Democrats biggest problem is they believe their own press releases, which are now totally devoid from reality. As set out in detail in this very article. This detachment from reality shows up even here, when Democrat ideologues hurl patent invective against their own cartoon versions of MAGA, Trump supporters, Fox TV viewers and/or Orangeman cult members. They seem to relish in the spew, for the spew's sake.

May Democrats continue down their own self-inflicted path of destruction. The country has now moved well beyond the railings of their inauthentic ravings. Their only way out now is to accept the conservative fundamentals that will make America great again. So we are now in a win-win position.

Flail away, Democrats. Get it all out. That is how we finally get to start all over again. You love America enough to fight for it in your own way. So do we. We honor your right to free speech. Honor our demands for a balanced budget.

As the real Dems unravel themselves showing who they really are, I find it so stunning I feel like I've come from another planet. I'm sure many other feel the same way. My big question is where all this is going to lead to? I believe they all hate this country. I have to think those that aren't successful, for whatever reason, is one of the sources of hatred. People that are successful don't have the time to be creating so much hatred. There are some successful brainwashed types hating this country, too.

Great, Jim, thank you. It would be better for the future of this planet if we weren't allowing the Dems to colonize our thoughts. We have to think about them somewhat, because if we turn away from them to more constructive thoughts for too long, then they get up to shit. But my wish for my politically sensible friends is that they compartmentalize the Dems. I mean, you don't think about the rat problem in Santa Barbara all the time, do you? I certainly hope not. Sometimes on SB Current really smart people waste too much of their brains trying to argue sense with looney Dem commenters. It's not possible to get through to them, and I wish my brainy friends would apply their mental horsepower to other non-Dem things. The world would quickly be a better place. But perhaps I feel this way because of my recent near-death experience, which put a lot of things in perspective.

Concise, comprehensive, timely. Spot on Jim! Democrats struggle to govern despite having limitless power in CA. They equate spending with success; where are the results, the improvements from spending? Job creation is employment for ‘their own’ in government jobs or from government grant funding to NGOs and NPOs. Housing means years planning affordable, tax exempt rentals (not ownership) to be subsidized by bonds paid for only by property owners of taxable properties. Education means 7:30-5:30 relief from parental responsibilities with provision of 2-3 meals, with children free to be. There is no accounting of where the money goes for homelessness, veterans, or any line item because of their arrogant anything goes attitude. When there’s a revenue shortfall attention is turned to confiscation of income, via more taxes and fees, and of private property, post disasters and local ordinances.

Democrat youth self-identify as good people because “we’re compassionate, we care” and so therefore “we deserve”. No one deserves anything; they earn it! Entitled beyond my comprehension. We deserve to live in high cost communities, we deserve to travel, we deserve tax paid child care, we deserve a new versus used car, … we deserve regardless of $36T national debt.

On Fareed Zacarias two younger male journalists — presumably Democrats — Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson discussed their book Abundance, a “call to renew a politics of plenty, face up to the failures of liberal governance, and abandon the chosen scarcities that have deformed American life.” They call for an attitude change, adding that one path forward for Democrats is to cut regs and tax on building things. DEMs regulate; GOP deregulate. DEMs do not care about efficiency or spending, they ‘feel’ rather than analyze (so don’t fire but rather unionize). Their summation was accurate which can be confirmed in Santa Barbara County: Democrats do not use power well.

If DEMs don’t change, CA and blue states will continue to loose people, loose taxpayers. However, will they loose power?

That about covers it Jim, excellent summation. One only look to the parade of buffoonery, Al Green, Rosa DeLauro, Tim Waltz in order to come to an obvious conclusion. Unlike my Parents who were New Deal Texas Democrats, today’s “gang members” are supportive of massive taxation, spending, unlimited nanny state, and violating the rights of those who happen to differ with them.

Yes, today’s Democrats come off like an unhinged, violent mob. Case in point, was the disgraceful display of those who oppose the “Right to Life” in front of the Granada, last Tuesday night. Signs accusing right to life advocates of being “Nazis” really shows the callousness ignorance of those on the left. When all else fails, resort to name calling, bullying, intimidation, hate speech and yes in some cases, violence as a means to justify a sick etiology.

I wonder if those protesting in front of our local Tesla dealership are proud of themselves given the alarming uptick in violence, domestic terrorism and criminality? But, not unlike other criminal gangs, they eventually turn on themselves…as we see now!

Well said !!! You don't need to look much further than to our own state govt to see how they operate! GVNR NEWSANCE is a prime example of the "new" demon-rats!! His self-serving podcast is nothing more than him hoping and wanting to become the next Rogan! Good ruck with that govvie!!!

Oh, and BTW, it would be nice if the GOVNR cared enough about our beautiful state to NOT ALLOW OUR SKIES to be sprayed, almost daily, with poisons in the name of "climate control!" The chemtrail pilots are out of control over the central coast and elsewhere! If these a-holes were driving down the street blowing crap out of their exhausts, we would report them and they would get notified to get the problem fixed or get their cars impounded! Why shouldn't we be able to do the same when we see crap being sprayed in our beautiful blue skies!?!? Enough is enough!!

TJ, I don't know what's worse; that these SB Current "brainiacs" believe in chemtrails, or that (pretending chemtrails are real) that they don't suspect the most powerful man in the world (Trump) and the wealthiest man in the world (Musk) aren't behind chemtrails.

For me, I add chemtrails to long list of B.S. these people choose to believe: the 2020 election was stolen, climate change is a hoax, Obama was a muslim born in Kenya, Michelle is a dude, Hunter's laptop and the Biden crime family, Trump knew nothing of Project 2025, crisis actors at Sandy Hook, Comet Pizzagate, anon anon. I'm sure many are flat-earthers as well.

Sure, it's sometimes entertaining to read the Current -- just as it is to peruse the National Inquirer -- but it's often such utter nonsense that it's hardly worth the chuckles. And today's was no exception.

What is he talking about with government: Out-of-control , Spending and borrowing, Taxing the middle class..........

Opp's the out of control UC System states it is out of money and freezing salaries, up and down the State the "Word" is out GOVERNMENT IS OUT OF MONEY!!!

Think this is wrong? How about $26 Billion deficit, and Newsom wants another $9 Billion?

That is right, major contracts in public works that are due and payable on completion just might not have money to pay them. Really??? Yep, Really.

California has been the home of thugs from on high (read that as Sacramento) forcing high density housing-rail projects that are idiotic, costing $ Billions, and do not perform. How about the Bike Trails that are supposed to "alleviate" the need of widening freeways like 101? The term alleviate was used by Schwartz when she forced the idiotic failed Ortega Ridge Bike Path. The next time you see blocked streets, and transportation grids that have been intentionally destroyed you will get the idea.

I urge you to re-read this missive, and look at downtown Frisco, Old Town Goleta & Santa Barbara, and more.

The Democrats spend their time, focus and energy getting back at ‘the man’. Why? Because most of them have had disappointing lives. When the guys found out they couldn’t get laid and the girls couldn’t get a date it became time to change how society operates. Let’s look at education.

CA is ranked around 44 out of 50 states.

Which groups suffer academically?

Hispanics.

After decades of Democratic run school boards there is no progress in lifting up Hispanics.

Why?

The Superintendent & Board has all sorts of racist excuses blaming the students ethnicity, but in the end they choose to not educate.

Where did the Dem party vine from? Slave owners who need unskilled labor.

Seeing a connection yet?

No, "everybody" does NOT agree life begins at fertilization. There are cells that must replicate into the systems required to create a life.

A zygote cannot exist outside the womb.

An embryo cannot exist outside the womb.

Into the last trimester the woman has a fetus.

It is not a baby until it is born and takes its first breathe.

Science shouldn't be so scary for you folks

Thank you for your unsupported opinion.

It seems you believe life begins when the government assigns you a social security number?

To date science has not answered the question.

Yet you seem fine potentially killing a life without scientific proof the baby was not alive.

You provided no proof, just an opinion. And 8n your opinion you are ok with killing a potential life. Why? What trauma have you faced in your life? Did you have an abortion?

You don’t believe in what the judges from Roe said, 24 weeks?

And you do not believe the baby is alive when

there’s a heart beat at 24 days

5 weeks there’s brain activity

16 weeks the baby starts kicking

17 weeks when a premature SBYC can live on its own outside the womb.

24 weeks when the baby can feel pain

You don’t believe it unless you can touch it. Guess you’re gonna have a problem with digital currency!

Thank you for clarifying your unscientific opinion with zero scientific references.

The Democratic Party has always been about domination & control, with its routes stemming from slave owners, plantation owners that needed cheap, unskilled labor who would not complain about work & living conditions.

Sound familiar?

What is the reason Democratic Leaders & Corporate Media say we need illegal aliens? To perform the laborious, demeaning jobs American Citizens will not do first less money than a Citizen would charge.

Exploitation of illegals, aka modern day slavery is alive and well.

Never mind that illegals make up less than 6% of the Nations labor. So look where illegals make up a bigger percentage. Like CA, and CA agriculture.

Civil & Womens Rights - Democratic Party voted against every civil rights act. They do not care about minorities and women.

Look at how Democrats treat women today, they minimize women’s rights and suffer age by saying a man in a dress has the same suffrage.

Just like putting on a leather skirt and painting your face makes you a Native American. Or painting your face black makes you a Black person. Oh, right, that crosses a line, why?

Hypocrites? Dem leaders protest Tesla by going out and buying V8 SUVs, not electric cars. Guess Climate Change was only an issue when they could drive a Tesla?

Democrats Leaders say they are Catholics, yet they advocate for abortions. The best part is not one of them can tell you when life begins. Not one Dr or scientist will say when life begins. Meaning Democrats are ok with potentially killing unborn children. If you disagree, tell us with scientific proof when life begins.

Democrats are potential baby killers.

Democrats Voters have no excuse in today’s age of technology and information. Name what policies Democrats have delivered on. Name their policies.

Democrat voters know they support slavery and killing innocent lives.

They choose to ignore these facts.

Montecito93108's avatar

Oh Brian, you write “not one of them can tell you when life begins”. You’re so wrong! Everybody agrees life begins at fertilization. Disagreement between Americans of all political and various religious perspectives is not when life begins. Rather disagreement is when is human life VIABLE outside of a woman’s womb or a mechanical womb?

While there have been babies born at 22-23 weeks gestation, they could not survive without intense 24/7 mechanical support. You and others may want to pay for multi-million dollar costly newborns at 22-23 weeks, that’s your choice. I prefer my federal and state tax dollars to pay for national security, sovereignty, safety, and the $36T debt. I expect a stop to government over reach into private lives, and a woman’s right to own our bodies!

Does the Bible provide a definitive answer or verse stating when life begins? NO. Do Biologists, OB/GUNs, and most agrees that life begins at fertilization with creation of a zygote; and that zygote possesses the DNA coded info to become a unique, separate individual after the embryo becomes a fetus? Yes.
