I don’t think the public school establishment is going to respond to calls for transparency. They get an absurd amount of money from the taxpayers and produce illiterate graduates. The answer is the CEO Act which gives $17,000 per student per year in an educational savings account. Parents would be able to shop for the best way to educate their children. This would be a massive blow to the system that offers only the public school option to families without the financial means to afford private school or to home school. Getting this passed would send a shock wave across the nation, since things tend to start here and ripple through the rest of the nation.

I always invite anyone who complains about school district funds going to non-teaching personnel to visit the county law library and view the entire shelf devoted only to the multiple volumes of the California Education Code.

Not following the letter of every single requirement in this multi-volume Education Code - written by state special interests - creates legal havoc for any school district. And the unfortunate demand for ever-growing numbers of non-teaching administrators, outside consultants and legal expenses.

Have members of the current SBUSD board ever perused these volumes, page by page, to under stand the full scope and forces that direct their own stewardship of our schools in the name of voters and tax payers?

Perhaps we need a ceasefire between the writers of the Education Code and what is truly in the best interests of the students, if we want more control over the education dollar. Prop 98 already guarantees by law, that public education receives the most significant portion of the state budget right off the top. Are we getting significant value for our students in return?

Our Founders built a very solid structure that stood for 2 centuries. Then a pack of progressive termites began to invade. Once they got inside our building, their destruction became very evident. Their method is their most effective mode, work behind the scene! In every aspect of our Governance and way of life, if not exterminated, there will be nothing left!
