I enjoy your column, Robert, but am so tired of your Putin bashing. What, you'd prefer the war in Ukraine keep going so all the people making billions off the slaughter could keep making a profit? Yes, you had your career in intelligence but did you have a career in negotiating peace?

Thanks, Eringer, for balanced reporting (relatively speaking) with great entertainment value. You couldn't be more accurate re Putin. And re China's chilling moves. I hope you'll mention next time that Trump's aims are something similar. Well done!

House Subcommitee: Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials

Good project for DOGE investigate more government redundancies and inefficiencies. We already have this federal pipeline safety subcommittee under the Department of Transportation. (Rep Lois Capps was a long standing sub-committee member; Rep Salud Carbajal currently is not). https://transportation.house.gov/subcommittees/subcommittee/?ID=107421

But locally pipeline safety issues along with their lurid public claims about unsafe practices and corroded pipelines allow local "green activists" to override federal purview.

Query: Why spend our tax dollars at the federal level ensuring pipeline safety, when locals are continually allowed to override these federal efforts?

More nutty antics from the local environmental movement against Houston based Sable Oil from resuming production. The usual cast of characters, this time featuring “Hanoi” Jane Fonda and Julia “Elaine” Louis-Dreyfus making their opposition known. Notably, “Elaine” mentioned she “smelled a rat” in describing Sable re-opening the now repaired pipeline. Really? What would Jerry, George and Kramer say about all this? Maybe Elaine should stick to her zany dance moves instead of our energy policy?

Would it not seem logical that opening and restoring oil production via their pipeline is in Sable’s and the County’s best interest? Of course it is. Resuming energy supply is in our national security interest as well as resuming much needed energy royalties to the cash strapped State and County. Then what’s the problem? The problem is groups like the EDC, Sierra Club and Surf Rider want ALL coastal oil production stopped. Would they rather have our Gaviota coast littered with wind farms and solar panels? Would they rather have Sable transport millions of gallons of oil by way of tanker truck or rail which is much more hazardous? Would they rather see hundreds of local energy workers unemployed? Oh that’s right, most energy workers are from North County, NOT Montecito.

In the end, Sable is a legitimate, legal, publicly traded corporation, who has a right to now operate their repaired pipeline in observance of the strictest standards and regulations in the world. Why then does the liberal left and green consortium continue to stand in our way of energy independence? Sable has already paid millions in fines, levies and repairs. Why then should the nutty, left wing California Costal Commission and green NGO’s be allowed to continue to dictate national energy policy?

So let me understand this, the green movement despises oil companies and NOW Tesla? As one commentator mentioned earlier, “the liberal left needs to decide what they are for”…we all painfully know what they are against!

Zero tolerance and astro-turf activism is always the starting position for any green operations. Just how much Biden boondoggle funny money has flooded into local "green operations"? What astro-turf howls will be raised, when that flood of Biden funny money finally gets cut off?

No such thing as Covid 19. Just another liberal lie and hoax

For some reason, some local politicos instantly pounded the local media edhat with the now infamous "Bergamo Hospital" movie, used to stop any and all questions about "covid". Who were these people posting anonymously and so authoritatively on edhat about "covid" at this very early date? How did they already know about this Italian "covid" movie?

Why were they so rabid about shutting down any possible early debate on the topic. Why did edhat issue an immediate edict and censor any and all further questioning of this entire topic? All of this was happening in the very first months, when we first learned that "covid" had now officially entered in the US, via the Seattle entry point. Election year 2020.

Because JL, Edhat has a vested interest in perpetuating the ongoing fairytale on a variety of issues ie, COVID, climate change, education, human sexuality, etc. Anyone dare to contradict the often nutty and frequently vicious liberal dictum is banished into the Penalty Box. What a piss poor example of a “News Source!”

I think you’re right, Brad. They create realities by blowing soap bubbles of lies.

Their biggest boogeyman is the lie that viruses exist. “Be afraid, be very afraid, but we will save you with our vaccines.”

In Chinese social media, Donald Trump is often referred to as “Chuan Jianguo”, which translates to “Trump the Nation Builder.”

Bummer for the US is that it is a sarcastic label because they are saying that the Nation he is building is China....

To date 149 of the 195 countries on the globe have signed a memorandum of understanding with China to participate in China's Belt and Road Initiative. For scope that's 53 out of 54 African nations.

Seems like China is ensuring long-term relationships with much of the world.

And I guess if Harry get's the boot from the US he could scratch up 5 million for the 'gold card' citizenship program if that goes through.

From August 2023 - CFR reports on China's Belt and Road Initiative

...."Italy’s withdrawal would deal another blow to the BRI, which has already been scaled back as recipient countries grapple with debt distress, Chinese banks seek to reduce their exposure to risky loans, and China grapples with mounting domestic economic challenges.

European countries are increasingly focused on “de-risking” their economies and will be reluctant to increase their economic dependence on China, making it unlikely that any major economy will soon join the BRI. ".....

Yes they do, and specifically with both sides of the Panama Canal. Creating a potential foreign policy crisis. Very shrewd of Trump to leverage our power over the Canal.

Africa and its shipping lanes are yet another hot spot for potential conflict. The Chinese provides infrastructure to Africa and we provide blankets and drag shows.

Requirements to apply for the new Trump initiated "Gold Card", including the vetting process and possible path to later citizenship; which replaces the prior fraud-riddled visa equivalent:

Great article JL - love the idea of fast-tracking foreigners with at least $5 M and a clean record. Forget the huddled masses - who needs 'em. Leave it to Trumpy to come up with a practical concept!

What's really funny about the gold card link you posted - from who ever united states goldcard dot org is - they still have the old twitter logo by their 'share' spot. That logo hasn't been used since 2023. Seems like a pretty rickety website.

But I'm all for redoing the current visa system. I just hope it's with a group that isn't pissing Elon off using twitters old logo to link to X.

Eringer writes in support of suing China for "covid"::...... "The real cost was in lives lost, economies shattered, freedoms eroded."

The US hysteria and over-kill reactions to "covid", election year 2020, were not caused by China. Nor did universal PPE mandates stop the spread of this 99.98% recovery flu. We have yet to delve into the grip of global mass hysteria called "covid" and its immediate data corruptions . Mainly because few are still able or willing to even talk about it.

I've said this before, but I need to say it again and again until it actually sinks in with the conservative MAGA folk and everybody else who crossed over to support Trump: the REAL enemy is NOT Russia, never was, it has always been EXPANSIONIST China. Russia has always been the smoke screen, while the Chinese have been quietly and now not so quietly doing massive damage to the entire planet. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the globalist vultures like Bush senior, the CIA and other deep state elements with the help of Russian oligarchs internally in Russia who called themselves "Semibankerschina" swooped down on an alcoholic Yeltsin to destroy what was left of Russia and steal its resources. But Putin, a nationalist just like Trump got in the way and put a spanner in the globalist plans. So he ain't the bad guy, the Chinese are. The Chinese were quietly supported and encouraged by globalist corporations, the American deep state and Anti American politicians of the uniparty called neocons like Henry Kissinger and his ilk to create the NEW CHINESE WORLD ORDER. This is what Trump is fighting against....

If I have learned anything, American politics is all about money and control ... or is it first about control and then money. Regardless, all the government programs provide a means of siphoning off money to the controllers. In my world, that's it in a nutshell preferring to keep things simple to understand.
