I suggest you look up The Strange Death of Europe.
Written by Douglas Murray, in 2018, he explained how open borders and failed cultural assimilation etc. was leading to the demise of Europe. This has come true as predicted. Witness the no kings riots and we realize this has been imported here.
I completely disagree with Murray's pro-Israel stance. But his book that Aijian recommends is really bang on about Europe and has nothing to do with Israel.
Where/when did Douglas Murray support genocide? If you're going to make a statement like that, back it up with quotes at the very least. And how dare you talk so disrespectfully to Dr. Aijian?
How dare I? How dare YOU be so rude to someone who has been so nice and complimentary towards you on here Polly? If you are incapable of using google to listen to all the filth that Murray has said in favor of genocide, that's pretty sad. Not only are you astoundingly unresourceful and rude to people who are nice to you, but at this point I'm wondering how honest you were about opposing genocide yourself. If your stance were truly genuine, you wouldn't troll this page defending genocide apologists and attacking people who are antiwar/antigenocide. Very sus.
I'm anti-war and anti-genocide. And you'll notice I wrote that I completely disagree with Murray's pro-Israel stance. But I dislike you to calling him genocidal. It's a conversation-stopper, like “racist” or “fascist.” And you were disrespectful towards Dr. Aijian, who was one of the very few doctors to cone out publicly against the Covid vaccine, which in my book makes him, if anything, anti-genocidal. If you are liking my stuff here thinking that I owe you likes in return, I don't work that way. No one has to like anything I write. The fact they read it is compliment enough for me.
Not interested in your gaslighting Polly. I clearly wrote "He supports genocide." That is a fact. You then attacked me. You are now claiming I am "disrespectful" towards Aijan for stating facts? Well Aijan is disrespectful towards Palestinians, everyone who opposes genocide, has applauded it in many comments, and said that the reason people didn't go to see October 8 is due to 'godles and demonic forces.' If you truly oppose genocide, Aijan thinks you are demonic. And you might be, given how you treat people on here.
No, I don't expect 'likes in return for likes.' 7th grade much? I have made numerous kind comments towards you, and I expect some common decency and respect instead of you trolling my comments on here and attacking me on the regular. Two times in one week. You're a sick individual and I don't believe anything you write anymore on here. Now keep lap dogging for a genocide apologist and insulting good people. It's what you do best.
The demise of Europe happened centuries ago by the hands of Europeans - not mass migration. It was atheists, liberals, nationalists, and apathetic Christians who killed Europe. Stop blaming outsiders and take accountability
Our local government doesn't care about Santa Barbara, and they certainly don't care about us taxpayers. What dismays me is how many Santa Barbarans still vote for them and their destructive measures. It's the equivalent of being in an abusive marriage. And these same people would take an abusive partner to court - but they accept and even support the abuse from Carbajal, Capps, and co.
Thanks for the report, Schulte! I used to live there (Switzerland) and just like us; they get some things right and some things wrong. Always a work in progress.
I bet they don’t shut off the power grid everytime there is a heat wave or wind.
Henry, did you talk to any European farmers? I would think they'd be very pro-Trump. I just read John Klar's latest column “MAHA is Restoring American Food Sovereignty.” Klar quotes Henry Kissinger “Control the food, control the people.” Klar discusses how the globalists are destroying small farms in Europe. He praises RFK Jr. for bringing food production back to America where it can be monitored against the toxins the globalists want to put into mass produced food. From what I've also read elsewhere, it seems as though the European leaders are not standing up for their farmers or protecting their own food supply. So of course the mainstream media there portrays Trump as a destroyer of all the ”advances” of the WEF, WHO, UN, etc. https://johnklar.substack.com/p/maha-is-restoring-american-food-sovereignty?publication_id=779141&utm_campaign=email-post-title&r=e32x3&utm_medium=email As Klar says “Global corporations justify their hegemony in the name of rescuing humanity, the climate, or wildlife – the very things industrial agriculture devours.”
Polly I did not and wish i had. We did go to a cheese farmer but i was unable to get alone time. Though that operation was also amazing and would make climate change loons happy. what a fantastic operation. A story for another day
I did about the same trip in May. Munich, Prague and Linz. I love Europe and marvel at how much better managed they are. We just can't get anything done. We debate, argue, sue, block and often just for the sake of party membership. It's very sad and ridiculous.
Perhaps the most glaring issue to me in the difference in the quality of the roads and infrastructure. Our roads are in particularly bad shape. Have a look at the road in front of you and count the seconds or lack thereof when your tires are not hitting a bump, patch, crack, hole, etc. It's like driving on a jig-saw puzzle, a constant rattling of your suspension.
In 1982, I recall Governor Jerry Brown signing a bill that authorized funding for a high-speed line connecting Los Angeles and San Diego, with an initial proposed cost of $1.25 billion. However, this bill failed to materialize due to concerns about economic viability, environmental impacts, and the privatization of its construction. In 2008, lawmakers estimated the cost of the San Francisco-to-Anaheim route to be $33 billion.
The ridiculous and unhelpful expenditure of funds trying to solve the homeless crisis has been a financial and human tragedy.
Santa Barbara and California's last half-century have been an unmitigated disaster. Voters have committed unforced errors by electing tax-and-spend buffoons. The business-unfriendly climate is the only climate change we've experienced in this state.
Please, WAKE UP, California voters. Young people, especially, will inherit this state's collapsing infrastructure and debt. You've been lulled and led down a path that leads to financially unsustainable ruin. It's not too late to turn the ship around by electing fiscally responsible leaders.
It’s no wonder people want to immigrate to wealthier countries. Jobs, healthcare, opportunities. But many come because of the free stuff. Medical, housing, allowance.
They are not vetted and they have no ambition to change . They bring all their culture with them. The good and the bad.
I recall a friend from Germany telling me what he thought the mayor difference between Americans and Europeans was. “We have the highest respect for people with education. Americans seem to have the highest for respect people with money.”
Michael. It’s not that we have a higher respect for people with money, everyone just wishes they had their money. By all accounts Europe looked pretty high middle class to me.
I'm curious, what exactly are all these "lopsided views on Palestine"? Not wanting them mass slaughtered so Trump and Kushner can steal their land and build condos?
So you agree his plan there is morally wrong. Let's hope he declines any involvement of the US with regards to war with Iran. You didn't answer my question though. What are the "lopsided views on Palestine" that you referenced in your article?
Have to laugh about the observation that the EU is complaining about the loss of identity, and how dangerous things are getting. The same group that has happily slammed the US as we spent on their protection.
Regarding their rail system. If you want to pay confiscatory taxes the socialist system demands yes you too can have their rail system. No tents and trash? No bums on the streets? Do you suppose what the problem here is a "run-away-train" (pun intended) of massive government grants promoting homeless, with no time limit?
As a fan of the Austrian School of Economics (Von Mises - the anti capitalist mentality as example) I suggest perhaps the Marxist won the battle and Europe would still have many of its attributes without both the expense and heavy handed government.
I could not get past the mention of a bullet train.
In Gavin Newsom's own words, the California bullet train "...requires taking 2,270 properties in eminent domain." (Courts broadly interpret the fifth amendment to allow the government to seize property if doing so will increase the general public welfare. Projects may be public or private.)
The bullet train route swings far eastward, from Gilroy to Fresno, Bakersfield, Palmdale, and finally, Los Angeles. On the northern side, the eventual routes includes areas currently served by Cal Train such as Gilroy or San Jose to San Francisco.
Because of the massive infrastructure required for the track and stations, the route through the Central Valley cuts off farmland from viable sources of water, rendering many many many acres dry and barren.
"Europe is trying to get its countries and culture back" - what is European culture? Beyond superficial markers. What is there to preserve when European nations already embraced - secularism, liberalism, and materialism. What are the fruits of European culture today? What are their values.
I don't know why nationalists love to tout "culture" - and then don't go into what that culture is and if it's worth preserving. Europe even before mass migration was an utter mess devoid of faith and morals - the Germans were heretics obsessed with efficiency and industrialism, the Dutch were the illegitimate state focused almost entirely on mammon, the English spread free markets and corrupt enlightenment ideals, France replaced Our Lady with Marianne... Europe has abandoned Christendom - why should one care if people aren't assimilating? If Samaria and Judah were destroyed for their idolatry and failure to keep the Old Covenant, why then should we see European nations as special?
Theo i must say you have quite the perspective on things. Do you see China allowing Muslims to move in? How about North Korea putting out the welcome for the 20 million we’re sending home. NK would probably love to give them jobs. Only problem is they wouldn’t get paid and like Hotel California could never leave.
Julia. It defies logic how the left can take something and twist it to suit a political ideology. First of all, are you assuming I'm okay with what happened to the native Americans? Can the dead women who were raped and died by the hands of an illegal answer your question? Do the young teens in New Jersey who were hatched to death by MS13 have a say if they ever had a life threatening experience with an immigrant? Do the some 300,000 missing kids who were trafficked in this country are even alive or what hell they are living through. It's a long list. I'm an immigrant. We did it through the proper channels. That's all that has to be done. We want to know who you are and if you have job and are willing to contribute to your new home. Biden allowed who knows anymore, 20 million people in the country. Just imagine if even 1,000 are terrorists. What they're planning right now. There may be a lot more people who might have a life-threatening experience with an immigrant and survive then there are others who will not. They all need to go back, everyone one of them, then apply for citizenship. We cannot be the world's babysitter and having the luxury is not our problem. In the meantime they don't have the luxury of due process. Americans didn't get due process when we were invaded.
So apparently you still don’t favor immigrants in this country. When the Spaniards and the missionaries were forcing the Native Americans to change their culture and customs, that was OK. It seems like you feel that every immigrant is a threat to the lives of white citizens. I wonder if you or any of the commentators here on Santa Barbara Current have ever had a personal life-threatening experience with an immigrant, or even know someone who had a life-threatening experience with an immigrant?
I believe a document that says you have a right to be in this country does not change your character. They just don’t have to live in constant fear. The best way is the right way to come in to any country. Unfortunately some people don’t have that luxury. When their luck runs out, they still have the right to due process and to be treated humanely.

Douglas Murray has no credibility. He supports genocide. Makes sense that you like him.
I completely disagree with Murray's pro-Israel stance. But his book that Aijian recommends is really bang on about Europe and has nothing to do with Israel.

The fact that you see yourself as “good” says everything.
My husband and I have liked Douglas Murray's writing for some time. Thank you for alerting readers of SB Current to his important work.
The demise of Europe happened centuries ago by the hands of Europeans - not mass migration. It was atheists, liberals, nationalists, and apathetic Christians who killed Europe. Stop blaming outsiders and take accountability
When bloodletting was abandoned the whole place went to crap.
The reason public transportation works in Europe is due to the fact that it’s more densely populated.
Mickey Flacks told me the reason we need high density housing is so we’d have better public transportation. Keep in mind she hailed from Chicago.
Personally I’m saddened by what our elected officials have done to Santa Barbara.
Our local government doesn't care about Santa Barbara, and they certainly don't care about us taxpayers. What dismays me is how many Santa Barbarans still vote for them and their destructive measures. It's the equivalent of being in an abusive marriage. “The business-unfriendly climate is the only climate change we've experienced in this state” well stated!
A neighbor recently said that he really enjoys reading you, Henry. I'll send him a link to this in case he misses it.

A very German attitude from the country that gets everything wrong.

Yeah that’s the plan. I knew Trump was up to no good. He’ll get to it right after he fixes the disaster the democrats plunged America into.
So you agree his plan there is morally wrong. Let's hope he declines any involvement of the US with regards to war with Iran. You didn't answer my question though. What are the "lopsided views on Palestine" that you referenced in your article?
