Joan Hartmann, Laura Capps, and Das Williams proved again they do not want Santa Barbara County affordable to families, 75+ elders, or those workers without guarantees of lifelong govt pensions. Let us eat cake! Complicit locals are a problem; along with the cult followers who have supported these three progressives for decades. These voters have no concern for their struggling neighbors.

Consider joining the Ayn Rand Society to connect with like minded. After reading Rand’s collection of writings at age 19, five decades ago, a Stanford College Prof suggested we think hard on the significance of Rand’s messaging. I joined! I get it. Thank you Andy.

Thank you Andy for sounding the alarm. We need to use the same language they use on us; these people are dangerous and an existential threat to democracy. They need to be voted out, we need to organize and get our candidates ready and funded.

It is amazing how STUPID many people are in SB County. Or not, maybe it’s the majority are just protecting their six figure government pension?

We as conservatives need to get funded, loud and confrontational.

Yes, totally agree. I am attending the Steve Hilton talk on Friday at the Timbers. I found the SB Republican website to be helpful. I volunteered my time, but have not heard back. The time for sitting on the couch and complaining is OVER. We need to reach out to our friends and neighbors and have rallies and demonstrations against this tyranny. Think of this as a new form of the civil rights movement!

As for the fear, I have to agree and it is real. The fear of losing your job because of conservative values.

How can we get the message out, beyond the boundaries of this platform? Are we willing to stand loud and proud? We have been so brow-beaten for so long in our local environment that I fear that fear of reprisal is now a reality....How can we help to instill bravery in our fellow and silent conservative neighbors?

2. Free and competitive markets

3. Rule of law

I suppose my question was both legitimate and rhetorical in nature. I just get concerned that much of our conversation, as conservatives, gets lost on "preaching to the choir". It seems that the liberals are VERY versed in crowd sourcing, social media, and propagandizing. I suspect that his is because the values may run partly along age lines. I think that it is critical that those among us who know how to do so, leverage these platforms to "get the word out" to those beyond our tight circle. I am not one of these people, but I hope that someone among us is reading and could help in this regard.

Leslie: Why are you not one of the persons to get the word out? Volunteering to stuff envelopes or walk a precinct and drop off literature are easy, passive ways of being engaged.

Making donations to favored candidates, even small amounts also gets your voice heard. True political support comes from many small donors; not just the few who seek personal influence.

This is a very important election. Not one to just sit out this time.

Free and competitive markets are not conservative beliefs, nor is limited government - these are the revolutionary ideals of republicans and the enlightenment. It was market liberalism that destroyed rhe community oriented and morally guided economies of old, where guilds/artisanship, agrarian work, and small family owned businesses sought sufficiency and stability - instead of the maximization of profit we seen in market guided economies...

Labor was prized as a means of partaking in God's own creative power - God "worked" in making the universe, community cohesion and family bonds were essential as it was the family (not a single person) and extended communities who depended on one other in a particular job, but also as a community in providing services and goods to those who may not have shared your skills or area of work. And of course wealth and private property where a means to an end, not an end where the ultimate goal was simply to hoard for the sake of it... wealth and private property where used by the nobles to assist the poor and working class people would pass on their own property and possessions to their children...

I read this article by Mr. Caldwell titled "An Urgent Plea and Call to Action"

and I quote "One of the most famous lines in “Atlas Shrugged” is from Karl Marx: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” Our supervisors have decided that due to the inflationary policies they themselves supported (read: Bidenomics!)"

If you have not already known the SB So-Called-Leaders" have fooled almost everyone and are not

who they say they are. Sound familiar I leave you all with Judge Joe Brown on Ms. Harris and The "Actors Mask" that Harris had put-on at the weblink below>

https://x.com/DefiyantlyFree/status/1832673621828919684

And I quote Judge Brown at 5:30 in the taped interview above >>

"She's a Fascist" ..... "Strength Thru Joy" ..... "A Nazi German Program"

Any Nazi German Programs around little Ole Santa Barbara?"

Howard Walther member of a Military Family

PS - The Actors Mask comes from Greece and Their Tragic Plays

https://www.didaskalia.net/issues/vol7no1/vovolis_zamboulakis.html

And I quote "According to our concept of the acoustical resonance mask, the form of the tragic mask is connected to its function as a resonance chamber for the voice of the actor. The entire construction of the mask leads the actor towards a state of increased energy and presence, during which the actor senses the experience of a bodily and vocal expansion—a state of communication."

"That part of vocalisation is able to evoke an enormous range of emotional connotations. The cries correspond to different resonance chambers in the human body and lead to a metamorphosis. This has a physiological effect on the actor: the human face acquires the appearance of the tragic mask. The face radiates great intensity and presence. The face is expressionless, in a state of total presence, a state of emptiness.

Sound Familiar Folks?

Yes Michael this Judge does not like Harris one bit and I think that comes across in

his statements about Ms. Harris. Judge Brown is the real deal and a very vocal one

at that. You want a Black Representative this is THE MAN and I quote from his Bio>>

"After graduating from law school, Brown moved to Memphis, Tennessee to work as an attorney for the Legal Services Corporation. Brown later worked for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.[5] By 1978, Brown became the first African-American prosecutor in Memphis, and he later directed the Memphis public defender's office.[2] He would later open his own law practice before being elected as a judge on the State Criminal Court of Shelby County, Tennessee in 1990.[5] While on the bench he was known for his sometimes unusual sentences, such as sentencing a child molester to confess to his church congregation and ordering a drug trafficker to apologize in a newspaper letter.[6]"

Judge Brown is a FULL-ON ACTIVIST like his family members before him and it is apparent he despises anyone that does not Walk-Thier-Talk. Therefore, his comments about Harris.

Oh DL one of my favorites .... POE and reminds of todays Fractured Bell Ringers

during this Presidential Election so I quote from POES .... THE BELLS >>>>

Hear the tolling of the bells—

Iron Bells!

What a world of solemn thought their monody compels!

In the silence of the night,

How we shiver with affright

At the melancholy menace of their tone!

For every sound that floats

From the rust within their throats

Is a groan.

And the people—ah, the people—

They that dwell up in the steeple,

All alone

And who, tolling, tolling, tolling,

In that muffled monotone,

Feel a glory in so rolling

On the human heart a stone—

They are neither man nor woman—

They are neither brute nor human—

They are Ghouls: [Take one guess who the Ghouls are?]

Sounds Familiar in TODAYS POLITICING for anyone reading this?

How Bitter and vacuous action can the losers be in the County of Santa Barbara.

Das Williams was kicked out of office in what could only be called a voter revolt. In the process he has pushed for any and all far Lest Socialist concepts to say "I'll show you!!!!"

Guess who is backing this? None other then the 2nd Dist. Supervisor Capps who was so disliked by the 1st Dist. voters when she ran against Williams she could not get 5% of the vote. Now suddenly moves here address and is put in the 2nd Dist. because no one else wanted to deal with the crazy politics of UCSB.

Did I mention Hartmann who even Democrats in the Valley hold their noses when they vote for her. You know she backed the bike loop in the valley that will congest traffic, had many people say NO in a very loud way. Now she wants to "traffic calm" traffic on some of the primary traffic routes in the valley that will do EXACTLY what killed most traffic flow in Santa Barbara and killed its downtown. She is angry. She knows the majority voters in the 1st Dist. do not want her brand of government dictatorship(including the Ag. north end).

Has anyone bothered to compare the outcomes of the "Sup-prime real estate Obama Depression" that killed the Western Economy for over a decade? Now these 3 Stooges want to HAMMER the economy that is barely recovering even under the hammer of increased taxes from Sacramento. We'll give everyone a free ride but do not compare the cost of living and the lost businesses as a result of Left Inflationary Economics.

It may not be "Politics As Usual" but it is now time for Supervisor Elect Lee to step in and state a heavy handed action like this should be discussed in the Incoming 1st Dist. and voted on or killed next year.

Viva la Revolution????? Because this is exactly what is being attempted by this group of bullies.

Well done, Andy, with the comparison to Atlas Shrugged. Guess the cast of characters our fellow citizens elected did not consider the cost and impact on our environment of building all the sources to put the power into the electrical plugs for their green energy: how many windmills? Solar panels? Of course, more dams are out of the question as long as there are any bait fish left.

Their brethren have already driven many businesses out of California, including aerospace, much of the movie making ,and large parts of manufacturing, such as recently Chevron, Tesla, Tweeter, leaving agriculture, tourism and the computer related companies, although much like movie making, some of these, such as Dell and Oracle, have already moved out of state.

Taxes work like a funnel in our sinks: the narrower the tube, the faster the rate has to increase for the remaining ones as they head for the drain.

This cast of characters depending on the unfunded pension fund for state and county employees should learn from Bethlehem Steel where every employee is supporting 13 retirees. How many workers will it take to support their retirements?

Thank you, Andy. I have a few questions.

1) What is the best way to reach these idiots - is there any way to get them to actually read or listen to what we have to say?

2) How do we get rid of them? Voting out The Das (as in Das Kapital) didn't do the trick. He's like a horror movie monster rising from his ashes.

3) Why is The Das allowed to wreak vengeance on the people who voted him out like this? Carpinteria is made up of farmers. This is clearly Das' way of getting back at them. They didn't want his pot empire - then he'll put them out of business. Isn't this something Carpinteria can sue over? To me it's a clear-cut case of Malicious Governing through Persecution. No, that's not yet a category like Malicious Prosecution, but it should be.

Das is required to vote the way he does until the end of his term because he needs another high paid, no expertise required, Democrat controlled NGO or government job. At least it’s now 1 down, 2 to go, Mary Rose sure knows how to win elections for her clients.

93108, Thank you for explaining. But I also do think The Das is getting revenge on the farmers who voted him out. I truly see evidence of malice here. I've always seen big political plans in that guy's eyes. And he's not the first politician to get back at people who thwart ambition. I've mentioned this before - when Nixon became president he asked my father to be head of the IRS with the stipulation that my dad use it to punish Nixon's enemies list.

Laura Capps is another case. She had an impossible father - a thoroughly corrupt man who managed to get people to think he's a saint. And I don't think she feels she's living up to the Capps legend unless she wrecks Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, she's our supervisor and we got her to come out and listen to our neighborhood problems. Barely. She arrived draped in Ukraine colors. I was about to say “Sorry you can't hang out with Zelensky but we do need help” and my husband shot me a look - I'd promised to make nice for the sake of our neighbors.

These people don’t care about the environment, they only really care about imposing their Globalist agenda (and securing cushy spots for themselves in those arrangements). Besides, given the pace of development (and the dirtiness of it) in India and China, realistically speaking however many solar panels SB County puts up and however many battery-powered vehicles the County buys, none of it will make a bit of difference ecologically. It might well wreck our local economy, though. But, gosh, won’t we feel good about how virtuous we’ve been.

The unfortunate news for us as conservatives is the 30k kids at UCSB and the grip the left has on them, not to mention, the ability for the left to throw EVERY election by virtue of this voting bloc. LT- Agreed with your problem identification of student voting blocks. Reaching out requires money, funding, volunteers to connect with frat, sorority, dorm students to build and then SUSTAIN a political base of the 3 major campuses. We simply do not have the motivation, the will, or apparently the need to do locally what’s required. We specialize in problem identification; not follow through.

A former D3 highly qualified candidate initiated the organization of UCSB with NO SUPPORT. He brought in Turning Point. Hired students to reach out as influencers. Social media campaigning started. However, following his defeat to Hartman, locals chose not to sustain what inroads he had accomplished. That’s our local reality: Monday night football to view as Trump says “soft players”.
