It’s time to act. All Santa Barbara citizens and property owners need to firm their own group and demand changes. This has to stop. Santa Barbara needs to go back to its original roots. NOW
We used to go downtown to eat and shop in Santa Barbara and Goleta decades ago.
We now try to avoid both. The disappearance of businesses there has exacerbated our dislike for the areas. Driving there is a headache. The businesses still surviving are more and more junky, and one is likely to be run over by oblivious riders of motorized bicycles and power skateboards. Parking in Old Town Goleta is a nightmare. The city planners, and the city councils who hire them, have made both areas no go zones. One might hope that the local voters would send them packing, but sadly, these deluded politicians are persistent. The same destructive “ Progressive” and now DSA policies dominate Sacramento as well. Witness the decision the other day to send another $1 billion for the High speed rail to nowhere. How bad will the destruction of our once beautiful area become before sane citizens rise up and “throw da bums out” ?
....or, like me and hundreds (soon to be thousands?) of others, we "threw ourselves out" and left this ship of state called Santa Barbara that has already hit an iceberg.
It’s Santa Barbara city Council and the DSA‘s (but I repeat myself), new way of doing the business of politics. We know better than you so shut up and watch us do whatever we want. Rules for thee, but not for me. The destruction of America from within, something they’ve been working on for a very long time.

Light the torches, heads on spikes next-that is how their side responds to dissent.
Vote them out and all the croonies in Sacramento. That is the only one to change anything.
I think these Council members have forgotten that they work for the people, not the other way around.
