The old saying “what goes around, comes around,” seems very appropriate when considering the plight of the terrorist, Islamic State of Iran. With the blood of hundreds, if not thousands of Americans on their hands, Iran finally got what it had coming! Yes, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, never knew what hit him and finally was held responsible for the waves of deaths and terror around the world. To which I say, good riddance!

Kudos to the brave men and women in the US military for bringing down this evil regime and keeping us safe. Proving once again, that the US military is the greatest force for good and freedom in the world.

Why is it then that liberal Democrats are chanting for our enemies? Amazing how many on the left seem to actively root against our country. What is the relationship between liberal campus demonstrations, violence, anti American sentiment, and the Republic of Iran? Interesting is the ties Iran has with our adversaries; China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Hamas, Hezbollah, the list is a who’s who of the world’s state sponsors of terror and mayhem.

The fall of this evil empire will bring in a new, golden era of peace, freedom and prosperity throughout the Middle East and beyond, all made possible by one man….Donald J. Trump!

SantaBarbarian's avatar

The triumphalist tone and self aggrandizing hero narrative with American involvement is odd.

Iran isn't going to accept any western interference in their government, they removed the Shah of Iran in 79' because they though he was a western puppet. Trump even said he doesn't particularly care if Iran becomes a democracy just as long Iran serves American interests.

Over 160 people died when the girl's school in Iran was bombed the day the attack began - a bomb dropped by America. Is that what we condone, and is this the cost of "freedom"?

Oh please, enough with the hand wringing by white liberals while in the safety of their beach side condo. No, what is really “odd” is marginalizing the thousands marching in downtown LA and other places in support of a free Iran. Why is it the left is more than happy to burn down our communities in support of a “Free Palestine” but look the other way for the people of Iran?

SantaBarbarian's avatar

I'm not interested in what aboutism or what the left does, they don't live in my head rent free.

Loweg's avatar

Anti-Isreal seems to live in your head, Santa Barbarian. Prove us wrong.

SantaBarbarian's avatar

I am an American citizen, I don't swear allegiance to Israel.

GM's avatar

That was from IRGC that killed children in that school.

Iran killed 30,000 of its own people in 3 weeks for protesting their government.

Iran people wanted Iran to be bombed so that there could be a regime change.

And they are celebrating that they are free.

Do you know what the Khomeini and his cabinet did to women, beat them oppressed them, mad them cover there bodies and faces, killed homosexuals abused children.

Thes people are the epitomy of evil and have been in power since 79.

These are evil people who after 3 talks would not reduce their nuclear capabilities.

They had Intelligence and they had to act.

There are evil people who will do harm to other people. It is a fallen world.

SantaBarbarian's avatar

No, it was us.

"Analysis Suggests School Was Hit Amid U.S. Strikes on Iranian Naval Base

The Feb. 28 school strike in Minab, which killed dozens, including children, appears to have been part of an attack on an adjacent naval base in southern Iran, where officials said U.S. forces were operating." - [https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/05/world/middleeast/iran-school-us-strikes-naval-base.html]

GM's avatar

You go with that. Propaganda from Iran we shouldn't believe.

SantaBarbarian's avatar

I'm not sure why you insist America or Israel is trustworthy, especially Israel given they lied about not killing Christians in the Holy Land during their war with Hamas.

GM's avatar

Did I post that? No,so don't make assumptions and sling trash because you don't agree with what I write.

SB’er, IF it is true as you suggest, that the US military was responsible for ACCIDENTALLY bombing a school, and the killing of children, then it will be followed up by a formal investigation and restitution, resulting in possible court martial under the UCMJ. This, as opposed to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard/gangsters executing some 30-40K political dissidents.

Shame on you for not knowing the difference!

Wrong Howard. Why is it that the narrow minded view of the Middle East is so pervasive? Do you not remember the modern, pro-western societies in Lebanon and Iran prior to the Islamic revolution? Islam, as interpreted by demented, evil Mullahs is the problem, not the United States or western cultures.

Only the genius of Trump would be to go after the criminal regime in Venezuela, secure the oil reserves for the US, then go after the theocracy in Iran…all while sticking it to the Chicoms!

Howard Walther's avatar

LT, I get it. The Problem here and now is that you have to PRIORTIZE WHAT EVIL YOU ARE GOING TO BLOW UP FIRST. Donald better first look a little closer to home because that EVIL is sitting right next to him. Deal with the Evil in your own country BEFORE you go out and Destroy the Evil in another Country.

GM's avatar

After 3 talks with Iran, they still refused to reduce their nuclear capabilities and weapons of destruction.

Guess what this is the 3rd evil person that has been taken out. Maduro,Mencho and Now Khomeini et all.

Iran was a beautiful properous wonderful place to live prior to '79.

You good with Iran killing its own people over 30k in 3 weeks for protesting their government.

Irananins are celebrating the collapse of this regime.

It never ceases to amaze me just how prescient Alexander Hamilton and all, were in the 1800's , to be able to look ahead and imagine the need for these laws being utilized hundreds of years later....Brilliant minds. Only flaw I see, is they missed "term limits".

Loweg's avatar

Have you analyzed in depth what "term limits" did to California, Barbara. We have had them for several decades. Term limits have been the worst possible addition to our form of government: of the people, by the people and for the people. You may want to dig a little deeper into who exactly benefited from the "term limit" vacuum. Does the unelected bureaucratic fourth branch of government have any meaning to you?

SantaBarbarian's avatar

I think this war is one that has no purpose beyond promoting Israeli [i.e, not American] interests. The fear mongering over Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon is to me absurd, these people are not stupid, if they were to fire a single weapon on American soil, the retaliation would annihilate every single square inch of Iran.

6 American service members are dead, countless Iranian citizens will die before this is over, and even the sinking of the Iranian warship off in international waters after partaking in some naval exercises seems like a senseless slaughter, why are we doing this? If you're a pragmatic, and I am not - but for those who are, you have to think that this will be disastrous for the mid terms on top of Trump's already sinking popularity with the immigration enforcement.

I really don't think anyone but Israel benefits from this, can anyone prove wrong?

GM's avatar

This will help you understand the capabilities IRan has to annihilate the entire Middle East.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_program_of_Iran

SantaBarbarian's avatar

That's irrelevant to us as Americans if it were true - and we were close to an agreement with Iran that was of course annihilated by this attack on their government. All we've done is create a martyr and we have upset the Iranian people.

GM's avatar

We weren't close. How did the US create martrys in Iran?

The Iranians regime created that once they took power in '79.

Don't worry about the Iranians they are ecstatic they are not ruled by that evil anymore.

Have you not seen the celebrations worldwide even on Wilshire Blvd in LA. Thousands of Iranians were in the streets celebrating.

Once you look though these moments not via a blue lens you can see the real truth

I commend to you Marco Rubio's prescient warnings in 2015. The cost of doing nothing is far greater. Iran, as a singular force, has already caused decades of unaccountable death, chaos and destruction. Which will continue.

But those granted are only opinions, in equal counterweight to your own opinions. The game changer is the fact Iran's closest ME neighbors are now aligned against Iran. They may know better than anyone else does and are willing to join in this action. Yes, we ,know the price of doing something. Not sure you understand the price to doing nothing.

SantaBarbarian's avatar

I am not interested. Go elsewhere loweg.

Howard Walther's avatar

Hello Mr. or Mrs. Santa Barbara. I think your comment "The fear mongering over Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon is to me absurd" is misplaced. The Sole Issue here in the

decision to use Extreme Military Force is if the Country is a "Real Threat" to the US.

The "Nuclear Weapons" or "Weapons of Mass Destruction" are just phrases for the Regular Folks to address Long Standing Problems by a Country like Iran, or in the Past Iraq or now Venezuela and I am certain other Countries are on that list like Cuba. The Threshold for "The Threat" could encompass many problems listed in Mr. Caldwell's Article. However, that said President Trump stated many times that "Iran Cannot Have a Nuclear Weapon" again invoking "The Nuclear Threat Scenario" as past Presidents have done. So let's see the proof that Iran was developing Nuclear Weapons and show the Satellite Photos and other evidence to the American People before we literally destroy another Middle East Country. Words by Politicians are cheap and many lie so show us the Evidence. Listen to these contradicting Statements>

GM, I had family and friends in the middle east. The only certain evidence

of Iran's Nuclear Bomb Plans is held by the CIA and Mossad and I for one

would like to see that. Mossad has been killing as many of Iran Nuclear Scientists for a long time which indicates they were working towards a Bomb but now I would like to see some definitive proof which the US has one way or the other.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassinations_of_Iranian_nuclear_scientists

https://www.twz.com/news-features/top-iranian-scientists-killed-by-secret-weapon-report

GM's avatar

Week you can start with Wikipedia it will explain it. Besides Nukes ,in Iran, they have weapons that can annihilate the Middle East.

Maybe the real reason besides the Mid East,is that China gets many of their resources form IRAN.

GM's avatar

I also have family in the Middle East. And have Iranian acquaintances who are here for work but their family lives In Iran

Howard Walther's avatar

Than, you are aware of the many on-going assassinations of Iran Nuclear Scientists. The US and Israel know exactly what stage Iran is in developing

a Nuclear Bomb. I just would like to see some of this before US goes out

destroys another country. I get it Trump cannot reveal anything to the DEMs & to Congress like what happened in his last term with Ukraine.

GM's avatar

Some stuff is top secret and not shared with the general public for security measures.

So we want to share our intelligence with other countries and so that bad actors can get those in their hands and use it on us???

Some info cannot be shared and unless you have a top secret security clearance ,don't expect that information to be shared on the MSM.

GM's avatar

Justin M. Ruhge's avatar

Yes, this threat from the Muslim dictator in Iran is not new. It has been going on since the 1950.

Trump is doing something about it instead of just placating the threat.

Brian, for that EVIL you speak of please look a little closer to home like Santa Barbara and the State of California. We do not have to go to some far-flung Country to find EVIL that is all around us in the Good-Ole-USA. Bringing in 15 million Illegals by the Past Administration where now we have those Crazy Jihadists in our Midst creates another Lil Ole Middle Eastern Tribal Warfare right here in America. Pretty soon we will be just like Iran a Country we are blowing up and destroying now.

GM's avatar

There's more to why Iran was attacked then Illegals in a country.

Don't worry US has now proven that we are strong and nobody should mess with us.

daniel Heald's avatar

This behaviour by America is wrong. It goes against the Trump campaign speeches of no more policing the world. Look at other conflicts around the world, over many centuries, violence never is the answer. Sure there is a winner of the war. The "victory" unfortunately just surpresses one side until that side feels emboldened to rise up once more against the oppressor.

Surely by now we as a people have learnt this. Can we please try some thing different.

Christian has been fighting the Muslim since 1096. It will take a long time, perhaps as long as it took to get here, to remedy this and guns, ultimately, won't do it.

The fundamentalist muslim clerics leading Iran are being matched by an equal fundamentalist christian idiots in the USA.

Love is a better course and how that might evolve will need better brains than the sychophants surrounding our weak, pathetic "leader".

SantaBarbarian's avatar

Fundamentalist Christians are a tiny, vocal minority of Christians that mostly come from Protestant Evanglelical [and Zionist as well] traditions. Why do you bring up a few people with bad ecclesiology and theology when these Christians are new and do not reflect almost 2000 years of Church tradition?

"Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate. He's weak and he's ineffective." Trump prognosticated in 2011. Then...

"Now that Obama's poll numbers are in a tailspin, watch for him to launch a strike against Libya or Iran. He is desperate!" Trump tweeted on 9 October 2012.

Then on 25 September 2013: "Obama will someday attack Iran to show how tough he is."

For the record: I am not against the strike against Iran, as it is/was/and-yet-may-continue-to-be one of the world's most oppressive regimes. Yet we all should ask ourselves, "Why now?"

To me there are three reasons. One: Trump's poll numbers are in a tailspin. Two: The looming mid-term election. And three: To push the Epstein files "below the fold" in the headlines.

Why the latter?

A little over two weeks ago 65,000 pages of the Epstein files, previously made publicly available as part of the 6 million-page tranche dropped by the DOJ in January, had somehow disappeared.

Most of those files were re-released last week with the exception of 37 pages that included FBI interview notes from a victim/witness from 1983 who testified that Trump sexually abused and physically assaulted her when she was a minor (she was reported to be between 12 and 15 years of age at the time).

If this accusation is true--and I believe it is--is that reason enough for Trump to launch this war with Iran now, when he could as easily have waited for an "October surprise"? You decide.

SantaBarbarian's avatar

I think we have opened up a can of worms that we will come to regret by attacking Iran. We had the leader of a soverign nation assassinated, Israel claimed responsibility for attacking the constitutional apparatus for electing a new leader [through 88 clerics], we have bombed other government and military targets - if this continues I fear a military junta controlled Iran without civilian or even clerical/administrative oversight, and I see factionalism and sectarianism risining out in parts of the country.

I am reminded of China in the Warlord Era, when cliques and governor generals assumed control over cities and provinces with the central government unable to do anything. Even after China was nominally unified under the Republican-Nationalist Kuomintang, Chiang Kai Shek spent much of the Nanjing period playing warlords against each other and seeking to bring them to heel.

I only predict a more unstable Iran and middle east because of American meddling, and that Trump says he wishes to be involved in the selection of a new leader is the height of insanity- the Iranians rejected the Western backed Shah of Iran in 79'...

This title reminded me of the reported quote from an unnamed American Major, "it became necessary to destroy the town to save it" during the war against Vietnam. That war accomplished nothing other that devastating the lives of millions.

We were told we had to visit an orgy of unhinged destruction on Iraq to prevent Saddam Hussein's unhinged use of WMD. No evidence to support those claims was ever found.

Libya's Qaddafi disarmed his country, but he was met with devastating war on his country and sexual mutilation and death.

Clearly, the message from Israel and the US to leaders is that if you do not get nuclear weapons, you will be sacked and your leader killed.

It can feel comfy to wall yourself off in an echo chamber, but the only way to understand what is happening in the world is to listen to a broad range of perspectives and seek objective truth despite the intentionally generated fog of war. I recommend considering the perspectives of people like Prof. John Mersheimer, Col. MacGregor, Col. Larry Wilkerson and Tucker Carlson.

I hope the author, who I respect on other issues, can explain how the Iranian regime that came into power in 1979 can be blamed for the attack in Lebanon on occupying soldiers, something permitted under international law and the natural law of self defense. Why was James Surch in Lebanon? I pray that God has mercy on his soul. I pray that God has mercy on all of our servicemen and servicewomen who are being ordered to attack civilians and civilian infrastructure in Iran right now. I pray that God has mercy on all of our souls for failing to stop these immoral people who empower Trump, Netanyahu, Witcoff, Kushner and the rest of the Epstein class to direct our foreign policy in a way that will collapse our economy and make us even more hated for being a participant in yet another genocidal agenda against yet another sovereign country in the region.
