The “sermon”/partisan rhetoric given by Bishop Mari Ann Budde during yesterday’s invocation with President Trump, was not only inappropriate but repulsive as well. Waving the Rainbow flag in all our faces, Bishop Budde is not only a Gay activist, but vocal radical who rejects any and all conservative, traditional beliefs.

Why is it lesbians have risen so prominently in our society? I couldn’t care less about one’s sexuality, but I do find it interesting that many city leaders, fire chiefs, police chiefs and now Bishops are now predominantly overseen by outspoken lesbian activists. What changed in our society, where have our straight male leaders gone? Time for a change, sexuality should have no place in how we worship, fight fires or arrest criminals.

Henry, et ALL: The decline of clear moral thinking at SBHS started a generation ago. All four of my adult children attended, and all four were subjected to the dyspeptic agenda of hating America, American history, and American exceptionalism. Thankfully, all survived their brainwashing by virtue of deep-seated values conveyed from THE GREATEST GENERATION (our moms & dads who fought, bled, and died in WW2) through this grateful boomer. One key text was employed by the revisionistas--as it was throughout the Peoples Republic of California and other "enlightened" states. Namely, Howard Zinn's "A People's History of The United States." That singular text did more to infect & poison American youth than any other tome, IMHO. Especially in the hands of militant Marxist teachers, in the spirit of Angela Davis, a heroine of the trade craft of anarchy. No wonder the millennial and GenX cohorts are confused, unpatriotic, and without anchor bolts to the grand idea of America. Say what they will about Pres Trump and his bombastic zealotry for all that is good, noble and exceptional about America. He stands for this Republic...an idea whose fragility we barely survived these past 50 yrs, and to which we must all re-cement our hearts.

The Democratic Party that I grew up in and supported as a young man lost its way. For reasons that history will ill judge, the Party was handed over to an ideology that attempted to sell propositions that defied common sense and ignored reality. And when there was the slightest pushback to these propositions, the Party made the critical mistake of trying to censor opposing views in a way that was singularly unAmerican. The Democratic Party will struggle until it decides that (1) it will no longer try to suppress opposing views that try to point out the error of certain policies that defy common sense and (2) it will engage with opposing views on the merits and abandon censorship as a tactic.

The “collapse of the (Dem) party,” is way too premature. No, the media has something else in mind. Already, we are seeing sympathetic images by even our local media, families being separated, women and children crying and facing deportation. The pardons of J6 defendants is also being rejected by the media. Never mind Biden turned cop killers free, the focus now is highlighting Trump’s policies on immigration and LBGQT rights and advocacy. Does the media not respect the will of the voters, didn’t we just decide these issues?…of course we did! To suggest we now have clear sailing in terms of a conservative agenda is wishful thinking.

The strategy of the hateful left is simple; promote an anti MAGA narrative in the media and tie up Trump’s agendas with infinite frivolous lawsuits which will be litigated in court for years.

Definition for Elaine: A benevolent dictatorship is a government in which an authoritarian leader exercises absolute political power over the state but is perceived to do so with regard for the benefit of the population as a whole.

I clearly recall walking down the hall with the Raytheon Electrical Engineering Department Manager when he somewhat humorously commented to me, "Sometimes you have to be a benevolent dictator." Saying the words "benevolent dictator" with a meaning of authority. Now we have half the country of unhappy Democrats that simply want to act as children because they didn't get the "leader" they thought they would. We who voted for Trump want him to erase the past decades of tearing down the country by the Dems. Honestly, the best way of doing this restructuring is handing it over to a person that understands the problems and let him at it. Let Trump be a benevolent dictator in order to get things done and override the opposition Democrats. Trump knows when to stop at going too far with being overpowering. Let him get done with what we voted him in for.

I hope I am not alone in an abhorent reaction to the Trump/melania meme coins. WTF is the president doing this for? Transactionle get rich quick schemes.

But there is a larger issue here. The matter of Panama is so utterly irrelevant that the Donald’s preoccupation with it is still another reminder that his good thunder on issues where he feels he has been personally wronged can readily give way to immense blunders on important matters on which he is wholly misinformed or completely misguided.(thank you D Stockman).

Stated differently, the Donald’s day one thunder was superb but his blunder in totally ignoring the big issues—taming the Warfare State, reining in the explosion of Federal spending and debt and throttling the madcap money-printers at the Fed—needs to be corrected real soon.

We don’t have much hope for that, however. At the end of the day Donald Trump is a statist Cesarean who thinks governance is a principle-free transactional “art of the deal” to be performed on a global stage.

It is not. Not in the slightest. What America actually needs is not a bully boy CEO, but a Federal government that sobers up, balances its books, brings the Empire home and gets out of the way.

Then again, we just don’t see the Donald signing up for Jeffersonian quiescence and modesty now that he is back in the Oval Office. He has spent a whole lifetime pursuing the opposite, and is not about to execute a volte-face now.

For the Current to sound the trumpets for the "thunder and blunder" rather than promote real sound monetry behaviour is reckless and ominous of the coming presidency.

IMO the next four year will be a disaster. The slow but inexorable decline of the US will continue. This Trump administration will prove to be a new ochestra on the sinking ship of state that is America, thats all. It is so sad as it does not have to be this way.

Dan, Does Trump have the right to earn back the millions of dollars he had to spend defending against partisan Democrat lawfare and for the multiple appeals he still has ahead?

Our biggest problem is not knowing whether the increasingly rabid TDS posters showing up here are defending their own government jobs, or are they sincere ideologues. Makes a big difference.

We do understand protecting one's self interests, and particularly one's self-interests in their own taxpayer funded government job. Privacy does not require anyone to reveal their own self-interests, if this is the case.

But when repetitive arguments become stale, repeated endlessly and make no sense, one does have to keep this possible self-interested government employment consideration in the back of our minds.

Because certainly Trump does represent the biggest threat to the current Big Government status quo. Which is also why he was elected - to neutralize the power of the unionized government employee work force, which has reached critical mass voting power and influence in this country.

This has also become a critical factor why "we can't all get along". We have very divergent interests on this very fundamental issue - making tax dollars and taking tax dollars. Where is the new line going to be drawn between limited government and an endlessly expanding Big Government?

This potential TDS self-interest does become a primary suspicion, in the continued TDS vitriol we are seeing here.

And it seems many Republicans and maga’s are happy that DEI is going away. So it looks like everything will be whitewashed again, yes, that is a metaphor for a sea of white faces.

Sharpie guy is very good at betrayal.

Sharpie guy has started the process of big Pharma being able to raise prices on medications. One of his executive orders was for “ whole government to write a memorandum to bring down inflation”. So, apparently, no plan yet. Well, let’s see how long it takes him to come up with a plan.

He was offended at the bishop who had a last-minute plea for him to be merciful. I don’t think sharpie guy knows what that means. His maga supporters were not happy, they said it was disrespectful and not the place. Yet sharpie guy didn’t give it a second thought that he was being disrespectful to President Biden while making his inaugural speech. When you’re being inaugurated, it seems your speech should be inspiring and uplifting. Instead he gave a disgusting speech belittling President Bidens administration, with President Biden sitting just feet from him. He was disrespectful to President Biden, and to the other previous past presidents, who attended, not by choice, but by duty. Sharpie guy knows nothing about duty. He expects respect when he gives none. President Biden has nothing but courteous and respectful to sharpie guy up until he left town. Every courtesy was extended to him, even when he didn’t even attend President Biden‘s inauguration. He was, and always will be a sore loser will never have that kind of class.

I have a lot more to say, and I will, but I don’t want to be called Eringer, Junior.

You know the beauty of all this, is it doesn't matter what people like you say or believe. It's all white noise. Trump is in charge joined by some of the smartest people and they're going to run the country using common sense. The only one who cares is you and other liberals who still can't accept you lost. More people agree with Trump and company than the woke ideology that just flew to China.

Henry, you've always written like a grumpy angry old man. It's always seemed like my kids when they were 10 ranting about a birthday gift. Rather than bitch after the guy in your team shirt one, why don't you just tell us all the good that is or is going to happen? You seem driven by discontent rather than ideals. If my son was dating a girl like you I'd tell him to run - nothing but bitching and complaining ahead. Trump is joined by some of the smartest and richest people yes. Let's see how that works out for us.

I hope you don't think me relating you to a teen age girl is too much on the DEI road.

Mr. Schulte, I am not sure what you mean by people like me, but I can imagine what you mean. It may be White noise to people like you, because no matter how much proof you get, you magas are deaf and blind when it comes to sharpie guy. You say sharpie guy is surrounded by the smartest people, well, there might be a dozen or so in the bunch, but not much more. As for common sense, even sharpie guy doesn’t have it.

Yes, we’re disappointed our guy didn’t win, just be glad we weren’t sore losers, like sharpie guy, or we would’ve attacked the Capital already. Also, you need to stop using woke, the meaning has changed and you’re dating yourself. It now means,

“willfull ignorance”, being used to describe Republican/magas.

According to Jerry Roberts, prize winning journalist, the FELON started his term telling 3 Whopper lies:

1. The Felon did not get a mandate, as he lies

2. The economy he’s inheriting IS superb, about which he lies

3. MAGA ( or MAGA-HA-HA-HA ) will not make America Great,

Just another intelligent person’s ( Roberts’ ) intelligent assessment of reality,
