This is an excellent article! I would push back just a little, this was not an "uneventful failure" this was a disaster, a good man is dead, two others severely injured and the culture of death came close to achieving their goal of sowing the seeds of discord that puts us on the brink of civil war. This should be the nail in the coffin of DEI hires, but with the brainwashed left not only are they none-the-wiser, they most likely see this DEI hire as a major success and proof that we ought to hire based on skin color and sexual activity instead of character, competence and virtue. The MSM says this poor kid acted alone, do you believe them? Welcome to WOKE America!

"Welcome to WOKE America".

It's more than just woke, America is a secular and liberal nation, one that tramples on tradition, morality, and righteousness. The family has been destroyed and with it has no doubt facilitated this rise and alarming trend of young men lacking direction, purpose, and moral compass that leads to the types of tragedies like the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Theo - it's been interesting the past months learning about your views on things. I think we agree on some subjects but not on others which is great. In your opinion what current nation, or nations, is ideal or nearly ideal for you? I assume it would be a non-secular and conservative. Could you share? Thanks - TJ.

Malta seems pretty okay, unlike Ireland it has not given into secular and progressive pressure for the most part. It ban abortion completely, with no exceptions for rapr or incest and hey, it was one of the first nations in Europe to ban conversion therapy, so you know, shoeing their committed to the dignity of all human life.

Theo, you say so many things I completely agree with- still, I assure you, that as horribly as things are going due to the very things you mention, there are still more Christians than it appears. This is a Christian nation under attack by the sick forces you mention and most of us Christians are deeply affected by the constant attacks. I believe there are still more good souls than bad, but when we look at education, politics, and media, the overwhelming majority of those in those fields are orcs. Also, it may be true that your generation is the first generation with more orcs than normal folks, the future does not bode well.

I was struck by the statement that Cheatle resigned from the Secret Service and left to run Security at Pepsico, rather than continue in the Trump Administration. That is troubling. Imagine if all our first responders considered political affiliation before coming to a citizen's aid. A stain on the Secret Service. At least, finally, a security detail will be extended to RFK Jr. A candidate who lost a father and uncle to assassins' bullets. That decision -- not to give a viable presidential candidate protection -- that should be investigated, too.

I find it admirable that a SS officer — who must be willing to sacrifice their own life to spare their protectee — resigns, if unwilling to meet the requirements of the job! More responders need resign rather than fail to meet job requirements. Dont work in the emergency room rotation, if unwilling to treat all-comers.

I agree, all people with first responder duties should be apolitical at work. But I'm not sure that Cheatle left the Secret Service rather than continue in the Trump administration. She didn't step down and start work at Pepsi until 2019 - well into Trump's term. But maybe she didn't want to work for Trump and it just took a while to find a new position?

Thanks, David, wonderfully put. I just have trouble thinking DEI explains the full level of Cheatle's betrayal of her responsibility. There was no DEI in 1963 and the assassination of JFK went a little too smoothly to simply be incompetence. The Democratic Party is so unhinged at this point, and in its own civil war, while Dr. Jill is acting more Lady MacBeth-like than even Hillary. Nobody is going to take the presidency away from Jill! Maybe it sounds like my tin-foil hat needs a recharge, but I think we are dealing with a First Lady who would do anything to stay in charge, and who knows what she threatened Cheatle with? This is not to say Cheatle shouldn't be fired. On every level she failed. Including getting Trump out of the way. And I'm sure whoever put Cheatle up to this (even if it wasn't lovely Jill) has a sword for her to trip and fall on.

When Musk took over Twitter he was able to fire a major percentage of the employees without any loss of functionality. X is all the better for it. God willing Trump lives to be elected for a second term, the Government as a whole needs a housecleaning on a similar level. Return civil service to a meritocracy. Thin the ranks of the un-elected Deep State who persist through the election cycles, and limit their power to shape policy and determine the course of the Nation.

I have had first hand experience with USSS. As a pilot in the Army, our unit supported George Bush, Sr. once while he was campaigning for the Presidency. (He was VP at the time) My impression of the agents present was of bumbling, inept, poorly trained, with zero plan. They let the public crawl all over our helicopters while Bush was speaking. And the SS cursory inspection of the aircraft afterwards amounted to them looking under the bench seats.

If this assassination attempt turns out to just be incompetence, I won’t be surprised. But I’d like to know the following:

1. Did our snipers have clear line of sight to the shooter, or was there a tree in the way? (Look at over views of the area)

2. Who on the ground was in charge?

3. Who briefed local LEOs on protocol if there is something fishy going on?

4. How many shots did the perp get off and what caliber?

5. Who shot the perp and from where?

6. Were the victims shot by the same gun?

7. Who decided that law enforcement didn’t need to be on that roof?

8. Were local LEOs on the same frequency?

9. Did USSS have drones up? If not, why?

I have so many more questions, but like the Kennedy assassination, I doubt any of them will be answered.

Btw. I was not a DEI hire. I graduated 4th out of 40 from Army Aviators course. and the only reason I was not the honor grad was because I got sick the last 2 weeks of training. My roommate, also a woman, was #1. The top 4 of us were separated by 100s of a point. Everything was graded and placement was by the numbers. Not every woman or black or gay is a DEI hire. Some of us are actually competent and superior.

What do you think of the fact that USSS has different fitness standards for men and for women?

Expand full comment
Anne West's avatar

All of the military has different fitness levels by both gender and age. I served with both men and women who were unfit, physically.

Do I think women should be secret service agents, tasked with bodily protection of Presidents, etc? No I do not. Nor do I think women should be in combat roles. Women should not be killing people. I hate women’s boxing, for instance. It makes no sense to me. However, I am sure there are some women cut out for it. I’ve met a few. None of them will ever be Navy Seals, though. I’ve met them, too, and have a funny story of setting my troops up to try to throw one of them in the pool. It ended badly for everyone but the Seal.

I was 25 when I took the PT test out of WOEC. I did over 80 push-ups in 2 minutes. I ran out of time before I ran out of push-ups. I can’t do even one now. Can I guard a 6’4” dude. Hell no. It’s ridiculous to consider. But I flew Chinook helicopters. Supported George Schulz as Sec of State in El Salvador. Was highly respected by both my superiors and peers. Served as Battalion Commander as a Senior in flight school, have numerous letters of commendation.

You don’t always need to be the biggest, strongest, fastest to be effective in a position. The right position. Most leaders don’t need to be super fit. Trump sure isn’t. But I’d follow him over a more fit, younger man due to his savvy and experience.

All great questions, my first reaction when I watched the video just a few minutes after it happened was, "Why is Trump standing up and pumping his fist, he's putting himself in danger."

But later on I changed my opinion and wondered how his security detail allowed him to stand up. I was watching Fox and someone said his detail acted above and beyond. . . really? I agree with a lot of the comments here, and you know the old adage, "It takes two pieces of bread to make a shit sandwich." In this case the whole loaf should be thrown out.

Well Trump is not very controllable. He’s also a VERY strong, forceful leader. He’s also a showman. He also knows his followers would be unduly worried had he snuck away. That’s what I think. The ones that are out front, leading the charge. I would gladly serve under Trump.

Cheadle claimed that the roof from which the shooter fired had too steep of a pitch to safely post officers. While I admire her concern for the safety of her officers, the 3% pitch of the roof should not have prevented the posting of officers. Perhaps she was concerned that an officer might break a fingernail climbing that pitch?

Yet another example of a DEI train wreck, this time almost resulting in the death of our next president. The old adage “failing upwards,” is certainly the case.

Was this a set up, and planned to take out Trump as part of a larger conspiracy?…doubt it. No, just old fashioned incompetence. It has been revealed that agents from Trumps detail were redirected so as to cover an event attended by “Dr. Jill.” That much is believable given her arrogance, narcissism and self absorption.

Yes, DEI is nothing more than a shakedown perpetrated by those groups on the majority. Some twisted way as to make society pay for the sins of our past.

Kamala Harris is a DEI recipient, even before there was such a thing. Yes, allegedly climbing up the ladder by an old and tested way. Her adulterous affair with Willie Brown is well known and documented. Climbing the ladder to AG, Senate, VP and soon to be Democratic nominee.

Do we as a society sign off on this scam? Do we need DEI in high pressure jobs; Navy Seals, Swat Team, Nuero Surgeon, Astronaut in order to make ourselves feel better?

Enough is enough. The Cheadle Women needs to be sent packing. She is a national disgrace and so is the liberal agenda which enables this fraud on the American people.

Come November, these grifters need to be shown the door!

Great point Monica! I was really shocked a while back to read several really dumb books about DEI and how it is better to hire for DEI because merit is so last century- and it is truly ironic that they sell this diabolical set of lies by claiming it helps women and minorities and as you say it is just the opposite- the real hidden point is to turn us against one another. People still in possession of common sense have no respect for those who support and promote DEI, we also have no respect for DEI hires and see it as plain as day what a disaster it often turns out to be, think Cheatle, Harris, most of Bidens cabinet and a million other examples, but we are not allowed to say anything or we get canceled. Now, it has gotten so ridiculous that people are beginning to speak up and the two sides are really beginning to have stark definitions, the "deplorables" and the brainwashed. The secret aim is war.
