I have always distrusted politicians. As a physicist, I always trusted the integrity of scientists. I always trusted my doctor as representing the best of the best in altruistic service to fellow man. I always believed that scientists had the highest integrity in pursuit of the truth regardless of where it led. I believe this used to be true but somewhere it changed. It changed long before I recognized it but the response to covid revealed the corruption in the sciences and medicine. Nothing corrupts like easy money and nothing is as corruptable as man. When funding for scientific research is from government and pharmaceutical companies who have a stake in the outcome, the answer is predetermined. Funding goes to those who play along and scientific journals publish the results lending the appearance of credibility. Corrupted by money and power, I no longer trust my doctor, medical journals, the media, the government, nothing. I have been turned into a grumpy old man who hates everything, but in this bitter form I am closer to the truth.
Yesterday my wife told me she spent $2,500 in gift cards to an online scammer, about $500 in gift cards per week. She still doesn't believe this "famous" and probably dead person is fake, but I'm working on her ... with the help of Grok and critical thinking she'll come to the realization. At least for now she accepts the fact that giving someone $2,500 is a lot of money of someone unseen. This is the fourth time she's been worked on by scammers, all on X. This latest scam is the one she took the bait on, and it cost her $$$. The scammer was good, really good. My wife is a good example of someone applying an empty head when it comes to trusting people. She's not a critical thinker.
To me, it's clear how people can be scammed by anyone. Scammers, aka politicians, have no problem stealing money from anyone ... it's apparently in their genes. A fact of life. Just remember, there's scum everywhere ... inside and outside of your toilet.
When scientists play with numbers in parts per million (PPM) that's when you can tell they are corrupt. I recall one scientist making a big deal about a 1 PPM change. One ppm is 0.0001%. As an analog circuit designer such as myself working with measuring real world parameters; I know measuring anything better than 0.1% is difficult. If someone can see or measure a change better than 0.01%, now that's really good. And if someone can see or measure a change of 1PPM to 10PPM or 0.0001% or 0.001% change, we should give that person a million bucks. And we are living in fantasy land if we believe it.

In Northern California we as a family did not go along with the program- none of us got vaxxed, and we refused to wear masks in public- we got kicked out of many places and we put up with a lot of name calling from pusillanimous ideologues- but we weren't fooled. The ultimate plan (and a condition of a nonprofit structured so) was for SBNPR to split the real estate commission 50/50; half to go to any realtor that worked for us, and half to go to the school's solar installation.

SBCC offers classes in biology. Go take one. You will learn how virus work and how long they live outside of the blood stream, how they are transmitted, how they replicate, etc. To give you some perspective, take HIV tainted blood in a vial. When scientists play with numbers in parts per million (PPM) that's when you can tell they are corrupt. I recall one scientist making a big deal about a 1 PPM change. One ppm is 0.0001%. As an analog circuit designer such as myself working with measuring real world parameters; I know measuring anything better than 0.1% is difficult. If someone can see or measure a change better than 0.01%, now that's really good. And if someone can see or measure a change of 1PPM to 10PPM or 0.0001% or 0.001% change, we should give that person a million bucks. And we are living in fantasy land if we believe it.
