AMEN!

So well said! Where do you find a “Christmas Tree” prior to Halloween?

I want one!

It took a while to pull the trigger, but about 15 years ago we bought a fake tree. We've had it ever since. Comes with the lights and we decorate it with about 500 ornaments. Or at least it feels like that. :) The upside is no mess and we can put it up early. If I had my way I would keep it up all year. My wife does draw the line by New Years.

Love the sentiment but putting the Christmas tree up at Halloween is too early for me

Have a merry Christmas one and all

Merry Christmas Mr. Schulte!!!

We (us observers) were very aware of the war, groups that represent less than 5% of the population waged. Christmas Parades became holiday parades (forget the reason for the season).

The snarky attitude of these minorities was (and to this day) how dare you. It is clear.

I'll make the point that there are plenty of places in the world you can live, and not have to hear Merry Christmas. China, Afghanistan, Iran, and more to the point where you will be thrown into jail for the words.

For my goods friend Alan, Andy, Issy, who always wishes me a Merry Christmas it is always appreciated.

Good item ....

OH and "To All a Good Night."

I'm exactly the same.y Christmas Cards say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays. When greeted with a Happy Holiday,my response is Merry Christmas. And during the Holidays I always thank someone with a Merry Christmas and always receive a smile back.

We set up our tree after Thanksgiving and leave it up until Epiphany as they do in Europe to celebrate all the majesty of Christ's birth.

Tomorrow is the Solemnity of Christ, King of the Universe - a special day established by Pope Pius XI in response to the increasing secularism, and explicitly anti clerical sentiments that had long been brewing in the world, but especially since the enlightenment.

While it may seem "good enough" to say Merry Christmas as a means of pushing back on the secular world, given that Christmas has already been reduced to mere gift giving, winter aesthetics, and music, it isn't. We need to acknowledge Christ as King over all, our hearts, homes, and nations.

A brief history lesson - in 1648 came the end of the 30 Years War, and with it the peace of Westphalia - from which the modern nation state emerged, one where the Church no longer had the authority over the nations. Today, we live in the shadow of that peace treaty, especially in America - whose founding documents makes no mention of Christ and which was founded on the principles of a secular state and religious pluralism - don't just lament the culture that ignores Christ, lament the system that subordinated The King of the Universe to the state, and who did not enshrine him as the True God. After all, is it coherent to lament a secular culture offended by God, when the very foundations of this country omit him? Food for thought.

Is this what you're talking about, Henry? Just after I read your beautiful reflection, this reel popped up on my Facebook page. Watch through to the end, "Some Children See." Tennessee Ernie Ford with Timmy & Lassie, December 25, 1958 broadcast.

Of the seasons I like fall best.

Harvest time. And if the harvest was bountiful, everything will be alright. I can see why we have Thanksgiving.

For those who hate Christmas and all associated with this particular holiday, I hope they also forgo taking any paid "Christmas vacation" as well. That would be conspiring with the enemy.

Otherwise why justify getting two whole weeks or more as paid winter break time off? Back to the offices, you anti-Christ humbugs.
