It’s wonderfully refreshing to read an article by a politician that is full of data and erudition. Who says intellectualism in politics is dead? Bob, thank you for the facts!

I'd love to see a debate between Bob and our Cartelman - oops I mean Congressman, except Salud will never allow it to happen.

I always say that if government officials had to live for just one year (no travel!) next to, or better yet in the affordable housing, pot farms and wind cities they propose the rest of us live with - we wouldn't have any of this “progressive” bs.

Well, only in California does this insanity occur. Why in the world would this even get to the drawing board much less being approved. Enough we have to get these liberal politicians out of office and out in people with common sense

You said it well..."we need a congressman..." The problem is...we don't have one 🤔 Now, if there was ever a level-headed, common sense, rational conservative running for Congress, then maybe we would have a chance! If only...hey wait, I have an idea...why don't you run Bob...you would be the perfect person to truly represent the position of so many Central Coasters...I'd vote for you 😉

Blessings...and yes, we pray our present Federal Government can quash this stupidity before it gets out of hand. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, and thank you for your service.

Excellent article. But don't forget the "windfarm" now in operation in Lompoc. I've attached a Noozhawk article from last year lauding its opening. Scarce mention of the havoc this with cause to migrating birds, raptors, and the bat population. The article barely makes mention. One neighbor was forced to sell his home because a windmill loomed directly over the property. God help us if -- when -- they are constructed in the channel and migrating humpbacks get in the way.

This is so brilliantly stated I need to listen to it twice! The same whack jobs who decided we should have the train to nowhere, costing billions and ending up not laying a single rail of track, are the ones behind this Folly to destroy the beauty and ecosystem of Morro Bay. We need Bob Smith desperately and we need to get rid of Salud who is just passing wind.

Thank you Cmdr. Smith for shedding light on this ongoing green scam concocted by the environmental industrial complex, headed by of course, the Democratic Party. Where is the EDC, Surf Rider and the Sierra Club when it comes to destruction of our sea birds, mammals and our coastal way of life? Linda Krop, Legal Counsel for EDC, come out, come out wherever you are! Oh, that’s right, when not colluding to put oil companies out of business by filling frivolous lawsuits, she’s taking a paycheck funded by our tax dollars at UCSB. How is this not a conflict of interest?

Yes, the environmental “movement” and its associated NGO’s single handedly have pushed this nonsense along with EV’s on us, all while championing the demise of our fossil fuel industry, along with local jobs. This while simultaneously, Governor Newsom is closing 2 refineries, soon sending our gas prices to $9/gal.!

This, as we sit on a bonanza of energy lying beneath us. The time is now to open up our waters to drilling under the strictest and safest conditions in the world.

The time is also here to expand new, safer, more efficient nuclear energy technologies, all while also upgrading the Diablo Nuclear Power Plant. Why not also take San Onofre out of mothballs?

The windfall in energy royalties could help offset and repair the economic disaster and crushing unfunded liabilities that the left has created and perpetuated on the rest of us.

Time to send Mr. Smith to Washington!

Very articulately laid out Bob. You make all the sense in the world. Unfortunately your great knowledge, experience and common sense values will only serve to make your campaign all the more difficult. The voting populous here on the central coast is saturated with people that have grown up with environmental extremism shoved down their throats since the age of five. They no longer vote in their own best interest, which would equate to their neighbors. Best interest as well, they believe they are saving the world. No amount of facts or historical data will sway them because they are brainwashed in the truest sense of the word. The California teachers Association has done this so if you are fortunate enough to defeat congressman, Carbajal, please make it your mission to bring school choice to California into dismantle the CTA!

I want to close by quoting the lyrics of my son’s third grade “play“ on environmentalism. One line went like this, “if they won’t recycle, I’ll become maniacal“. Needless to say, I had words with the teachers, but this is what we are up against when tens of thousands of students have gone through this type of indoctrination for 12+ years. Good luck I will be voting for you as well my entire family.

I read this article by retired US Navy Commander Bob Smith titled

"Gone with the Offshore Wind" Of course I have a new nautical title

"Dam the Torpedoes and Full Steam Ahead against CALI Political Corruption"

https://www.usni.org/magazines/naval-history-magazine/2014/july/damn-torpedoes

I quote form same > "Congressman Salud Carbajal is leading the charge. He founded the congressional Offshore Wind Working Group. He called the lease sale “historic.” He claimed offshore wind would be an “economic powerhouse for the Central Coast.”

So WHO has got their hands in the Money-Pitt-Wind-Bag-Industry.

Let's all say it TOGETHER > all of the Corrupt Politicians and not just the DEMOs.

Just follow the LAWFARE to know who is CORRUPT >

We don't want those eye sore, wild life endangering, wind turbines in the beautiful ocean along our California coast, just to line the pockets of someone or entity, and to say it's good for our environment and 'clean' air. Think of another solution besides this Congressman Carbajal and others involved. Thank you!

All predicated on the notion that CO2 emissions from the burning of fossil fuel will lead to global warming so extreme as to pose an existential threat to life on earth. But this notion is not supported by the historical record that shows CO2 was generally higher in the past before humans existed. The record further shows that the temperature was higher and lower in the past before humans existed but mostly it was higher and pre human life flourished. So what supports the notion that we are facing a man-made climate crisis? Computer models that are little more than stick man caricatures of the insoluble chaotic system that is our atmosphere and climate. These models do not account volcanism or meteorite impacts which have been the likely drivers of mass extinctions in the past or existential threats in the language of the climate alarmists. While I agree with Mr Smith's opposition to the wind farms, he seems to tacitly accept the CO2 myth. Hardly erudite, his moderate position is perhaps more politically palatable than an outright rejection of the CO2 hoax.

Great review of the downsides of wind turbines, such a waste of time and energy when analyzing over their lifespan, not to mention the death to animals in proximity (birds & sea creatures)…zero point energy can come soon enough…

A note here, the EIR for the Lompoc "farm" stated there would not be enough sustainable wind to make it economic. Went by that location last month and every blade was frozen because there there was not enough wind.

Interesting. And surprising. I lived in Lompoc for 10 years. Every day you could pretty much set your watch by the wind: start-up about 11:00 and winding down mid-afternoon. These monstrosities are being constructed in sensitive areas with no thought to the havoc wreaked. Drive to Palm Springs and look at the desert, what they've done, migrating eagles especially endangered. They went after Lompoc because it's low-lying fruit. Try that game here in the South Coast, in the Channel. Never happen.

Great read on this potential tragedy - leave it to a Mustang * to come up with such a sensible take on the problem.

I especially liked these lines - ” . . . this is not an attack on renewables; . .” - and - “ . . . maintaining and upgrading Diablo Canyon, as well as finding sites for new modern nuclear plants, . . .” Of course nuclear is the answer.

I shouldn’t be surprised, the Commie-Dems would f up a cup of coffee.

Btw - do check out the React website - beautiful site and an easy read: https://www.reactalliance.org

Judges have to allow a certain number of eagles to be slaughtered, along with many other birds and bats, through permits. Who’s counting when they reach their maximum kills? Unconscionable.
