In Santa Barbara, there are restaurants that will not take credit cards, only cash; and other businesses that will only take cards, and not cash. I wish for a list. The other list I seek is of restaurants and businesses that do not allow dogs other than service animals for blind and disabled. Psychiatric support or comfort dogs are everywhere in SB which apparently has a high number of mentally needy. Where’s the Health Dept?

Trader Joe’s and Costco post ‘only service dogs allowed’ and enforce their policy. What other businesses? What restaurants don’t allow dogs? Dogs don’t spend by card or cash. Santa Barbara has gone to the dogs as one comedian accurately monologued.

It would appear that many “mentally fragile” folks in SB forgo having kids by instead having Dogs? Sure seems that way. Dogs in baby carriages…really? Just over the weekend I had dinner with my wife and out of town guests at an upscale restaurant on the beach, with several Dogs table side and even one eyeing my Ribeye! The Dog even made eye contact with me and seemed to dare me to drop something on the floor.

Gimme a break, I have a Dog and have had several over the years, at one time even having 4 Dogs at once, but I don’t expect others to share my affection for them!

Why should the paying public have to put up with our furry friends in especially, grocery stores or restaurants, all because of the owners neurosis? Yes, Dogs can be dirty, having ticks and fleas or in my Dog’s case, smelling like seal blubber after a run at the beach!

Once again, those inconsiderate people expect society at large to conform to their quirky behavior.

Gee whiz, check please and include the Doggie Bag!

You obviously don't subscribe to the Doris Day school thought. Doris pioneered dog friendly hotels by creating the Cypress Inn in Carmel, where canines continue to bring their pet people.

Dogs are our spiritual advisers and, as such, deserve a place at the table. Many humans, on the other hand, deserve to be collared, leashed, and be given treats to reward good behavior and discourage bad.

“Dogs are spiritual advisers,” “humans deserve to be collared and leashed?”

You’ve answered any questions I had about you, Eringer.
