The illusion of a climate crisis and the promise of action is a big part of what got California's Democrat super-majority elected. The electorate eat it up and vote accordingly giving the state government a mandate to act. Impact on the economy and on the citizenry must not deter the program. Yet, the evidence for a true climate crisis is tenuous at best. Measured temperatures are well within what is known to have existed before fossil fuel and CO2 is lower than it has been for much of the history of the earth. Climate predictions for the far future are too complex to solve mathematically in any meaningful way so the climate scientists simplify the problem by making assumptions about what is important and what is not and then use computers to model this stick-man representation of nature. The result is a "prediction" of what the climate might be like in 150 or 300 or 1000 years. So the stick-man model cannot be proven in our lifetimes? The negative impact of climate legislation as real but the proof is based on a cartoonish representation of nature created by climate scientist zealots? Extraordinary claims (fossil fuel is a existential threat to life) require extraordinary proof. Computer models that cannot be validated in our lifetime do not qualify as extraordinary proof. Yet the damage is extraordinary and real and now.

Excellent posit JB…we are taught that the world will be distroyed if we do nothing about ‘climate change’, yet [their] models never tell the story of what would happen if we follow all of their remedies…climate change is just another play to maintain their strategy of tension…easy to see through this scam. Covid taught the free thinkers how pervasive, intricate, and sinister their plans/plays have become.

Absolutely, every day I see change. One day it's raining and another day it's sunny. I prefer to have each day the same without climate change, let's call them rainsun days.

Energy crisis or political crisis? Wait, our County’s future energy policy is being decided by Uncle Chen?

Yes, the Dems in Sacramento are looking for cover once it was revealed that our gas prices may soon spike to $10/gal. These same geniuses figured out there’s no refinery capacity AND because of nutty state mandates, prohibits importing oil from other states? Talk about a self imposed crisis.

Trump has made it clear, NO EV mandates, so where is our energy suppose to come from,

wind farms? Again, Trump just made it clear that these “farms” are an ecological disaster due to the inability to recycle their huge turbines. Can anyone imagine our Central Coast looking like Palm Springs? Whales, sea birds be damed! Just ask the folks in Morro Bay how that’s working out.

Then there is the issue of the BESS battery plants popping up around the Central Coast. One just got forced on the folks in Nipomo with an additional plant planned for Goleta, right next to the Elwood Elementary School and a senior retirement home. Sure hope they have fire coverage, oh wait, the Elwood fire station is mothballed because the City of Goleta is going broke! Where is all the public hearings? Are they following the same regulatory process as for fossil fuel production?

California energy policy is obviously controlled by Dems who take their marching orders from folks like Linda Krop, UCSB plant and Environmental Defense Center Grand Poobah and has single handily prevented Sable from repairing and operating their own pipeline, requiring massive trucking of their product.

Yes, we can expect our California leaders to do with energy what they have done with education, immigration, crime enforcement, housing, homelessness etc. Just look at the disastrous multi billion dollar boondoggle “train to nowhere” which hasn’t even laid one rail and really amounts to a massive payday for the Unions!

LT, I got a weird email notification saying you'd replied to a comment I made: “Polly, You’re kidding, right? Like you’re in a position to judge anyone or decide morality. Spare us all. Med time?” I was making a joke based on what you'd said to another comment: “I have sinned.” So my joke was based on approving what you said. I don't like punctuating my humor with emoticons - to me that's like a tv show laugh track. I grew up in Santa Barbara - but spent much of my adult life in NYC. Being back in Santa Barbara is like I should wear a t-shirt with this on it 😂. It's the irony-challenged capital of the world. I mean, otherwise why wasn't the No Kings crowd giving Carbajal the raspberry as he pranced around yesterday? Anyway, so sorry I offended you. Have a great Father's Day!

Roy Lee was an unprepared, nice guy, democrat, and as such, electable. He’s Laura Capps’ puppet because he isn’t prepared, has a business to run, father responsibilities to 2 teenagers, and other family commitments. Roy Lee is a placeholder who got the job done: he knocked off Das from doing more damage holding the seat. Thank Roy Lee! Mission accomplished. Now identify a prepared, informed, strong candidate to elect next time; or impeach Roy Lee.

After the No Kings rallies Saturday and the photos showing the demographic that attended - white Boomers - I got why the Dems are so viciously defending their illegal voters. This x link says it all https://x.com/wokal_distance/status/1934040925053080054

And when I sent it to friends around the country, they all said that it was white Boomers attending the No Kings where they live. A friend in New England said he saw a bunch of white Boomers going down his street. By the way they looked he thought they were on their way to brunch. But they were all headed to a No Kings rally.

Thanks Andy for the specifics of events that will affect all of us. a couple of thoughts. If the Russian Central Committee, who controlled their country, never had a five year plan that worked: what chance does an almost termed out governor or legislature have?

The Democrats turning on the only man who did anything specific to help the environment, Elon Musk, demonstrated their desire for power dwarfs their one for protecting the environment.

It all comes down to a term I use often, it's called "critical thinking." When I look at ants crawling around the ground and think of their ecological impact, it's not much I believe. When people walking the earth with all their toys emitting stuff, I firmly believe with all the anti-pollution control devices incorporated in vehicles and industry, etc., nature laughs and says, "Humans are a drop in the bucket." Nature can create catastrophes beyond comprehension ... like Yellowstone Park blowing up. And a humored universe looks down at the earth with humans and nature as a potential "here-today and no-tomorrow" fly-on-the-wall potentially disappearing quicker than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. The Dems need to stop being brainwashed by others believing they have the answers for others. Enjoy life, eat all the ice cream you want and raise the middle finger as high as you can to all the morons of the world.

I was speaking to the myth that we need illegal immigration to do work citizens will not do. This was the implication in Siemsen's comment that deportation will destroy the economy. I was pointing out that these jobs such as picking strawberries seemed to have been done just fine before the mass illegal immigration of the Biden administration. In fact they were even cheaper before all of these illegals came in purpordedly to do this kind of work. I do not believe there as a valid argument to be made that flooding the country with unskilled, uneducated, illiterate (even in their native language) illegal migrants strengthens our economy. However in the Orwellian logic of the left, this is the case. Straight from the ministry of truth, 2+2=5.
