I find the following interesting.

" Councilmember Alejandra Gutierrez is not an outsider; she’s a fourth-generation Santa Barbaran .... the Santa Barbara Democrat Party declined to endorse her. Not long afterward, she reported receiving death threats."

Welcome to the not so new political bullies. It started in the 1960's with the Left willing to threaten and burn because they did not agree. One only has to look at the massive and destructive swing the so called "Dem's" have taken embracing Antifa, DSA communist base, and more. The former Councilwoman is a woman without a party and it doesn't make a difference what she can se habla.

The Guillotine was out and promoted for people like me who dared to question the fast failing "alternative" transportation plans started in the 1980's (not one bike path). Now you only have to see Old Town SB, and the multiple failures that was supposed to be the grand design called the St. Francis Transportation Plan that has failed in all major points. The bullies of this type of politics are not independent thinkers but sheep following "planners" who have failed at the cost of hundreds of millions of tax dollars. Move along, ignore failure.

I'll close with Mr. Campbell's closing:

And a timeless warning:

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” (Exodus 20:16, KJV)

A republic cannot survive if its citizens forget they are neighbors before they are political opponents.

Thanks

An interesting fact of history is that the Reign of Terror ended up with the revolutionaries turning on each other. Robespierre was taken to the guillotine, himself. We are witnessing the similar situation in the Democratic Party nationally, where socialists and DSA communists are now battling with the traditional Democrats.
