I can't believe anyone, on any side, cares enough about Harris to write anything about her. This is like talking about the weather a year ago.

Well, John Thomas, the point of Mr. Zepke's writing (some might say obsessing) about Kamala is, of course, distraction. Namely, distraction from the multiple failures of our current Grifter-in-Chief, be it his promised release of the Epstein files, inflation, the wars he promised to "end on day one," the pay-to-play pardoning of myriad criminals ranging from crypto billionaire "CZ" to British billionaire Joe Lewis to George Santos to the J-6ers to the depending-if-she-sings Ghislaine Maxwell. And the point of the nascent war with Venezuela? -- more distraction. Buckle up.

Mr. Johnson, you are entitled to your own opinion but not to your own set of facts. I wrote the piece because of Harris blaming everybody else for her defeat rather than her own record which, by the way, includes 4 years of her administrations failure to release the Epstein files.

Well she saw it fit to write a 300 page book about herself. Personally, I never get tired of reading what incompetent fools are the Democrats.

I think it's still relevant to discuss her because she still considers herself a viable candidate and it's a horrifying possibility. Luckily, (I think) with Newsome (misspelling intentional) lusting after the White House the way he is...the two of them will end up savaging each other and neither of them will survive as the '28 nominee. But putting down the crystal ball...I'm surprised the author forgot a main plank in her promises of expertise at the beginning of her term. Like the border czar, she was also the figure head of the ship that sailed with the cannabis industry. Remember that? It must run chills down the spine of cannabis supporters just how far the pendulum swings the other way now with the new hemp laws banning a trace of legal THC in hemp products. Other than that omission...I found it a good article.

I have trouble, (yawn) staying awake while reading anything about Kamala. For the life of me, I can’t understand why a politician would write a novel, then have a subsequent book tour about their own failures and incompetence!

The California governor’s race is about to get interesting as the word on the street is that the knives are out between Gavin and Kamala. Ya, don’t think it’s a coincidence that authorities hauled off Gavin’s former Chief of Staff to jail for embezzlement. This could get messy for Gavin…let’s hope so!

In the end, Kamala will fade into irrelevance having screwed up our economy so bad. I mean really, “The Inflation Reduction Act” was no more than a payoff to all her homies!

As for Kamala’s slippery husband, Doug Emhoff, Kamala might want to keep an eye on him, especially when around the hired help,…nanny’s, maids, personal trainers, gardeners etc.

"Book sales" can be used as money laundering pay to play devices. Probably needs a separate investigation to see if there is a kick-back payola element to these remarkable sales by all failed Democrat politicians.

How many "best sellers" does Michelle Obama already have in her name? Chaucer's front door book display table would be virtually empty most of the time, if not for one more Michelle Obama latest "best seller".

Why the obsession with what is OVER? What about NOW? What about inflation and the cost of living? What about the self (trump)-made explosion of healthcare costs? What about the abuses happening in the name of border control? What about the grift and greed of Trump and the mega-rich? (Not to mention the grotesque gold in the White House) What about the willful destruction of our history (not all of which is pretty)? What about the lies that are spoken by the administration which are so obviously lies? What about the alienation of so many of our allies? What about the sheer cruelty of people like Steven Miller? What about more murders due to lack of any gun control? What about the obvious cover up of the Epstein files for whomever was such a low life as to have participated? I keep thinking there will be some even measured reflection. Kamala? Really?

Inflation is down significantly from 2024 and close to the 2% target rate. The explosion in healthcare cost can be traced to Obamacare. How is it an abuse to deport an illegal alien, it is called law enforcement. It is Trump's gold and he can put it where he wants. The only history Trump wants to destroy is that destruction caused by Democrat governance. Why do you really hate Trump so much? Are you afraid of losing your SNAP benefits? Is your government check at risk? Afraid of losing your Medical?

Totally twisted but that’s what you choose to believe. I’m not at all afraid for myself. How cynical of you to point to losing SNAP benefits or healthcare. If you were one of those people targeted, you might have a very different point of view. Do you not have ANY compassion for those who are suffering?

Do a little homework on the SNAP and healthcare issue. I understand you have the Democrat talking points down pat, but take a moment and look at the data and the history of Obamacare and the SNAP program.

If you support those programs, you would necessarily have to at least marginally agree that they have been grossly abused and are in desperate of repair if they are to be preserved going forward (i.e., 186,000 dead people currently receiving SNAP) That would require a degree of objectivity.

It's one thing to repeat empty political talking points... another to actually sit down and look at the hard data. Clearly this is not the forum to debate details.

Quick question...do you support illegal aliens receiving taxpayer supported benefits, i.e. the $9.5 Billion CA spents annually on medical services for illegals?...other than a plane ticket home?

Did it ever occur to you that healthcare is expensive because the government throws money at it in the name of affordability which naturally drives up the cost. Same thing with college tuition being driven sky high by the unlimited availability af government student loans. There is truly nothing so expensive as that which the government has sought to make affordable. Good thing for the Democrat party that many are economically illiterate, it is the voting base of the party.

My point is not that the Democrats had it all right. It is that THIS administration is not doing anything to fix the problems. All it does is blame Obama and Biden. Nothing is being done. There is no plan and, worse….Trump is making the problems (inflation, healthcare, immigration) WORSE. The Republicans are in charge. You have all the power. What are you doing with it? That’s my point.

What are you smoking? The words of a true idiot. Inflation is way way way down from 2024. I bet you do not understand that low inflation does not mean that prices are going down but rather that price increases are minimal. Illegal immigration is essentially zero, something the Biden administration claimed they needed a bill to spend billions yet Trump the genius did it without no stinking bill. I am not sure what healthcare problems you are referring to but I am sure your ideas are informed by nothing

Hard to claw back government handouts but if the government just stopped subsidizing healthcare the costs would go down. Thought experiment: if people paid their own healthcare bills providers would charge what is affordable to the average person or go out of business. The only need for insurance would then be a high deductible plan for catastrophic injury or illness. Of course the bellyaching of the Democrats over losing their handouts would make me sick.

JB, the ACA is also extremely popular with Trump voters, as well as MAGA voters. It enjoys overwhelming support of a majority of voters.

Affordable care act increased my premiums to $1000 per month. I don't care who it is popular with, it increases cost and reduces quality of care. Socialized medicine is hugely popular with the healthcare industry and especially pharma. How else to cash in on all the chronic illness caused by vaccines if not bankrolled by the government. No point in making people sick if they cant afford the treatment. Quite a racket.

The Harris commentary is if nothing more than a commentary on the failure of the former administration to exercise control and management of the government.

Negotiation of treaties is a boast of the Governor of the no longer great state of Calif. If the quote of the Constitution is correct (I believe it) then the Harris statement is not true or in direct violation of law.

As the computer control and "physical printers" have developed the ability of the bad guys to make and sell guns has basically made the issue of government taking of them in the process of reducing gun violence moot. It has been reported multiple times in the last year of ghost guns being confiscated by criminals. Among those criminals are the rioters you see on the streets.

When the like of Gates states climate change is not the primary issue facing the world it means the long term facts of the sky is falling groups is working against them.

You have Blue states across the nation who are literally "driving" themselves into long term debt that has two options. Reverse the welfare state and the communal governance. OR Continue as the State of Calif. has done for decades building costs that are unsustainable as we have seen with repeated $Billion deficits.

The comment on confiscatory inflation is clear.

Thanks again for a step wise view.

Inflation's dirty little secret.

Democrats and their government employee unions never care about inflation, because they get automatic COLA. Such a sweet deal, a back door to an automatic raise due to inflation they themselves created by their continued reckless fiscal policies

Democrats have built in a "heads we win, tails you lose" into their political majority advantages. From your local school boards on up the government union-bargained food chain. One more reason Democrats fight so hard to sit on both sides of the public bargaining table.

When a government employee's total compensation package (aka cost to taxpayers) goes up due automatic COLA, along with any increasing pension and health care payments, they got a "raise". And since taxpayers are required fund these additional government employee union-bargained expenses 100%, we the taxpayers did not get a raise.

Heads they win, tails we lose.
