Well, Well, Well, the City Council has had two more weeks off
Maybe they should look at the schedule of dark weeks before they plan their vacations…
Hawaii will be there the following week.
I’ll get you the total number of Tuesday’s they are scheduled to meet so we can divide their cost to us per meeting.
They don’t work 52 Tuesdays.
While Governor Newsom gets to put a proposition on the ballot at no cost to him or signatures required, we are the ones billed. Our County and our city have to pay; that is us. Which account will this bill come out of?
Our projected deficit just increased again.
If we wanted to put anything on the ballot, like let’s say reducing the amount City Council and/or County Board of Supervisors are paid, benefits, and pensions. Or a vote to open State Street. We would have to get the signatures required and pay the total cost.
Newsom didn’t have to do any of that.

Now let’s talk about the housing crisis
UCSB proudly released the enrollment numbers, and you guessed it their numbers are up again without providing the housing. And I have another question. Since we were informed that UCSB was buying the completed 4-story 80 unit Soltara Apartments on Gutierrez Street, do those 80 units go back to our (city of SB) RHNA, (Regional Housing Needs Allocation) numbers? Demographics and Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) - SBCAG
Also, if you notice the apartments on the corner of Anacapa and Ortega have turned into a hotel, same question: do those numbers go back on our RHNA list?

Remember the $500,000 new sidewalk extensions for the 500 block of State Street Promenade? They have arrived. That is the material cost, I wonder if there is additional labor cost. Visit the 500 block of State Street to see your new investment on the Promenade.
How the government works is they just ignore what was/we said, and they get away with it.
A vote is approaching, and we can change everything, or at least something!

Excellent, Bonnie. Thank you for everything you do for *us,” as opposed to our government which does everything for their own personal gain. You make me feel like being a taxpayer doesn't put a bullseye on my wallet, which is how our “elected” “officials” (can't we come up with better words - how about “grifting” “knuckleheads”?) behave towards us.
Once again, Bonnie, you have nailed it. Thank you for your ongoing battle to show how our city is being destroyed from within.
