Mr. Brown, wonderful to see you back in the game!!!

I'll start here.

The Tajiguas Recycling Project ---

A Joke of massive proportions. It was a left show and tell from the start. 3rd District Supervisor takes a trip to Germany on taxpayer money to see how they are doing their trash handling. In the mean time a Santa Barbara resident (Mission Canyon), a Democrat, a Ph.D., a close friend of mine, and one of the worlds Bio-Mass conversion experts sent repeated letters to the County stating he could fix the problem, and make money for the County in the process. The 3 Sisters ignored him and went on their merry way.

Imagine what the long term outcome would have been if they had listened to him!

You ask 10 questions this world expert had already answered in his proposal.

Climate Alarmism---

The group I belong to, Cars Are Basic, found a amazing peer reviewed study looking at global warming and the supposed average temperature of the earth over thousands of years. The outcome was and is the average temperature of the world was and is 4 degrees warmer then alarmist have stated. We referenced this study, sent copies of it to the County BOS, and the Santa Barbara City Council. Never once has either body referenced this study. We also referenced the Spanish Climate records that stated long term heat and drought caused the destruction of the Ranchero system, crippling the economic basis of the then Spanish Empire on the Pacific rim.

Your statement "This natural cycle is ignored" is right on.

The Budget ---

August 2025 reviewing the BOS Budget and proposed wage increases CAB stated the County was broke. Not one Supervisor addressed out statement. In November 2025 the County officially recognized it was and is bleeding red ink and they are in essence broke.

Mr. Brown, thank you for this and speaking out. Looking forward to your next post.

A brilliant analysis, I can't wait for part 2. Hope you will also mention the big pay increase they gave themselves recently.

We should think about how this article and part 2 can be used to the greatest effect to compel action. I have never before read such an explicit take down of the incompetence and political malfeasance of a public service body. Where is the Santa Barbara Grand Jury in this litany of incompetence and misuse of taxpayers' money?

Publishing in Santa Barbara Current is not enough to deal with the anger taxpayers must feel at the multitude of failures described here, with more to come.

You need to come out of retirement, Mike. In fact, we need many, many more "Mike Brown's" in public office. Maybe then our County and State could correct course and we could be pulled out this Leftist dystopian (and dysfunctional) nightmare.

Very much appreciate Mike Brown’s acumen when in comes to calling out SB County waste and fraud. Would like to know Mr. Brown’s take on “The Chumash Marine Sanctuary Act.” Specifically, this federal act empowered NOAA to grant UNPRECEDENTED rights to a indigenous tribe of over 4500 square miles of federal waters, prohibiting oil exploration, banning much of commercial fishing and granting authority to the Northern Chumash Alliance which has come under scrutiny about members not having direct lineage to the tribe.

Has this Act passed by the Biden Administration in its last days, amounted to a sham between Environmentalist groups such as the Sierra Club, EDC, Surf Rider and others, all codified with NOAA?

So oil exploration is banned by this ACT, but wind farms are green lighted causing massive damage to sea mammals and birds?

These are some of the questions I have every day. They’ve made it impossible to ask these questions and with no real news coverage that is allowed to ask questions of candidates or incumbent. They do not have to defend any of their positions or policies. It just seems people don’t care anymore.

It would be nice to have someone such as yourself running to be our city administrator in order to bring these questions up before these elected officials each and every week.

Can’t wait for next week’s edition. My only hope is that the people/voters see it and start thinking about these questions for themselves.

Mike Brown. What we wouldn’t give to have your steady ideas throughout our government! Let’s make common sense common again! It baffles me how many smart and competent people inhabit our beautiful community and yet we have allowed truly the most incompetent and inexperienced to govern us. At what point do we say enough is enough?

Michael my man.... always well researched. At what point is the pain enough to realize the damage of "feel-good failure" among the do-gooders, who are voted in, by low informationites? We used to call it a "circle jerk"! Crude, yes. But descriptive. Of course, they won't read your piece. What a shame. John
