Election Deniers: Corruption Starts at School

Who is Teaching Your Child Morals and Values?

Character Starts Young. It is often said that politics are downstream of culture. Long before someone runs for office or decides whether an election result is acceptable, somebody teaches that person right from wrong.

So perhaps the better question is simpler: Are honorable adults born that way, or are children taught honesty, fairness, courage, self-control, and respect for rules until those qualities become character?

Earlier this year, The Santa Barbara Independent reported that Santa Barbara County ranked fourth highest in California for juvenile arrests, at roughly twice the statewide rate. Parent groups have warned for years about what is commonly called the school-to-prison pipeline.

Could one rigged elementary-school election really matter?

Children don’t learn by watching adults, right!

Remember the old sayings: “Do as I say, not as I do” and “Rules for thee, but not for me.”
