Muted Mic Be Damned
Lest we forget, J.D. Vance skillfully put on a master class in how to handle biased [CBS] moderators and gracefully handled himself during the Vice-Presidential debate a few weeks ago… Veteran commentator Megyn Kelly called Vance’s performance “a thing of beauty.”
The moderators made no attempt at masking their progressive bent, and this bias was especially apparent during Vance’s commentary regarding the details of the last four years… i.e., Who prevailed over the rising prices and inflation in every sector of our economy? Who opened the gates at the border? This is where one moderator reached down at her console, effectively muting Vance.
I pause here to ask if anyone remembers what a debate is supposed to accomplish. That is, free discourse, flow of ideas, plans, proposals between two people, not a controlled, rule-driven procedure offered up by both ABC (with the first Presidential Debate) and now this one from CBS.
Taking State Street Hostage
Let’s take another look at the price we pay for the partisanship that invades social media, various government agencies such as the CIA, the FBI, and the Secret Service – all formerly regarded as apolitical agencies for the protection of all Americans.
Look at what those in charge have done to Santa Barbara in the last four years. The downtown core of State St has been held hostage by 15 people of the State St Advisory Committee for the last five years, along with an inept City Council driven by and saluting the partisan party policies that brought this about (except for our Lone Ranger, Mayor Randy Rowse).
Ms. Harris clearly is not qualified for the role of president of the United States of America. Her evasion of myriad opportunities to explain her policies in the short time she has been given to demonstrate them is sufficient evidence to reveal her inability to understand or give effective leadership on the national or world stage.
Neither Biden nor Harris have accomplished anything during the last four years. What we have instead of truth and clarity is a barrage of subterfuge and doublespeak. Now she uses platitudes of waxing joy.
He stumbles walking.
She stumbles talking.
Our wide-open borders have “invited” many millions of unvetted people to walk (or fly) into our country. At least 300,000-plus children are lost to the system and have gone who knows where.
Doing what?
Being exploited, how?
Yet Trump is accused of separating illegal families. As they continue to come, they are welcomed to partake of an extravagant dole supplied by the American public.
Stop the hemorrhaging: billions of FEMA $$ spent on unvetted job seekers while victims of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Wilson are left out to dry, literally.
All of Harris’s promises are giveaways of whose money? $25,000 for first time homeowners. She “plans” to build eight million new homes. When asked how she would fund her projects, she gives the same tired response: tax the wealthy. Always with the omission that the wealthiest pay far beyond what middle earners pay, while the poorest pay nothing and sit on the receiving end of all that taxation.
When asked about high grocery prices, K.H. responded on 60 Minutes recently that she’d put a stop to price gouging at the grocery stores. Since retail grocers operate at a miniscule profit margin, just what is she talking about? Again, never a plan offered. Nothing tangible, real, practicable.
The focus on carbon emissions causing climate change continues in this sector. While the U.S. is the cleanest manufacturer of energy in the world, under the present administration, we are not investing in American oil and natural gas, but instead buying it from our enemies, and polluting their countries, and our world. Remember we are the sanctimonious good guys. We insist on clean energy, yet we buy solar panels from China.
Are You Better Off Today?
Dems want to undo the Trump tax cuts, yet those tax cuts empowered the middle class. During the Trump administration, Trump kept Iran's assets frozen, which held back all wars in that region. Biden became president and gave Iran their money, creating a volatile world.
Also brought to you by Harris-Biden: we now have censorship on an industrial scale. We should debate our differences, but The Washington Post opinion section calls for the end of debates, opining that this may not be the most efficient way of imparting information.
What do we need? And what did we have four years ago? We enjoyed lower prices, higher wages, more reasonably priced and accessible housing, more of a secure southern border. All this happened despite Congress not governing the nation, instead trying to find ways of “getting” Trump with two pointless impeachments.
Before J.D. was halted by the CBS moderators, he made one last point: Biden and Trump both agreed that supporting the tariffs to protect American workers was a good idea.
President Biden kept the Trump tariffs on Chinese products in place.
Kamala Harris is on record having voted against this protection.

I only live 30 minutes North of Santa Barbara and only a resident for 18 years. I loved going downtown, eating and catching a concert. I don’t even want to go to the Santa Barbara Bowl! The 101 has been under construction for 18 years. State street is a cluster! And beach parking is a ripoff! The bad experiences have outweighed the fun!
I find it hard to believe with all the availability of information today versus what was available just 30 years ago that people can be so fooled by what is being spewed by mainstream media. We are totally with you on which way to vote! See you at Cody‘s?
