Forgive me for my skepticism, I have lived through the terms of 12 presidents, and although a number of them had promised to root out inefficiency and cut govt waste, none of them did it. To the contrary, almost everyone of those administrations (including Trump in his first term) presided over a govt that continued to grow. Maybe this presidency and this new dept (DOGE) will finally bend the arc of history, however, I won't hold my breath waiting for it in the meantime.

Needs to be sent back to school.
Forgive me for my skepticism, I have lived through the terms of 12 presidents, and although a number of them had promised to root out inefficiency and cut govt waste, none of them did it. To the contrary, almost everyone of those administrations (including Trump in his first term) presided over a govt that continued to grow. Maybe this presidency and this new dept (DOGE) will finally bend the arc of history, however, I won't hold my breath waiting for it in the meantime.
As I've said before - congratulations to Trump and his team for his victory in 2024. But let's also remember that in the past 60 years only Trump (both times) and Clintons second win (in 1996) have presidents been elected that failed to win over 50% of the voters. So a win this time- yes. But not really a mandate.

True and good for Elon. I'm just saying that - in my opinion - one job of the Federal Gov is funding statically risky industries and technologies. If you want to look at those 'investments' on purely ROI for the Fed gov they suck. But if you look at what they do the country, over time, it's a good program.

trump is a bully and has already started to strong-arming Congress to approve his nominees. An example is Markwayne Mullin, who was completely against Gaetz nomination, but after a call from trump, he starts sounding like he’s doubtful and says he has to listen to the evidence. Mr. Steve, you are correct, trump was democratically elected. And as much as people hate it, there will be no storming of the Capital, no ridiculous claims about a stolen election. No lawsuits against Dominion machines. I’m sure if trump had lost this time we would’ve had a repeat of the 2020 whining. Yes, there are many depressed people in the country, but we’ll accept the results like adults. We will not harass and terrorize the election officials. We won’t threaten them, and their families. These election officials were even Republicans, but that didn’t stop the magas. Arizona and Georgia got the worst of it. If you don’t believe me, just check out the documentary “Stopping the Steal”.
