I love that you find time to write such well researched articles. Something you never see from the left when watching or reading their work. The fact that there’s no balance to their work always makes me worry about the intelligence of the American Public and how they allow themselves to be so easily deceived. It is truly depressing. Keep up the good work. We love hearing from you.
Thank you for your wisdom and spreading the word during this difficult period in time. Hopefully all will go well and Trump will once again be in the White House. Unfortunately I do not believe the Dems will give up and accept what the American people want. We will see what today brings.
Harris voters want to keep their hands on the taxpayers check book, to keep spending that money on themselves. $800 billion dollars a year going just for public education. Teachers unions consequently have a direct, immediate and existential interest continuing this unaccountable Democrat grift. Extend this self-interest to the rest of our 23 million member, and growing, government workforce.
Last night on the Joe Rogan and Elon Musk interview (recommend watching the entire 2.8 hours) Musk sets out this self-interest better than anyone. Musk contends Biden has injected very large percentages of illegals and Biden expedited entries, primarily locating them into the current "swing states", with the goal of granting immediate citizenship in order to turn the current swing states permanently blue.
Musk's warning this may well be our last contested election before Biden-Harris policies turn this country into what has already happened in California, a one-party supermajority with only token Democrat primary offerings to maintain a window dressing vestige of a voter choice.
This is not an extreme projection at all. It happened here, and it has happened to us locally. The wrong turn in this very election means it could happened quickly to the rest of the country since Biden-Harris has already demanded we absorb 20 million and growing numbers of new "swing state" residents.
Great comment and perspective as always, JL! Currently doing the happy dance! Too bad SB voters have their heads in the sand. I can't believe Measure P passed. Can't believe All-About-Me-Oscar won (what a....I'll refrain from writing what I want to write here). Can't wait for the Current's article hopefully coming soon!
In 1776 it was the status quo for Kings and centralized control. In the 1960's it was the we need government to "give" us freedom (think about it). From 2000 on it has been government by the small thinking Left saying government has to give you minimum wages, forced density housing that kills communities, narrowed streets and forcing you out of your car.
The small thinkers say government will give you. The expansive and free thinkers say what can the latest technology give us answers? Bio Tech is almost 100% with the answer of plastics, the Medical Tech has almost the answers for many cancers, and the list goes on.
But not the small thinkers who ignore population trends, are willing to take your rights, and then tell you how great they are as the iron fist of government continues to choke society.
What are you? small thinkers? Or expansive thinkers?
If you haven't voted for the the 1776 Liberals isn't it time to vote for what makes this nation great?
Quote of the day from Conservative Treehouse: " Now is the moment to stop accepting the things we cannot change, and start changing the things we cannot accept!"
Thank you for the excellent summary Jim, it serves as a stark reminder as to how screwed up our nation has become!
I have tried to analyze the psyche of the average Harris supporter. Admittedly, it is complex and very difficult to rationalize as to why voters would favor the truly abysmal performance by the Biden/Harris administration. What’s to be in favor of? Raging prices and inflation, soaring crime, devastating illegal immigration, Europe on fire?
In the end, I have no explanation as to why responsible adults would support utter failure and despair. My only takeaway is some adults are triggered by Trump, that much is obvious. I am curious as to how these average Harris voters view male authority figures? Interaction with their own Father? Could it be the adolescent portion of the brain takes over and as teenagers do, they revolt against authority? Sure that’s it, they throw a tantrum when they are told by their Dad to clean their room, turn down their music, get a haircut and stop smoking weed in their room! Maybe if they’re threatened with taking away their allowance (in the form of higher taxes) they’ll come around?
Are we in for a Civil War 2? Anyone study the mentality of both the North and South back during Civil War 1? Was it a war of feeling superior, a righteous sense with regards to blacks being slaves. Just wondering if there are comparisons to be made of the past and present mentality. Only difference I see is the past North and South slave war is now the entire country war between Democrats and Republicans. Should we be stocking up on ammo?
The idea of voting for DJT, makes no sense to a lot of people. For them, the idea of putting him back in a position of power is horrifying. The idea of such a vengeful man being in a position of near unbridled power (thanks to his bought and paid for Supremes) is scary. Maybe Fox and Newsmax hasn't covered his desire to be "dictator for a day," we know they have downplayed his tieds to Project 2025 and carried water for his lies about the election.
Can you imagin one person, republican or democrat, having the power to replace thousands of government employees with their own crew? Putin might like that but I know no real Americans who trusts any man, much less a total nutjob like Trump, with such authority.
Maybe some people want the government in total chaos by doing things like getting rid of the ACA without a replacement plan, or dismantling lots of federal agencies like the DofEd without long-term plans.
If for no other reason, many Americans are choosing Harris because they value our Constitution and democratic republic and know that Trump values neither.
Gee, it looks like a coordinated response from left-wing partisans. All these comments came in virtually together. How do you guys do it? And, do you receive your talking points from a central source? If so, where is that source situated? I'd really like to know.
PS: Funny how most of those now strident voices were persons Trump had to terminate , in his pursuit to have the best people around him. Trump finally did hit its stride and introduce a new wave of competent conservatives to the American people.
You list is missing a lot of people who were on his team, who do stand with Trump, and stand with him vigorously. Why is that? Go long on Trump, is my only advice to you. You will not regret your change of heart.
These men were the best people. They were terminated because they were not yes men and wouldn’t stroke his ego. The ones that came later and stood with trump were yes men and every bully needs stooges to do his bidding, no matter what.
I find it fascinating that since I neither like nor respect Donald Trump, Mr. Buckley labels me a left-wing partisan. I can't help but find that childish and will not reply with anything equally discourteous.
In case your question was in earnest, I get my talking points by watching Trump rallies, watching congressional hearings, listening to leaders speak. Add a bit of BBC, Christian Science Monitor, Financial Times, Pew Research, CNAS hearings, and info from a few of the top journalism schools in the US and Europe. Thanks for asking.
BTW, Tom, I am an Independent who is a fiscal conservative, social moderate and concerned about the health of our planet, food supplies and water sources for future generations. I say that makes me an American. You can label me however you want, if it helps make your day a little better.
Turn the sound off and consider Trump's promises made, promises kept. That is what we hear; not his entertaining and popular rallies for those who remain his solid fans. Why are you so obsessed with his popular rallies and ignore his stated policy objectives.
Why would you even rely on those and miss where all the real action has taken place - in his long string of valuable accomplishments: controlling the border, the Abraham Accords, exposing the Deep State, lowering taxes, cutting burdensome regulations, jumpstarting the economy, bringing together and entirely new coalition of American voters, bringing in conservative and private sector energies and insights, curtailing stiflling government bureaucracy........... but you chose to ignore all that. Why?
Excellent commentary and so well-articulated. How can anyone with any common sense vote for Harris? This election should not be a popularity contest for Prom King or Queen. Vote for someone who is capable.
Mr. Buckley, you ask why people are voting the Harris/Walz ticket. I thank you for providing an example of why. You are rehashing the same old trump rhetoric that has been going on since he “LOST” the 2020 election and even before that. People are tired of hearing trump and his “oh, woe is me” speeches. His supporters are willing to look the other way with his bad behavior and speech, because he has allowed them to do the same. I’m talking about the MAGA’s, not the actual Republican Party. He is old and losing it. His MAGA advisers don’t care, they want him in office so they can stroke his ego and get him to do what they want. Did you MAGA’s see one of his last rallies where he was having trouble with his mics? He called the crew stupid, complained that his arms could not hold a handheld mic for extended periods, he was having an actual tantrum like a 5-year old. Of course the MAGA’s will say they did not see trump enact fellatio on the mic. As I said, he is a whiny baby who is losing. I did take exception to one of your remarks about the Mexican drug smuggling cartels. Believe it or not drug smuggling out of Mexico is international including the USA.
Julia: The cartels have taken in tens of billions of U.S. dollars via charging thousands of dollars to nearly every single one of the "asylum seekers" invited by the Biden-Harris administration over the past three and a half years. The drugs and the rest of the contraband illicitly dragged over and under the border is just incidental cash.
I need to correct one sentence where I say he is losing, I meant to say losing it. It’s like when trump said all Mexicans were rapists, you’re making it sound like Mexicans are the only ones bringing drugs into the USA.
Julia: He never said "all Mexicans were rapists." Please. He did imply – and charge – that there were an abundance of such people being escorted into the U.S. however. And, he is/was right!
Oh. I distinctly heard Mexicans were rapists. Also, there might not be such a big drug problem, from whoever is bringing them in,if the demand wasn’t so great from U.S. citizens..
Dan: His hyperbolic statement that he'd "have that done in 24 hours" is quite different from claiming "all Mexicans" are rapists. The former is a meaningless self-assured boast, the latter would be cruel and demeaning if he actually said such a thing, which he didn't!
LOL. If this is your team of Trump naysayers, I am only reminded how happy we were to see them taken off the Trump team.
It was a pretty rough early learning curve before Trump hit is stride, while dodging bullets from the Deep State and the Obama leftovers sabotaging him six ways to Sunday.
10% for the Big Guy..... was one of my favorite recent presidential quotes. Or even better, under the Biden administration there are no American troops in any foreign wars. Shall we continue?
California voting is bought and paid for is all I can figure! Who in their right mind keeps voting for the people who have made this mess! The propositions are worded so yes, means no and no means yes! Our representatives are laughing at us all the way to the bank like the garbage they think we all are! Joke on us people! Wake up!
Transparent California reveals for every publicly funded agency in California, this is a "happy mess", for the many now on the government payroll. Why wouldn't they vote for this to continue?
Jim, the answer is simple. They are voting for Harris because they hate Trump. I hope Trump wins today but if he loses it's because he is extremely unlikeable to the majority of voters.
Depends- they are government employees feeding off the taxpayer gravy train. Plus, there is a heavy sense of oppressive censorship in this town to show support for Trump.
We did not put our Trump signs out this time, after immediately in 2020 getting slapped with a pre-printed RACIST sticker on in in less than 24 hours. We work on the presumption Democrats are crazy and too invested in Trump hatred to even bother triggering them this time.
great article! I have asked myself the exact same question and my perspective is that Harris/Walz voters have failed the test or life lessons on critical thinking, discernment (understanding what is true and what is not), unity (standing together in spite of others having different ideologies than you), acceptance (accepting others even if they think differently than you) and lastly compassion(being kind to each other regardless of your party affiliation). Sadly this is a sizeable population.
As usual this is spot on
Vote and pray
That’s all we can do today
See you all at Cody’s

Self interest of Harris voters is not too hard to understand. We pay and they play. Why wouldn't they want this to continue?

Personally, I listen to a great number of former cabinet, staff, ambassadors, his own vice president, lawyers and
military appointments that Trump made while president.
Aside from Stormy Daniel’s, none know of his abilities and character better than they do.
He stated that “I only hire the best”, yet they all warn of having him serve another term.
Nuff said for me.

Well, he never said "all Mexicans." No one would say such a stupid thing.
Hi Jim, I researched it and yes you are right, Trump never said "all Mexicans."
However, on a CNN town hall he also said in May of 2023 that he will meet with Zelensky and Putin and, "I'll have that done in 24 hours."
Dan: His hyperbolic statement that he'd "have that done in 24 hours" is quite different from claiming "all Mexicans" are rapists. The former is a meaningless self-assured boast, the latter would be cruel and demeaning if he actually said such a thing, which he didn't!
Jim, you gave your three favorite October Trump quotes. A few of my favorites from the Donald himself:
“They’re eating the cats and dogs.”
“I’m going to protect women whether they like it or not.”
“They don’t know how to write good.”
And on his cult: “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose voters.”
And I'd like to add a few quotes from members of Trump's past administration. To wit:
"He (Trump) fits the general definition of fascist" -- John F. Kelly, Marine General and Trump's White House Chief of Staff.
"Fascist to the core... the most dangerous person to the country" -- General Mark Milley and Trump's Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff.
"Unfit to be President" -- John Bolton, Trump's former National Security Advisor
"Take Trump seriously when he suggests using the military against U.S. citizens" -- Mark Esper, Trump's former Secretary of Defense.
"It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year" -- Trump's Vice President Mike Pence
"He's a fuckin' moron" -- Rex Tillerson, Exxon CEO and Trump's former Secretary of State.
Hope this helps. Now go vote!
LOL. If this is your team of Trump naysayers, I am only reminded how happy we were to see them taken off the Trump team.
It was a pretty rough early learning curve before Trump hit is stride, while dodging bullets from the Deep State and the Obama leftovers sabotaging him six ways to Sunday.
Elephants have good memories, remember?
10% for the Big Guy..... was one of my favorite recent presidential quotes. Or even better, under the Biden administration there are no American troops in any foreign wars. Shall we continue?
Trump admired Hitler’s generals. Now that he's been elected let’s hope he gets a few just like them.
California voting is bought and paid for is all I can figure! Who in their right mind keeps voting for the people who have made this mess! Jim, the answer is simple. They are voting for Harris because they hate Trump. I hope Trump wins today but if he loses it's because he is extremely unlikeable to the majority of voters.
Anyone choosing Harris, hates America even more.
Really? Now that your side has won, you still gonna describe me like this???
It's simple. Harris voters are voting for a welfare check. Not a mystery...they simply don't care about all of the issues you listed.
I look around SB and see plenty of Harris signs in front of 1, 2, 3, 10 million dollar houses. I doubt those folks are voting for a welfare check.
Those are people voting for the “poor downtrodden plebeians “ to get welfare checks at somebody else’s expense. It makes them feel good
Depends- they are government employees feeding off the taxpayer gravy train. Plus, there is a heavy sense of oppressive censorship in this town to show support for Trump.
