Jack Smith, and all the attorneys who abused the legal system should be disbarred at a minimum. I would like to see them face criminal charges for this abuse of the legal system..

I hope that these two workers bring civil suits for damages for these wrongful charges by Jack Smith.

Well LamedVav some (?13?) State Attorney Generals just got smacked down by none

other than Judge Chutkan over ELON'S DOGE fight in WASY WASY Town.

Thanks, Howard. She did the correct thing.

Howard Walther's avatar

LamedVav I think she really had no choice Da Law directly

hitting Judge Chutkan in the face here and she is going to

be dealing with a very new DOJ.

The entire reign of the Biden administration was appalling. The abuses of our constitution were a true constitutional crisis as the lib-yards like to call everything they don’t like that is happening in today’s government. I truly believe that President Trump will go down in history as the most transformational president in history. May the good lord protect him those who would do him harm.

Earl Brown's avatar

Brian - Amen! Right on both counts:

a) Biden - _the_ most ridiculous, incompetent, dangerous fool to ever be let near the White House.

b) Trump - except for George Washingotn, _the_ best president we ever had.

While we are focused on every “event” of this new administration, I’m wondering what this audience thinks of this. https://open.substack.com/pub/heathercoxrichardson/p/february-16-2025?r=el2rx&utm_medium=ios

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Robert Johnson's avatar

Elaine, Polly's reaction ("Zzzzzzzzzz") is reflective of the general lack of inquisitiveness of our average MAGA devotee. Even a quote by Senate Armed Services Chair Roger Wicker (R-MS) calling out Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s “rookie mistake” -- when Hegseth offered that the U.S. would not support Ukraine’s membership in NATO and that it was “unrealistic” for Ukraine to demand a return to its borders before Russia invaded in 2014, essentially offering to let Russia keep Crimea -- falls on deaf ears with this MAGA crowd.

As Ms. Richardson adeptly reported, "Senator Wicker said he was “puzzled” and “disturbed” by Hegseth’s comments and added: “I don’t know who wrote the speech—it's the kind of thing Tucker Carlson could have written, and Carlson is a fool.”

Similarly lost on this crowd (because it's too nuanced for the average Trumpster's attention span) is the meaningful resignations (from the Mayor Adams' case) of New York Federal prosecutor (and Republican) Danielle Sasoon and U.S. Prosecutor Hagan Scotten -- a two time Bronze Medal recipient, top-of-his-class Harvard Law graduate, Republican, and clerk for Supreme Court Justice John Roberts. Scotten cited in his resignation letter to acting deputy Attorney General (and former Trump lawyer) Emil Bove, "I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me."

Verily, we are witnessing the erosion of Constitutional law and our civil liberties all while the MAGA crowd stuffs their collective fingers in their ears and, ala Hogan's Heros' Sgt. Schultz, utters "I know nuhzing... Nuh-zing."

Robert, Elaine: I read the substack Elaine linked to. How does that make me lacking in “inquisitiveness?” Because my reaction was: what a lot of tired excuses for why the Democratic Party has failed? What you really mean is I won't get in line with your thinking.

You are the non-inquisitive ones. You never talk about how the Dems have driven liberal people like me away. I was a lifelong Dem. But this is not the party I signed up for. And you guys won't acknowledge any of your own faults.

Elaine, thank you for your comment and for the link. These are the two people that old tired grandpa sent over there and they did nothing but insult, bully and give misinformation. I am starting to pray for Trump to be able to finish his term because I’m feeling JD Vance is a bigger threat than the tired old grandpa. JD wants to judge everybody and everything he wants everyone living to what he thinks is the right way. They did not show any respect to any of those foreign leaders. They are helping tired old grandpa to isolate us, so they can keep on implementing project 2025. He gives a definite Nazi vibe, and as for Hegseth that guy just has no brains.

JD tore them a new one and put them in their place.

There’s a new sheriff in town boys and girls.

Thanks for bringing that up.

JL, I am actually older, I should’ve clicked to that right away. As for the link I thought it was real and thought maybe it does need to be dismantled, but then I saw it was published by Christian News Satire. And don’t call me Shirley.

LT's avatar

Of course the case was dismissed, because it was a sham! Clearly, the Biden DOJ colluded with the White House in order to frame and stop Trump. What was Nathan Wade, appointed prosecutor and sex toy of Fani Willis, from Fulton County doing at the Whitehouse? Yes, it’s all a sham and Merrick Garland has a lot of explaining to do.

At the end of the day, many conspirators from the Biden administration, including Joe Biden himself, need to face justice and ultimately jail time! This is the ONLY way liberals will stop this death spiral.

It is celebratory to watch liberals light their hair on fire. Even locally, we see the same old parade of fools, protesting in front of the Tesla dealership taking issue and calling out us who voted for Trump. What a pathetic band of burn outs, peaceniks and old hippies. BTW, how can a 80 year old male with a ponytail be taken seriously?…just sayin!

Who now are the election deniers?

I read this legal article title "Mar-a-Lago Valet Conviction Dismissed

by Brent E. Zepke, Esq" and I quote from same "You may be asking:

who are these men, what were they charged with, and why? and

"Justice? Nauta and De Oliveira were exonerated, and Donald Trump

was elected, but to quote Ben Franklin, “Justice will not be served

until all those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.”

Mr. Zepke I do not think that your legal interpretation is ON POINT.

Targeting Individuals who are innocent of the criminal charges is a crime

and can lead to Obstruction of Justice charges against those that do.

Howard Walther, Member of a Military Family

Brent's Journal's avatar

Howard, thanks for your interest. The quote was meant to inspire readers who do not have any control over the charging of prosecutors, but do over their own outrage at the violators of the Justice system.

Howard Walther's avatar

Hello, Brent yes I got that. What is disturbing is that Prosecutors have

gone from their usual game of Brady Violations to now Abuse of Process

where they know the charges are false when the file them. That is

exactly what happened to all the folks that were added onto the

Lawfare against Trump, they just tacked on anyone associated with

Trump and knew the charges did not apply to them.

Brent's Journal's avatar

Agreed. I find it frustrating that the only example that comes to mind is the prosecuting of the prosecutor in the Duke Lacrosse case.

Howard Walther's avatar

Brent look much closer to home like Santa Barbara.

Elaine's avatar

What’s amazing to me is that this has nothing to do with the Democrats. I guess those who voted for Trump are all okay turning this country into Hungry…or worse. JD Vance’s comments are chilling. Musk’s support of right wing (and yes, Nazi like) movements here and abroad should make people’s hair stand on end. Does the fact that he has access to your personal information not alarm you? I am left to believe that those with their ears plugged and their eyes closed right now just want a white Christian nation where white men only rule and the corrupt rich hold all the levers. This is about all of us. Wake up. Our country is being destroyed right in front of our eyes. Call me any name you want. It won’t change reality….and it’s ugly.

Emmett's avatar

Deadly force was authorized for the Mar a Lago raid. Very important to know that the deep state has been trying to kill Trump numerous times.

Thomas John's avatar

As is so often in Current writings the author misquotes someone from history. There are no credible source that Ben Franklin said “Justice will not be served until all those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” I only bring these up because I feel it shows that editing and fact checking sources is important. Please don't find someone on X that has the same quote and says it was from Franklin....

Jeff barton's avatar

Such a lame thing to focus on.

Thomas John's avatar

Maybe. But if you can't get simple facts straight who knows about the hard ones.

Monica Bond's avatar

You know, Thomas John, you seem to delight in supposedly finding flaws in various writer's editorials, not on merit of content, but on nit picky things that have no bearing on the facts of the dialog. Do you think that your "source" that Franklin did not write the quote is correct? How do you know it is accurate? I saw several A1 generated and other sources with conflicted "opinions".on this quote. In this day in age it is really hard to believe a lot of stuff that pops up on the internet at face value. You imply that Mr. Zepke's article is inaccurate because in your opinion Franklin did not write the quote in which case you are "throwing the baby out with the bath water. " Not sure who the originator of that quote is.

Thomas John's avatar

So where to draw the line? One mistake? 50%? I do get the throw the baby out with bathwater....

Monica Bond's avatar

Common sense, Thomas John is where you draw the line, not some silly thing about the author, in your opinion, misquoting the "true" author of a quote If you had legitimate arguments to question about the facts of the article it would be more worthwhile to the other reader's than your remark.

Eric Gordon's avatar

TJ, “Maybe. But if you can't get simple facts straight who knows about the hard ones.”

The truth is, there is no hard and fast rule against starting a sentence with “but”—as long as the sentence is formed correctly. Since this word is intended to connect two thoughts together, it’s important that your sentence contains a main clause. That means it should include a subject and a verb and can stand on its own.

“Maybe.” is not a main clause nor is it a complete sentence and can not stand on its own. Also; you failed to end your query of “who knows” with a question mark…that’s 2 strikes

If you are incapable of understanding simple grammar rules, who knows what else your thought process is incapable of? 🤷‍♂️🙄

Thomas John's avatar

Good point. I need an editor too. You need a day job?

What a pile.

This is evil, and the people who have decided their goals are more important than honesty and integrity.

A look at China and Dynastic rule. Almost all of them ended in fire and destruction. (We'll show them....)

And why would you want to support and vote for this same attitude that has been the Democrat Party since at least 1945. Crushing the basic underpinning of the nation and the Constitution seems to be what they have been and are up to today.

I thought prosecutors select people who are charged with committing crimes. Then a judge or jury decides.

Julia Gonzales's avatar

Mr. Zepke, you guys go ahead and spin the story anyway you want, I’m just glad the charges were dropped as they seem to be innocent bystanders, just taking orders from tired old grandpa.

I like the Ben Franklin quote, that is so true and that’s where we stand at the present. Since not everybody has yet been affected by all the firings and cuts in some departments, a lot of people are cheering them on, but just wait until they are affected, it’ll be a different story.
