Dementia Pokes Its Ugly Head
I’ve been volunteering for about a year now at a center for people with dementia. All are in various progressions of difficulty. They’re our mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters.
It can be a little emotional to look past their mental struggles and try to envision their world before ending up where they are. Some boggle my mind with how sharp they continue to be, while others have their moments but drift back and forth. And just when you think the person before you is not aware of what’s going on around him, he breaks out in laughter over a joke or sheds tears holding a puppy in his lap.
One thing that’s woefully clear is that in my short time there I have seen changes, sometime rapidly, into the darker regions of their minds.
It’s one thing to be in an environment where you are surrounded by trained people who provide support to deal with your illness. It’s another, however, if you are someone who’s expected – required – to represent and be responsible for the fate of 350 million people.
Why did it take the Left, the media, and the Democrats so long to finally admit what everyone else knew for the last four years? President Biden has been and is unfit to serve in the capacity he was hired to do.
World leaders the planet over were not fooled nor were they concerned that our own country was lying to its people. Those leaders knew it from the beginning. They used it to their advantage. Hence, the danger America and the entire planet is facing falls squarely in the lap of Biden’s enablers and his family for allowing Joe Biden to be the front man for a twisted ideological agenda.
That fact alone is a mortal sin.
When Biden was put on the spot during the debate, he denied anything was wrong. He denied bad guys were coming across our southern border by the millions. The sad truth – as we with common-sense believe – is that he doesn’t know what’s really going on. How Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas (ironically a refugee from Cuba), can lie with a straight face and insist that no ISIS terrorists, no bad guys, have slithered into America on his watch.
One can only laugh and then cry for our country when he proclaims proudly that “The border is secure.”
This migrant rise of rape and murder has been going on in Europe for some time, caused by an invasion from the east brought about through their own ineptitude. They’re like our liberals here in the U.S.; they do everything they can to hide and bury the ugly reality, unwilling to admit they blew it. The citizens of Europe and the Scandinavian countries know. My German family knows. And the American people know it here at home.
But our president doesn’t have any idea.
I heard a woman say that she never liked Trump, but after listening to him during the debate, she reached the conclusion that he made sense. She likened her change of mind to getting lost in the wilderness where eventually you had to drink your own urine to survive.
A rather crass but to-the-point example of where the Left finds itself. Democrats and the Left (but I repeat myself) can no longer hide under the desk and pretend all is okay. Their experiment has failed miserably. Their bizarre world of gender-changing, personal pronouns, Drag Queen Story Hour for Kids is coming to an end. Common-sense is starting to make a comeback.
A big comeback.
If Democrats find another sucker… I mean nominee… to represent their misguided policy to destroy America, I shudder in fear they may still have a chance to win. They refuse to believe that all the corrupt tactics they’ve employed against their nemesis only fed the Beast. The Beast being Donald Trump and his supporters.
It bears repeating that this is and never has been just about Trump, the man, he is the delivery system for what smart Americans are thinking. What they want for their country. Trump speaks for them since government never listens. He charges forward unhindered and fights for their rights. To uphold their freedoms. To protect them from those determined to undermine their way of life.
Maybe this time, with the Left having nothing more in the tank to go after him, he can place all his attention on Making America Great Again.
In the meantime, it’s been long overdue for Joe Biden to sit on the porch and reflect on life. My sincere hope is that it isn’t too late. Without our memories we have nothing. God speed Joe.

Well said. In our town there are still many who cling to the progressive ideology that Biden and his handlers represent. Let’s talk about Carbajal, Newsom, Hartman, Das, Limon, Hart, yada yada. It’s a truly nauseating list which is way too long. These are the people who impose the evil ideologies exemplified by the Biden administration. We need to vote them out, starting at the level of school board, all the way to the White House. The incessant whining about Trump is a diversionary tactic. The ones they despise are most of the readers and contributors to the Current- US. Faith in God, family values, marriage between a man and a woman, the 10 commandments, love your neighbor as you love yourself, etc are the bedrock of our nation. These are the values under attack and scorned by the elites in the MSM, academia, entertainment, and even parts of the church are corrupted. Trump is a symbol, not the issue. So is Biden.
Good article Mr. Shulte! It is indeed a mortal sin but so much worse. I don't have the words to adequately describe the mainstream media, an idiot like Joe Scarborough's radically inverted claims that this is the best Biden ever must ring in the halls of hell as emblematic of how satan wants us to abuse speech, but it is much more than just Biden, look at the pandemic propaganda, the Jan 6th farce, the green agenda, "climate crisis", gender ideology, and so many more society destroying agendas that this corrupted industry propagates like they are getting paid in gold bars to lie. How are so many fooled? The public schools and universities condition the masses in this war of intellectual and moral attrition.
