While Governor Newsom gets to put a proposition on the ballot at no cost to him or signatures required, we are the ones billed. Our County and our city have to pay; that is us. Which account will this bill come out of?
Our projected deficit just increased again.
If we wanted to put anything on the ballot, like let’s say reducing the amount City Council and/or County Board of Supervisors are paid, benefits, and pensions. Or a vote to open State Street. We would have to get the signatures required and pay the total cost.
Newsom didn’t have to do any of that.
How do elected officials pay back their donors?
Are you required to give time and photo ops in exchange for donations and endorsements?

The City of Santa Barbara is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as its Mobility Coordinator. This role plays a critical part in supporting the city's sustainability and resilience goals by promoting alternative transportation modes, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing community mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement transportation demand management (TDM) programs to reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips and promote sustainable transportation options.
Administer the city's employee commuter program and develop community mobility initiatives for the public.
Collaborate with regional stakeholders to advance climate goals and improve air quality.
Research and write reports on emerging trends in micromobility and TDM strategies.
Manage grants and partnerships related to TDM, shared mobility, and alternative transportation.
Provide technical assistance to professional staff on transportation planning and policy development.
Coordinate alternative transportation safety education programming and ensure compliance with city plans and policies.
Requirements:
Two years of full-time transportation planning experience is desirable.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Traffic Engineering, or a closely related field.
Strong knowledge of TDM program design and administration, emerging trends in micromobility, and principles and practices of transportation planning.
Excellent communication and project management skills.

UCSB proudly released the enrollment numbers, and you guessed it their numbers are up again without providing the housing. And I have another question. Since we were informed that UCSB was buying the completed 4-story 80 unit Soltara Apartments on Gutierrez Street, do those 80 units go back to our (city of SB) RHNA, (Regional Housing Needs Allocation) numbers? Also, if you notice the apartments on the corner of Anacapa and Ortega have turned into a hotel, same question: do those numbers go back on our RHNA list?

When Mayor Rowse voted no on the additional three million to SBHA for the Carrillo Lot Housing Project that had already received seven million dollars, why is it up at Council on a consent item for three and a half million??
