You can draw some interesting conclusions about folks, simply by whether they display the American flag. The fact that people are pouring INTO this country tells you a lot. Those who claim that America is such a bad place rarely move permanently to another country. Even prominent lefties, who now promise to leave the country if Trump is elected again, are not likely to make good on their phony promise. America is still the freest country on earth, with the greatest opportunity to thrive. The recent arrivals from socialist, communist, and banana republic countries are the ones most aware of the alarming trends here. Listen to them. There is really no better place to go, so let’s fix the country we’ve got!
I absolutely agree. When it comes to America I'm about 2 steps to the right of John Wayne, fly an American flag in front of my house, have a decal on my car, and a true love for our great country.
I hope you either take the flag down at night or have a light on it. It's amazing how many people end up disrespecting the flag while trying to show their pride and be patriotic.
According to research by the libertarian leaning Cato Institute, the top 10 “freest”
Countries in the world are as follows;
“The countries that took the top 10 places, in order, were Switzerland, New Zealand, Estonia, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.”
Let's compare the immigration policies of them all. Their price for "freedom" may well be strict border security and concentrating their resources on their own residents. I certainly know this having been a legal guest worker in Switzerland.
Let's learn from their best practices. Though "open border" Sweden is now having serious misgivings, And Switzerland is getting tatty around the edges too.
We definitely need strict border security like in Australia and other countries with annual visitor guest worker permits (which I hear Saudi issues also). Each year incoming worker must be “eligible for re-hire, and cleared my immigration”. At the end of employment year, guest worker — if eligible to be rehired or to work elsewhere within the country— is issued a one year reentry permit. What’s wrong with US?
Start with protecting its own borders and a homogenous internal culture. Shared values and traditions is number one, which allows greater tolerance of a range of viewpoints. They still agree color within the lines when they claim to be "libertarian".
Since when did libertarians care about a homogenous culture, traditions, or indeed the welfare of the the communities they live in? I don't recall libertarians being a fan of collectivism or solidarity.
Don't forget CA and NY are only two states out of the whole 50. The are the primary argument for keeping and strengthening the electoral college; not eliminating it.
CATO: “The changes in the areas' scores over time are based on a comparison of the same 123 jurisdictions for which we have data in 2000 and 2021. The countries that took the top 10 places, in order, were Switzerland, New Zealand, Denmark, Ireland, Estonia and Sweden (tied at 5), Iceland, Luxembourg, Finland, and Norway.”
Estonia might soon become the poster child for "too much freedom" - limited government is not no government. Free and competitive markets do not let gangsters put their thumbs on the scales.
Personal freedom differs from economic freedom. The CATO “data show that there is an unequal distribution of freedom in the world, with only 13.8 percent of the world’s population living in the top quartile of jurisdictions in the HFI and 37.6 percent living in the bottom quartile. Human freedom deteriorated severely in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Most areas of freedom fell, including significant declines in the rule of law; freedom of movement, expression, and association and assembly; and freedom to trade.”
Human freedom also abdicated rather quickly during the "covid" hysteria. Hope someone does not patent that formula for instantaneous and mass capitulation.
They are 'pouring into this country' because they are terrorists or after the tax payer funded benefits given thanks to the libs in office. We are in for a VERY rough time ahead. ps...I want to know who is organizing the tens of thousands invading....they didn't just wake up one morning and say 'let's head to America'. Food, water, transportation, CELL PHONES. Or the Chinese, Korean, Islamics coming in......hummmmmm
Who cares if America is the "freest", it really isn't that great. Liberal and leftist ideologies have prevailed in the culture war, abortion is present in many American states, the free and liberal markets lauded regularly on here more often than not do nothing but silence and shun conservative beliefs, just look at tech tech companies that deplatform and shadowban individuals regularly for wrong think. Perhaps Malta could be considered free, at the very least Malata unlike just about any other democracy have safeguarded the lives of the unborn.
No thanks. I am highly critical of America but that doesn't mean I don't want to see change motivated by my own beliefs. I am not okay with the social and moral decay that conservatives have allowed to go on in this country.
Also how typical of an older contemporary conservative, rather than address anything someone with an opposing viewpoint says, you mock them and tell them to love elsewhere for daring to criticize a nation that cannot even uphold conservative values.
The Tomis, you posted you’re Catholic and in your twenties; you often posted you’re pro-birthing. I respectfully ask: How does abortion directly impact you? How does a private, personal female stranger’s decision about birthing impact you? I’d appreciate insight into your mindset.
Abortion is an issue of the family. It isn't just about a mother. As a Catholic I am a defender of life at any stage, regardless of race, sex, age etc. And as Catholics we stuck up for the most vulnerable and marginalized, those who often cannot stand up for themselves. We are a community, a society, and allowing others to do as they please without concern for the dignity of all people is disturbing. Our actions affect others and we should always strive for what is true and good. If we as a nation do not support the right to live for the unborn, we can hardly call ourselves "good" people by allowing children to die simply because it doesn't necessarily impact our lives? Morality isn't just about a concern for whether one's actions impact us on a person level, it's about objective moral truths and reaming stalwart in our beliefs in these truths that guide us to what is right.
Do you oppose slavery? Why should you as a westerner oppose the slave trade (which still happens in parts of Africa and Asia)? Why do you care about someone who lives thousands of miles away from you?
I was once an infant in my mother's womb, I could have been killed had she so desired that, why shouldn't I stand up for others like me? And I am man who hopes to become a father one day, reproduction and child rearing are the shared responsibilities between a mother and father, neither is greater than the other, neither deserves more parental rights than the other.
Thank you for sharing your personal religious perspective. The weekend news clip of the private taped conversation between the two SCOTUS Justices Roberts and Alioto may be of interest to view. They chatted about whether we are a Christian nation, and where Jews and unaffiliated citizens fit in. Perhaps one or two decades from now, American women will gain Constitutional protections including right to privacy and ownership control of our lives.
And how exactly do women not have privacy or ownership in their lives? Only when women want to infringe upon the unborn child in their womb does anyone actually go "hold a minute, this doesn't seem like a moral/ethical thing to do, put on the brakes".
Public education is the equivalent of public housing and public transportation. Nobody who has experienced the alternative wants anything provided by the government. The widespread ignorance of those under 40 years old is astonishing.
Public health has a place - providing community wide services. But making demands on the individual, even using the band-aid of "community concerns", has no place in government funded public health.
I concur, JL. I understand the need to provide basic healthcare for those who cannot afford it. I am just opposed to the interference by gov't and insurance companies in our healthcare decisions. When BSofCali has the guile to call me and tell me that it is time for me to have a procedure or preventative exam, etc, I am calling BS on it. They are not my doctors and it is between my doc and me ONLY as to how my healthcare is managed.
Of course if we could just convince the Democrat kiddies that would rather live somewhere else to move how great would that be. I had a high school person who was of that conviction. Moved to Latin America and loved it living on the inflated dollar vs. national currency. That was until the radical Communists started making life for "Americans" difficult.
All of a sudden the good 'ol USA did not seem so bad. They moved back and now live in the conservative state of Florida.
If we can just convince Democrats stealing money from others with taxes to support illegals, and those who have decided to turn on - tune in - drop out (yep '60's language) is not a great idea and working for private industry is best you might see a turn around.
I define myself as an American. I do not define myself as a member of any political party. But that makes me increasingly rare. I know more and more people who define themselves first by their political party, not by being American. This is one of the worst, most divisive things to have risen in this country. Do I dream of leaving this country? No, but I do dream of taking a time machine back to an era that wasn't a Cold verging on Nuclear Civil War. Back to a time that was far from perfect but at least there was a respect for freedom of speech and differences of opinion. In the 1970s I became friends with Mickey Ziffren. Her husband was head of the CA Dem Party, but he said she was the more powerful Democrat. One day we were talking on the phone and she said she was going to lunch with Nancy Reagan. I sputtered something about how could she have lunch with a Republican? “Don't be an idiot, Polly,” she said. “And if you only have lunch with people you agree with you'll remain an idiot your whole life.” We are currently living through an idiotic time in which idiotic politicians get us into idiotic wars, idiotic economic policies and idiotic lockdowns - and if we don't start listening to each other as Americans, not political party members, we're doomed to go down into idiocy tyranny.
I read this article by Mr McCalmont and I quote near the end “In the same poll, young Democrats (but not young Republicans) expressed far greater trust in the United Nations than in the U.S. military.
If you want to know what “America” is about I provide this action by Medal of Honor receipt Ryan M Pitts and I quote “I saw the greatest men I've ever known personify this passage, men who placed themselves between us and the enemy to protect and defend their Brothers. Our fallen exemplify this most greatly as they fought to their last breaths to ensure the rest of us could return home. They're the real heroes and it is their names you should know:”
Youth are confused, that is by design. Look at how much Left policies & ideologies are to divide the people. For example, calling ALL white people racist. In SB, Just Communities taught Hispanic children that white conservative males were the cause of their families problems.
I find it Ironic, the party that voted against every civil & women’s rights bill are now the party pushing for gender confusion in youth and sports taking away from women’s rights. And the only women defending women’s rights are not Democrats.
The party that seems to not be able to elevate minority children’s academics after decades of “trying”. CA is ranked 44 out of 50 states in education. I’m sure a Democrat will pipe in and make excuses for that statistic.
Look at their talking points. It’s all about hate, no logic, no plans, no uniting the people. All divisiveness.
Elections are a popularity contest and they promise free soda & no homework to the people. When you question that, since soda is unhealthy and homework builds good study & work habits, they call you a racist. They do not offer scientific studies showing their promises are good for the people.
And after the election you don’t get the soda!
Dems are smart in their campaigns because they target the emotions, not rational thinking. And the people fall for the empty promises.
Newsom has to pay back $53,000,000 in healthcare he provided to criminals, illegal aliens. Free to illegals, which should have been a red flag to any tax payer, but the emotions won.
If you break the law you are a criminal, right?
If you aid a criminal you are guilty, right?
If you use public money to aid illegal, criminals is that using public monies for an illegal purpose.
If the State is engaged in using tax payer monies for illegal activities do you have to pay taxes? You are helping the criminal activity by funding it.
Why not use tax payer monies to open immigration centers with lawyers to help speed up the immigration process? Because that would be the legal & ethical way to help illegal aliens?
Absolutely brilliant piece! I read it twice and hung on every word! I thought I was sorta educated but had to look up some words like quondam and inerrancy. It’s now obvious that I’m now gonna have to change my bar room rant - “Democrats are dopes” and come up with a lot more thoughtful, (and provable) concepts.
re: the large percentage of young Democrats who would rather live somewhere else other than America. When I hit the lottery I’m gonna set up an operation that provides a ticket to anyone who wants to leave American and ‘live somewhere else’. All they have to do is renounce their American citizenship and can never come back. We’ll see how long they’re happy in some crappy country with its weird rules, lack of opportunity and dopey ideas of justice!

Democrat "energy policy" is merely a shiny distraction. to keep people from really looking at what Democrats stand for - their own self-enrichment.
They obviously do not support nor believe it themselves, since we see Jill Biden jetting back and forth in multiple single trips to be both present at French state events and Hunter Biden's sordid trial all in real time.
$300,000 of taxpayer costs to support their "carbon-free" hob-knobing with French elites and simultaneously staring-down their long time cronies on the Delaware jury.
Hey, these supposed leftist/liberals are right about the restructuring of our government. Let's get traditionalist and devout Christians willing to enact social change for once and not be afraid of what others say. We need leaders who wield power effectively and actually strive to serve the socially conservative communities who voted them in and will unapologetically put Christ and Christian values first. Not merely some nationalistic movement riding the coat tails of cultural Christians but actively promoting a Christian society.
Quite a laughable cartoon you share here when the biggest threat to queers in Palestine is the genocidal bombing and terror campaign being committed now by Israel using US munitions, funding, political cover, and now US troops. I do look forward to the arrest of everyone who has enabled these massacres. And then no analysis whatsoever about why people leave their countries of origin to seek asylum in the US - remember when quinoa was popular in the health food stores? The history of Chiquita banana? No? Keep your heads under that rock painted red white and blue I guess.
George Washington did not "leave his country and seek asylum". He stayed and he fought for freedom. They should do no less. Not buying this wholesale "asylum" racket, nor their failure to apply in the first neutral county they enter. That alone is de facto evidence their US "asylum" request is bogus.
