The late count provides opportunity to figure out how many Dem votes are needed to assure a win for Dem candidates currently in the losing position. Red votes find the trashcan and blue votes are counted.

The fact that California elections are the laughingstock of the world, should not surprise anyone. No ID, no address, no citizenship, no problem…no pasa nada! Of course, the fix is in and always seemingly benefiting the Democratic candidates, what a surprise! Clearly, we need federal elections laws which mandate voter ID and election integrity. Election day should be a federal holiday and results need to be tabulated that same day. Why can’t our Governor Newsom understand this? He seems to be more concerned about transgender rights and subsidies for electric cars than he does with election integrity. Oh well, the latest election results show several counties in California flipping to red, and hopefully the tide is finally turning against the feckless, corrupt and incompetent Democratic machine which has run our once golden state into despair and insolvency!

A vote is a vote, and it is the voter's duty to make sure it meets all proper formatting requirements. Or else the ballot gets discarded.

No bureaucratic and often SEIU unionized staff member" should be the final arbiter of the ballot by "adjudicating" it weeks later. Too much inherent conflict of interest exists on its face, since that ballot can decide who the new bosses will be for those very same ballot-adjudicating employees.

Sorry, these county employees may be a pure as driven snow, but on is face this is too weak of a vulnerability to allow this tardy ballot counting practice to continue. Stop treating voters like incompetent infants. Either they vote properly and get proper information up front, or else they lose their one duty privilege they have to participate in our elections.

We don't farm our final vote counts out to "adjudicating" election office employees. Nor expect volunteer poll observers to dedicate weeks of oversight to ensure proper ballot handling. Put the emphasis on ballot accuracy up front BEFORE the ballot is cast; not cured by election office employees weeks after the fact.

Election integrity will be on Trump's agenda. You have to give Trump credit. Already he is acting as President. With two phone calls he is acting on border policy and foreign policy projecting his power as president.

In 1887, British historian, Lord Acton, observed that Power tends to corrupt and that absolute power corrupts absolutely". He was referring mainly, to leaders. But, it can be applied to a whole body of people, such as a political party. This appears to be the case inn California, where the Republican Party appears to be almost extinct.

The last time I looked, 50% of registered voters were Democrats, 25% were Republicans and 25% were Independents, who had a tendency to vote for Democrat candidates.

Personally, I have no doubt that California's elections are rigged especially, when there is a tight race. However, the rules in California dictate fraud in every election

But, the imbalance in voter registrations, cannot be ignored.

The only opposition party, the CAGOP, is virtually non-existent. Until that changes, it is unlikely that the balance of power will change, short of a major disaster in California occurs that is attributable to Democratic incompetence or abuse of power. Which is becoming increasingly likely.

I think the number of people who want honest elections is a vast majority. Dem leaders may not and hard core "by any means necessary" leftists may not, but that doesn't mean most Dems are willing to sign off on fraud and criminal manipulation. Most Dems are decent people who have been deceived into thinking Dem leaders care about our country.

Good article, Lou, and good, constructive comments from the readers. Another great reason to increase the readership of The Current to get even more ideas on improving our deplorable voting situation in California.

I'm certain that the CA Dem Party s going to be massively shaken up by the last days of Biden. Personally, I'm going to wait until Spring to see what remains of it before spending time fighting. It's in the process of self-destruction. Yes, one could take suits against what were obviously stolen elections in this state, but what is that going to accomplish now? I'm most concerned about Biden and Ukraine and Russia. After that I'd rather spend my energy campaigning for a candidate for governor who could win. I keep saying that would meed to be someone from inland, from a city like Modesto or Stockton, but someone who can stare down the coastal elites. Someone like Vance.

Only in California...our US Constitution states one must be a citizen to vote. Pretty simple concept if one follows the intent of the Constitution. But the enforcement of the decree is

ignored, rejected, twisted by those with an alternative motive. Until the voters in this State

see the (vast) corruption, it will only get worse. And although I cannot "prove" it, I believe there is some funny business going on with vote counting! Blessings

Remember 2020 when Trump won election night but every morning that week we woke up to learn that his lead was less than when we went to bed until, finally, Trump's lead was gone: then they said it's over. This time his lead was so great, and some states were sued into making changes, that Trump's lead was "tamper proof." In 2024 the time it took to "count" the votes in California 13 and 45 would embarass Venezuela.

I agree with your assessment of the problem, but I do not trust federalizing as a solution. We need to have a robust movement here in California demanding that only citizens vote, the voter roles are cleared of people who have moved away or died, and an end ballots sent through the mail. I believe we have new federal precedents for voter ID that we can use. It is daunting here in California to change things from the ground up, but this is the only way to make lasting change.

Good to look to others states best practices when re-writing ours. How did Florida get all their ballots processed on election night?

No one needs to invent the wheel in California; just harvest other state's sounder elections processes; not harvest endless numbers of questionable ballots that requires weeks of additional processing.

Criminals will do anything to stay in power.

Per their #s 40% of CA wants the Dem tyranny to end.

In reality it’s at a min 50/50.

The elites purposefully cheat to stay in power.

It’s big business and power and from looking at Pelosi and Newsom you can see the CA ring leaders with their rules for thee …

As we have witnessed and personally experienced over the last several years CA Dems do not care about you me or our children.

8-10 million reported illegals in CA alone.

How many had ballots submitted in their names?

Illegals are not cheap labor as represented by Dems who harbor the fugitives.

Their “union” is pushing to pay them 30% more than minimum wage.

From clients they say they love illegals bec they’re cheap labor. Meaning they do not report all the wages or send taxes to the government, they house them onsite in lower quality onsite residences.

So illegals are trafficked here, placed on a farm in lower quality conditions and they are trapped, too fearful to leave their “safe haven”. In other words, slaves. Ok, indentured servants if you want to nit pick.

But this is what CA voters want. Slaves. After all Democrats are the party of slaves owners who voted against every civil rights bill in history and continues to keep slaves today.

On top of that illegals, who per their masters earn a fair wage also enjoy free healthcare, free education, free college, and other subsidies thanks to you, the tax payer.

Do you think your college kid should also get free healthcare and subsidies?

This is what our Elitist Government & lobbyists want, this is what they convinced Dem voters is good. Market rate employees not paying taxes getting us to foot hundreds of millions in taxes towards these criminals.

Sorry, but they broke the law. CA government harbors the law breakers and uses public monies to support them and hide them. It’s a RICO case and by paying taxes you are helping or at a minimum complicit is the illegal activities.

Along with illegals comes drugs and human trafficking. Yep you’re aiding and abetting human traffickers, slave traders and the cartel which kills thousands of Americans.

Thank you Democrat voters for allowing our great state to become a giant cesspool of illegal, harmful criminal activity.

Thank you Republicans who are too lazy to fill out the ballot that sat on your kitchen counter for weeks.

Every Dem voter and non voting Rep should have illegals and homeless dropped off at their homes for them to take house, feed and care for them out of their pockets.

Did I miss something here? Where's the outrage over Putz Biden granting a 'full and unconditional pardon' for his crook son?

Got an idea - let it happen, then when Joe leaves office go after both of them for all their crooked behavior.

Mr. Brown, The outrage is in the same place it was when trump pardoned 235 of his cronies, at the end of his term in 2020, when he lost his bid for president. Included in his pardons was Ivanka‘s crooked father-in-law, who he has at present made ambassador to France. Nice cushy job for a criminal.

You can thank trump himself for the pardon of Hunter Biden. If he and his team had not been spouting about revenge and retribution, this might not have happened.

“Blue Shift” ? - Blue Scam more like it.

The Commie-Dems have always been as crooked as a dog’s hind leg, and look where it’s gotten them - power, majority and control! So what’s the lesson here? If that’s what it takes to win, the GOP must learn their M.O. and do it better. Need to fudge a little to ‘accommodate’ minor discrepancies? No problem!
