There are certainly a lot of things to reflect on this Thanksgiving; both good and bad alike. A lot of mending and healing to be done in this country and let's hope that this holiday will start that process for all of us.

Thank you Andy for a thought provoking piece. We are all optimistic that as Lincoln famously said, “God has remembered to have mercy on us.” Indeed, we as a people are ready for some mercy, having just endured the worst and most destructive administration in our history. Lincoln also famously said during his second inauguration speech (paraphrasing) “good does not always prevail over evil.” Yes, my father’s Democratic Party has become an amalgamation of evil. Promoting a sick and vile theocracy. Even though we have endured this phase in history, Trump should be cautious in retribution against those enemies from within that would do us harm. Even Lincoln was scorned for suspending Habeas Corpus and jailing journalists.

Yes, the left has been at war with the American people and our way of life for some time. Everything from our environment, by our way of storing of water for energy and consumption to limiting our ability to produce energy from coal, oil, gas, including our ability to refine petroleum. War with us over the teaching of our children, with vile and disgusting theories, contrary to our religious values and beliefs. War with us over our foreign policy, so much so that we are on the verge of world war. I look forward to the day coming soon, when the “Rainbow Flag” will no longer fly over our Embassies abroad and we as a country can lead the world in a force for good.

Yes, “Mercy” cannot come soon enough!
