Putin, China, AI…Yawn. Elon and Trump are entertaining, at least. I have closer-to-home worries. Like the eight-story building that's going to be built behind the Mission on rather shaky ground, in a neighborhood that won't survive the traffic, and will mean the demise of the Santa Barbara postcard business. When we do have an earthquake that eight story building is going to raise Pearl Chase from her grave to lead us all out of SB Architectural Armageddon.
Check out the latest “Siteline SB” post today. They show the “footprint(s)” of the two massive structures located about 500’ directly behind the SB Mission. Awful, to think this might be a reality…
Thank you for the link. Erik Torkells who runs Siteline is a smart guy who I like, even though I disagree with him politically. Which brings up something: when I was growing up here politics did not enter into people banding together to save Santa Barbara. Can't we get back to that?
Wars and rumors of wars… keep looking up,for where, and with whom salvation comes. Jesus wept as he entered Jerusalem on the way to the cross. His arrival and Gods plan had been so clearly predicted that it is still mind blowing that the people at the time missed who He was and what was happening. 2000 years later, the world is still a mess, and each of us needs salvation, redemption and transformation. His second arrival will be much more dramatic than the first. Those who ignored Him and put Him to death will have a totally different situation on their hands For some it will be joy, but for most it will be terrifying. We mistakenly focus on the confused people running SB into the ground, Putin, Newscum, Musk and Trump. These are all distractions from the main event of human history. Buckle up and keep looking up
Saturday, June 14th, is not only "Flag Day" - it is also a birthday! No, I'm talking about TACO's, I talking about the U.S. Army's 250th birthday! GO ARMY!! I hope to see you out there waving Old Glory! After his big parade in D.C., TACO will have tanks pre-positioned for his crackdown on those who would exercise their 1st Amendment right to gather for a "redress of grievances." TACO has also pre-positioned troops and armored cars to crackdown on protesters in Los Angeles who are exercising their 1st Amendment rights, and at an estimated cost of $134 million tax dollars. Nevermind the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which restricts a President's ability to do so. Trump has referred to the anti-ICE demonstrators as "insurrectionists" as if he still considered that to be a crime. TACO legalized "insurrection" when he pardoned over 600 felons who attacked and injured police officers in an ACTUAL insurrection on January 6, 2021. So, PLEASE, mount OLD GLORY on your big trucks and join one of the hundreds of gatherings to celebrate the Army's birthday and "NO KINGS DAY"!

Destroying private property? Thugs and criminals trying to harm the cops? Illegal aliens? My only objection is the Marines weren’t called in swinging clubs to ‘disburse’ these law breakers.
Are you talking about January 6, 2021? That was government property being destroyed, not "private property." That is the difference between a real "insurrection" and a "riot." My daughter has been protesting for 3 days among hundreds of peaceful demonstrators who are not "law breakers." She has even shared videos of those marches. Of course, certain so-called "news outlets" are broadcasting on a loop the punks who burned the cars, dropped concrete on police officers, and looted some stores. Efforts are being made by law enforcement to identify and arrest them, just like the punk who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The only difference is these punks are not TACO's punks, so he probably won't pardon them.
If you have Raku, you can enlighten yourself by simply watching "Haystack News." A virtual haystack of news stories from all the major networks, as well as English language foreign press. You can also view one of the many local stations broadcasting in Los Angeles to get the latest weather at the beaches, surf reports, weather in the mountains, traffic conditions on the freeways and updates on the few (5 or 6) demonstration sites. It would appear King TACO is lying when he says "L.A. is burning." Watch the sensationalism and hyperbole of Fox News coverage, than watch a BBC or Australian news story about a peaceful labor union rally that successfully secured the release of a labor leader, or the coverage of one of the large peaceful marches. See the bored National Guardsmen loaded down with combat gear, helmets, and riot shields standing in the heat as Angeleno women swing and sway to a boombox playing "Y.M.C.A." and "F*ck Donald Trump." Of course, if you know someone in L.A., like I do, they could send you video clips of the peaceful protests (my friends are not hoodlums or gangbangers, so I am not seeing a lot of mayhem). My father-in-law was born in Santa Monica, as were most of his family. That didn't prevent some of them from being deported to Mexico in the 1930's during a previous iteration of this same racist, xenophobic deportation orgy.
What we are seeing before our very own eyes is the dismantling of the Democratic Party. The attempted destruction of our greatest city is placed squarely on the incompetence and corruption of Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom.
Gang banging, thuggery, arson and assault on our brave law enforcement, all comes at the behest of radicals such as 86 year old, Maxine Waters while threatening our California National Guard troops to “shoot straight.”
The disgusting reality is, this is exactly what the left wants, destruction, mayhem and Armageddon. Just like a chapter out of Dante’s Inferno.
It is obvious, many of the “mostly peaceful protestors” are paid anarchists, instructed to cause as much damage as possible.
Yes, the left is cheering for our demise, all while waving foreign flags and burning our American flag.
I bet Saul Alinsky is probably somewhere in Hell laughing his ass off.
I read this ANTI-RUSSIAN Article titled "Fleeing Demo Rats! China Beyond Bats! AI-Human Spats! Monaco's Murky Stats" by Robert Eringer and quote from same below>
"Back in July 1980, I was in the USSR sipping vodka with Intourist guides who doubled as watchers. Jimmy Carter had just announced the Moscow Olympics boycott over the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and tensions were sky-high."
"A young Robert Eringer in Red Square, July 1980"
"This clued me into a couple of truths:
Russians are a deeply prejudiced people.
They are scared shitless of the Chinese."
Mr. Intelligence Eringer I have a question??? If you are talkin Russian-Hate why have you not
noticed Russian Organized Crime (ROC) Operating in Santa Barbara?
Why have you not noticed Ukraine Organized Crime (UOC) Operating in Santa Barbara?
And who actually caught the Russians Operating in SB??
Its nice to have alittle chat in SB Current but I would suggest to everyone to Take A Walk
On Wild Side of the Streets of Santa Barbara and just open your eyes to the crimes.

My Goodness! I was wondering where Ehringer got his Russophobia. He was in Moscow in 1980! Apparently, he doesn't think Russia is any different since it shrugged off its Soviet Communist shackles bloodlessly in 1991. For those with a discerning mind and intellect, Russia has changed immensely in the last 34 years. Obviously, Ehringer thinks we should continue fearing a Red Monster that hasn't existed for more than a generation.
Russophobia? First, there's a big difference between opposing a government and opposing the people of said country. One can dislike Putin's government while caring about the Russian people.
Next, in general, people who travel and experience people, places, and culture first hand possess appreciation and superior insight into the places traveled than those who have simply picked up their knowledge from 2nd hand sources like books, TV, etc. So I'd bet that, due to personal experience and interest in the former Soviet Union, Ehringer appreciates the Russian people and culture and was paying close attention when the Iron Curtain collapsed during 1989-1991 and then when Putin began its reconstruction in more recent years - one 180 followed by another (yes, you heard right).
Glasnost and Perestroika represented exhilarating change toward democratic values in Russia, initiated by Gorbachev during times of peace. In the 90's and for the most part the first two decades of this century, the situation was as you describe it. Exciting times for the people of Russia who had resigned their free will due to a long history of oppression (many were never able to shake off this mindset). It's been so sad the past few years to watch these good times unravel at the hands of Putin, who had opposed democratic values and the dismantling of the Soviet Union watching in dismay as the Curtain collapsed. The Red monster has always been there, David, even during those decades of peace, lurking below the surface waiting for his opportunity to pounce, to flex his muscle and recreate the USSR in its glory.
Putin's political leanings are discussed in detail in documentaries from the past and present. Since travel is not feasible at this time, a few good history documentaries might provide better insight than some of the questionable news sources out there.
Hmmm…”Trump's conflict with Musk explodes into a public feud” (NBC News)…what’s up with Elon?
Haha, more Trumpian Kayfabe...In professional wrestling, "kayfabe" refers to the practice of maintaining the illusion that the staged events and storylines are real. It's a tacit agreement between wrestlers and fans to pretend that what they see is genuine, even though they know it's not. This includes pretending that rivalries, relationships, and even injuries are real.
Methinks Elon flipped & is paying down his debt to society. 2011 Shuttle Program terminated by Hussein. Why? US loses SPACE dominance. KILL NASA (prevent SPACE domination/allow bad actors to take down MIL SATs/WW secure comms/install WMDs) - RISK OF EMP SPACE ORIG (HELPLESS)? NASA programs were terminated for a very specific reason.
But it’s more than selling of US SPACE NAT SEC programs & positions.
Was Elon the beneficiary of NASA shutdown? Is Elon the DOD’s biggest contractor? Did Kash Patel state that US greatest and most important assets are up in space and down at the bottom of the ocean?
We found the issue "...high-speed rail — but never laid any track, bombshell report shows” (NY Post)..." most interesting. It is nice that the NY Post finally caught up on the reports of CAB over the years about the failed HSR money hole. No rail? Duh.
How much private land was taken by this Sacramento fantasy, to prove the Dem. majority was right? The HSR authority laid out its failure by stating to make it work there is a tremendous about of tunneling when - and if - they get to the Coastal Mountains. That is just the costs of the tunnels what about the environmental impacts of interfering with ground water paths? Where will the slag go?
The issue of a large city in the Santa Ynez Valley would over-run the very small transportation grid which is basically Hwy 154 - 2 lanes, 246 - 2 lanes, and 101. Doubling the population of the Valley? No amount of "alternative" options could stop a huge impact. Water in the 6 year weather cycle?
But wait Camp 4 (top of Santa Ynez) is planned for a significant development impacting ground water, and adding support services of trucks, etc. Who is doing this? The Federal Property called the Chumash.
As for the foreign intrigue of the article we'll leave it up to the reader.
