Trump asked for our help to carry out his vision for us.

It’s time we get engaged and involved.

“A Republic if we can keep it.”

I held my breath today, having watched too many predictions that some dire event might prevent Trump from taking the oath. This well written article sums up where we are as a nation. Those of us who believe we can now look forward to a turn-around have to remember that half the nation will commit themselves to undermining the best intentions and goals set forth in the inaugural speech today. Those people need to be convinced by positive success, and the time to get on with it is immediately.

Lincoln famously proclaimed during his second inaugural address ; “With malice towards none, with charity to all.” Lincoln’s sentiment does not square with much of the American public today. With all that has been said and done over the past four years; all the misdeeds and lies, it’s time for healing yes, but there must be some payback and retribution for the actions of the guilty.

Trump said Success is the retribution he seeks.

Since he was shot he’s been less “I” focused and more “we” focused

As I read the well done article I have on the inauguration and am feeling optimistic for a

new start for our country. Thank you, Mark, for the timely message.

Mark, you're up against the inauguration. Tough time slot.

This is a really great article giving a juxtaposition of what could have been. Neuro science? Want to bet Mr. Rock's motor synapse were firing for the past 4 years?

"... series of erratic appointments, ...." is an understatement.

The last series of pardons just announced today from the last minutes of the failed Biden White House is a classic example.

Attempting to protect the in-protectable Biden opened each and everyone of these people the removable of 5th Amendment Rights. If called to testify before courts or Congress they cannot state the "5th" and if they lie they can be prosecuted.

The opposition had to chance to at least give a logical position and instead allowed demented and irrational positions and actions that hurt both the people and the nation.

Well done.

Mr. Rock, you seem to be well-versed on the transgressions of the past presidents, but it seems you skipped one. I see nothing about the Trump administration. Nothing about the corruption that ran through the administration, the repeated lies, the self-serving trump agenda.

Then you dare to say that people are rotting in jail for strolling through the capital. How did so many law officers die? Who are all those insurrectionist and seditionist crawling up the walls of the capital, breaking windows, attacking police with flag poles, even cattle prods. What is wrong with you? trump and his magas have made everyone fear the immigrants. Trump constantly talks about the enemy within, well let me tell you who that that enemy is? It’s the proud boys and the oath keepers and people like them, that’s who we have to fear. And you can bet there are people like them now helping to run the government. By the way, he just pardoned all of them. Now that’s a betrayal.

Julia: There was no "corruption" that I'm aware of during the Trump administration, certainly nothing like the corruption in the Biden regime (that required a full pardon for all his family). As for "How did so many law officer die?" I don't believe any did. One unarmed citizen did die though, shot by a Capitol police officer. As for those climbing the walls of the Capitol building, they were accompanied by and egged on by "undercover" government agents. You're getting all the wrong information about the event, probably from the J6 Committee propaganda hearings. You need to broaden your sources.

JL, you’ll know soon enough because after trump, which I will now refer to as sharpie guy, promised, he’s going to deport all the criminal immigrants, he pardoned 1600 criminals, they’re insurrectionist and seditionist. Many of those are violent, that includes Stewart Rhodes, leader of the oath keepers, and Enrique Tarrio, leader of the proud boys. He in his inaugural speech, he talked about betrayal. How do you think police officers across this nation feel about sharpie guy calling these people patriots and hostages, and not making them answer for their crimes.

Right now sharpie guy is on TV holding one of his many press conferences to come. He doesn’t know how to keep it short. Give us the facts and don’t start rambling?

He’s announcing a $500 billion investment in AI. Ask a regular person, someone struggling if they think this is great investment. They’ll want to know? How is that gonna put groceries on their tables, gas in their cars, Clothes on their back?

I’m starting to think you’re addle brained, but I forget you live in the Sharpie guys bubble. You only hear the lies he spews. The J6committee did their duty. This is why Biden gave them pardons. He knows sharpie guy will come after them. No records were destroyed. Those people had backbone, not afraid to stand up to sharpie guy.

What adult doesn’t know how to use a pen?

Mark - excellent article. Belongs in the Wall Street Journal.

That ridiculous Joe Biden - what a utter fool. Boy am I glad Trumpy made it - now maybe the good ol' USA can get back on track and down to business!

Mark has too much faith in the American voters. They could easily elect someone worse than Biden (hard though that is to believe) in 2028. Never relax because a President Newsom or Warren is always a distinct possibility when so many people are looking for free handouts or government to save them from their own failings.
