Right on, Andy! Truth is often denied these days because of various untruths being circulated to the public.

Devout Marxist and incompetent imbecile, Karen Bass, was on a cocktail party-junket in Africa, paid for by her taxpayers while her city burned.

Clearly, her former DEI Fire Chief, now scapegoat, Kristin Crowley, was overwhelmed and unprepared in dealing with this calamity that resulted in billions in destroyed property and multiple deaths.

No, the inferno which destroyed Palisades had nothing to do with climate change and had everything to do with criminality and human incompetence at the highest levels of the City of Los Angeles.

The final tragedy? Palisades homeowners will be priced out of rebuilding, being over regulated and held hostage by the California Costal Commission.

I cannot help that consider the actions of Bass are a feature (Intentional) rather than a bug (Incompetency). Her history points directly to her current reconstruction of the City of Angels into a flaming snarling hellscape. We have so many friends who lost everything in that fire, including Kathy Kohner (Gidget) and her 90 year old husband, Marvin. The only people that came to assist them were their friends! What we saw was f ing criminal. Adam Carolla has been doing an excellent job covering the various aspects of the decimation of a historic portion of our Ca coastal community.

yes, I agreed, [they] set the conditions & then have their minions set fires…

Interesting to research:

What was the Average number of FIRES in CA per year [2000-2020] [June - Dec]?

Average number of FIRES 2018, 2019, 2020 [June - Dec]?

Outside of standard deviation?

What if CA was in serious debt and lost priority aid from the FED gov due to sanctuary status (illegal)?

What if CA was in serious debt and all attempts to obtain a bailout from [Pelosi inserted and pushed] C19 aid package(s) failed?

What CA programs re: fire prevention [forest - brush] have been severely cut?

What other cuts have impacted fire prevention & safety?

“ In Los Angeles, examples abound of lives and property lost due to insufficient staffing. Last July, the LAFD permanently lost four ambulances, nine paramedic units and eighteen fire companies. But rather than addressing unsafe staffing levels, LAFD Chief Brian Cummings is unilaterally imposing a dangerous plan to remove firefighters from twenty-two truck companies. His plan is vehemently opposed by the United Firefighters of Los Angeles County (UFLAC) and the Chief Officers Association (COA) because of the increased risk to firefighters and to public safety.”

How do you obtain FED money?

Declare a State of Emergency and request billions in assistance?

Welcome to CA...

Well of COURSE values are shifting in our youth. Look at what they have for role models. Children process more from what they see than monlogs and lectures. If Dad tells you not to drink while downing a 6-pack that lesson is lost. If violence is taught to be wrong while video games, movies, athletic events and what goes on in the streets around the country that isn’t stopped is front and center…that is what the child learns. Church and parental lectures aside, life isn’t upholding the stated values. So long as role models are corrupted, our kids will grow up that way as well.

Between the untruthful bombardment of misinformation and outright lies between the media and the school system, it is hard to see how our children stand a chance of seeing the truth that is right before their eyes

Palisades fire was caused also by $900K a year "first responders" who did not even know how to put out fires.

And knowingly left the original arson-created fire to smolder and re-ignite, during a high fire red-alert situation when there was also a known lack of immediate water reserves.

When you get paid twice as much as the President of the United States, I expect twice as much performance accountability. We did not get that. Not even close.

Instead we got instant blame and excuses. ("It was climate change; there was nothing we could do.")That is no longer good enough for government work. We can get that for free.

First off, I never saw headlines screaming that the LA fires were "caused" by climate change. I did, however, see many that attributed one of the factors behind them to climate change (distinguishing between ultimate and proximate causes). Same with other fires, severity of cyclones and hurricanes, and so on. It is happening, human action is responsible, and it's too late to hold it to the 1.5 degree goal (which is why Gates, who is smart enough to know that is not going to destroy the world, but that it will created many issues that need to be resolved, shifting to mitigation of effects rather than stopping it).

Here is an analogy that shows how to look at the "causal" factor: Barry Bond was a great baseball player and hit many home runs. He also used steroids. We can't say that steroid use "caused" any given home run that he hit, but we can say that it increased the probability that anytime he was at bat he would hit a home run. Unfortunately many people fall for the single cause fallacy.

the climate has been changing — from hot to cold & cold to hot — for billions of years…silly to think that humans have the ability to significantly reduce the progressions given that humans expend about 1 days worth of the sun’s annual showering of the energy that impacts earth…silly humans

Obama. The poster child for failed truth, accountability and authenticity. Timely reminder, as we face the current Democrat extortion shakedown demanding massive tax dollar infusions into Obamacare, or Democrats choose make everyone suffer until they get their way:

It is stunning to me that CALPERS can invest in a "green private equity find". I would think that if the manager of any private pension fund made such an investment, they would be liable for failing their fiduciary responsibility. Who decides how CALPERS assets are invested?

Many of those funds didn't perform very well when they started, but since 2015 or so "green private equity funds" have been doing pretty well.

Great points Andy! Is anyone at CALPERS being fired? Taxpayers are on the hook? They should be sued for incompetence.
