Don't know how or why so many people have decided to march under the banner of Hamas – whose leaders are the antithesis of everything most of the marchers probably believe in – but allow me to add my name to their cause. May common sense prevail.

I don't believe this could have happened 10 or even 5 years ago. Anti Israeli / anti semetic protests on campus seem to be organized outside of the university and are attended by many older non-students. It seems like the ultimate goal is the disruption of our society and the division of our people paving the way for fundamental change. The war in Gaza is just the latest vehicle to foment hatred and division. Fundamentally a Marxist strategy to divide people. Anti semites, anti cop, anti white, anti capitalist, LGBTQ+, anti Christian all have a safe space in the Democrat party. It is the 21st century version of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie but today it is a confeceracy of malcontents vs those who support traditional American values.

Mr. Barton very well said. I would add that the recent action is part of a much bigger

theme and plan to maitain control and power. Just who is behind these Unversity societal

disruptions, like many in the past is more revealing.

Well done, these students must be heard.

Power to these kids stating truth. The one thing I sorrow to say they may have said wrong is “it’s never too late to repair…” Their foe has no interest in hearing or living by truth. It is a disease called VMR, Volitional Mental Retardation (if you hate the name, you probably have it) and there is no good way to come to terms with insanity. Nonetheless, we strongly support these students and the fight for truth.

I am a Christian who completely aligns with Israel and the right Jews have to be who they desire to be...without hatred from others. I am reminded that Yeshua was a Jew and loved His people. And so do I. L'Chaim Yisrael

Hear! Hear! I stand with Israel. I stand with our Jewish students.

I despise the murderous Hamas terrorists and any who would support or defend them.

Incredibly sad that people are so ignorant and unintelligent.

These pro Terror group rally participants show their ignorance supporting people who recently killed 35 Americans when they mass murdered 1,200 people in a single attack.

But this is evidence of our k-12 education, indoctrination. Government education is designed to create followers, sheep, non thinkers.

The damage being done to our country goes much deeper than just do e idiot college kids following a terrorist with a bullhorn burning American flags.

The Democrat run education system has turned our children against us.

It’s incredibly sad that they use our children as pawns in their “games”. The people in our government has no desire to unite the people. They use & manipulate us to promote their economic wars.

By extension any support of Israel must mean you support and endirse the killings of over 34,000 Palestinian even though most aren't Hamas fighters.

Support for Palestine=/=Support for Hamas

It would appear that any cause supported by Donald Trump is a cause to be opposed by the left. Any policy supported by Donald Trump is reason to protest, vandalize and burn. Especially in an election year.

I enjoy the back and forth comments on this particular column but have to very much disagree with a good number of the writers who believe that if you feel that the Palestinians are being unjustly treated by Israel you are a supporter of a terrorist group and an anti semite. It has gotten to the point that those criticizing Israel (not the Jewish people as a people) is a no-no. I do, however, think that a certain number of the young people protesting the situation with the Palestinians are being paid to go in and make outlandish statements against Jews and I do believe there are some that are there just because. But I also think that there are those that really are sincere about the deplorable situation of genocide that Israel is perpetrating. America needs to cease all funding to this war.

We Christians are grafted onto the root of Judaism. God’s covenant with Abraham was His plan to offer heaven to all ofhumanity - descendants who carry a shred of Abraham’s DNA, and the majority of humanity that does not. The children of Israel have been God’s vehicle of sending his Son to earth to pay for the sins of every human who claimed that payment personally. We are repeatedly told to bless Israel and Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The Bible predicted that the time near Christ’s return people’s hearts would go cold to the truth and the Jews would be surrounded by a whole world against them. Only God will protect His people and the nation of Israel. The 100 % success of defending them against the onslaught of Iran is the latest example of this. Only a deluded atheist could attribute this to the genius of those engineers who invented the Iron Dome etc.

The State of Israel is just a secular state, it's not the Israel spoken of in the Bible, souls won't be saved through the state of Israel. The British Empire, and later the United States have propped up the state of Israel to fulfill their own imperialistic purposes. The True Israel is the Catholic Church and her people (Christians) are the true chosen people.

I am appalled and disgusted by the actions of so called 'educated' students and staff at our universities. These are the same people who whined about bullying and being made to feel 'uncomfortable' by pronoun misuse??

Yes, it's part of a much bigger conspiracy that we saw with antifa and blm, destroy America. Have any of those perpetrators received 19 yrs for destroying and burning cities?? Allowing that to happen and turning a blind eye has fueled these cretins to indoctrinate uneducated minds to chant hatred and vandalize. Arrest, prosecute and with felony convictions deny them the future they seek.

Our Lady of Fátima: On 13 May 1917 three shepherd children in Portugal reported seeing a woman "brighter than the sun, shedding rays of light clearer and stronger than a crystal goblet filled with the most sparkling water and pierced by the burning rays of the sun." The woman wore a white mantle edged with gold and held a rosary in her hand. She asked them to devote themselves to the Holy Trinity and to pray "the Rosary every day, to bring peace to the world and an end to the war."

Another generation's antiestablishmentarianism - blind vitriol and projection in their own incomplete maturation process. They must target change in themselves; not others. Hold fast, this is very ugly right now but we all have the duty to push back. And protect faith and justice. Silence is not an option.

Resolve and moral leadership is incumbent upon us all. I recommend sitting quietly in the back pews during a service at B'nai B'rith, reading the printed liturgy, and finding our essential human common denominators.

Mr. Barnett, I look forward to the letter by UCSB students you are requesting to be published. I hope to see facts which substantiate your claims as I was under the belief that Jews are the indigenous people of the land(Jew derives from Judea?), that Israel’s society is mixed races, with people from African, European, and Arab countries all with the opportunity to participate in religious, business and political endeavors of their choosing. I was also under the belief that the Palestinian population is growing at a fast rate, so it is hard to understand a 75 year genocide with no decline in population. I thought that this term referred to armed men rampaging thru homes and ruthlessly attacking unarmed men, women and children and killing them in the most brutal ways imaginable. I am also eager to learn about how the US is anti Arab and the reasons why we send billions of dollars in aid to theArab people and nations we so dislike. I am sure the UCSB students are up to the task and have learned this in their ethnic study classes and are eager to educate us with facts rather than catchy slogans.

Ethnic cleansing is similar to forced deportation or population transfer. While ethnic cleansing and genocide may share the same goal and methods (e.g., forced displacement), ethnic cleansing is intended to displace a persecuted population from a given territory, while genocide is intended to destroy a group.

That is, of course, your opinion on how to interpret scripture. I, of course, have a different perspective on scriptural interpretation. Aren't you glad that we live in a country where we can disagree amiably?

There is only one way that scripture can be interpreted, and the authority to pronounce those interpretations lies with the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
