Would-be Trump Assassin Fails… Again
The latest creepy loser who has attempted to take a former president's life tried to mimic Lee Harvey Oswald and Abraham Zapruder. He, of course, succeeded in neither role.
The second attempted assassination of Donald Trump, 63 days after the first failed attempt, took place at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. This one revealed a startling piece of evidence. The would-be killer – after a diligent Secret Service agent's bullets sent him scurrying – left a GoPro camera at the scene atop backpacks filled with ceramic tile and an AK-47, suggesting that he intended to record – and possibly distribute – a viewing of the murder of President Trump.
Routh brought a GoPro – the item a skateboarder might mount to his helmet to capture a daring stunt – to an assassination attempt. My Goodness! Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw conjectured that the wannabe assassin was "intent on filming what was going on."
Assassins once attempted to get away. Now they're intent on getting caught.
Ramon Mercader, while he could not escape from Leon Trotsky's bodyguards after bludgeoning Josef Stalin's bête noir with an ice pick in Mexico City, refused to give up his identity for the rest of his life.
Lee Harvey Oswald killed a policeman to elude capture after murdering President John F. Kennedy. James Earl Ray, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassin, went on the lam for two months, during which time he traveled to Canada, the United Kingdom, and Portugal.
Even John Wilkes Booth, whose "sic semper tyrannis" shout served as the 1865 version of bringing a GoPro to a murder, broke his leg jumping from President Abraham Lincoln's theater box, spent 12 days on the run, and died as a result of a gunshot wound after refusing to surrender.
Evidence as Accessory
As opposed to Booth, Mercader, Oswald, and Ray, Routh brought the mechanism that would implicate him in the murder. Mr. Routh allegedly sought to memorialize his moment of infamy, which many can no longer distinguish from fame, on video and perhaps the internet through a livestream. OK, he fled in his SUV. But he brought a camera to a killing. Who does that?
Criminals with any degree of intelligence don disguises, brandish aliases and establish safe houses. They do not broadcast boastful pictures of drugs, guns, and money on the internet. Lots of lonely losers today desperate for notoriety do just that.
Crime always job-recruited among the dumb. Have those taking up the profession ever been this stupid? Maybe "vainglory" better describes this phenomenon.
Not just criminals but huge swaths of the citizenry feel compelled to narc on themselves, and for their boring, law-abiding activities. Pictures of the pork chop they ate for dinner posted to Instagram, dear diary-style recordings of their feelings about their childhood for show on YouTube and journaling the mundane activities ("just fed the dog") of the day on X strongly indicate that we live more in an exhibitionist culture than a voyeuristic one.

Seeking Immortality via Murder
Ryan Wesley Routh's motivations will likely be forthcoming before long. He wrote Unwinnable War, a rambling and forgettable self-published book. He voted for people based on unprincipled reasons (Donald Trump and Tulsi Gabbard) and then turned on them viciously in social media when they didn't live up to his expectations. He channeled small donations exclusively through Democrat Party fundraising websites.
On a declared income of $3,000 a month, he was able somehow to travel across oceans and continents in pursuit of a rewarding crusade which would give meaning to the vacuous emptiness he felt inside. He sensed more hatred toward Russia than he did love for Ukraine. He was vocal and unspoken, never hiding his candle under a bushel. Ryan Wesley Routh at the right moment will sing like a songbird.
By all estimations, Ryan Wesley Routh is a loser. Did he really believe by killing a man intensely liked by millions of Americans that he would instantly become a winner? Approaching the age of Social Security and lacking any semblance of success in his life, Routh likely looked at life's checkmate – the moment one realizes that bad choices and fate no longer allowed for the fulfillment of dreams.
We live in a profoundly narcissistic culture in which celebrity rather than sainthood appears to many as the highest level of humanity. As an antagonist to religion and anything it offers, the very disturbed Ryan Wesley Routh sensed immortality coming through the successful activation of horrific stunts such as he allegedly attempted to undertake last Sunday. (The question remains how he knew to lie in wait outside the 6th hole of this golf course for his target to pass by his devil's nest.)
Once again in his crippled life, Mr. Routh has failed. He does get the three-name treatment, however, and a fleeting moment of fame and notoriety.
But he will not win online immortality through his GoPro...
...Or a Lee Harvey Oswald paragraph in the history books.
I'm sure Mr. Routh will be on Suicide Watch while in jail.
His life on his terms is over.
He gambled against religion – and lost yet again!

Democrats are trying to kill Trump, literally.
Trumps public agenda placed him in another state.
Trump International has not yet opened for the season. In other words, the course was closed.
So who told Routh to go to the golf course on that specific day?
Routh hid in an area well known for paparazzi. Secret service purposely did not check those bushes despite their knowing it was a weak link in security.
Just like secret service told local police to not worry about the roof that Crooks was on.
Mayorkas runs the secret service. Secret service repeatedly denied requests for additional security.
Just connect the dots. Heck they are practically posting the plot on CNN!
There is also this to chew on. Had Routh or Crooks succeeded, a good swath of our fellow countrymen would be cheering -- openly. It would be like a giant Super Bowl party throughout our bluest cities nationwide. The killer lauded as a patriot for ridding the nation of its "existential threat." "Worse than Hitler." Felon, Racist, Dictator. The party of gun control is as responsible for placing weapons in the hands of would-be Trump assassins as had whatever demons overtaken their mental state. All high stakes politics is dirty, but since 2016, the rhetoric is incendiary. Reckless and unaccountable. Never forget: an innocent family man lost his life to a bullet intended for the former president. The news media and pundits mumbled their way for the 24 hours following, and then took up again, the rallying cry, "Death to All Tyrants."
