Although I am not a church goer I have always felt that there is a higher authority (God) that makes the world go around. Andy, I am very interested in your thoughts, you appear to have good will and sincerity- however, it was never a question of whether or not Trump breaks the 10 commandments or not, of course he does and so do we all. The question is whether or not, even in spite of his failings, that he knows breaking them is the wrong thing to do and that his official positions defer to the 10 commandments as the natural law- the democratic party adheres strictly to its woke 10 commandments but rejects the true 10 commandments.
There is only one possible true law- for an example, either it is wrong to murder or it is not, one is correct the other is not. The path to salvation is narrow, steep and thorny, no one is excluded from salvation except those who chose to reject the narrow, steep and thorny path.
The Democratic Party doesn’t adhere to someone’s made up ten woke commandments, thats nonsense. And as for the narrow, steep and thorny path, yes. But I don’t see Trump as much of a traverser, especially in light of his minions teargassing my old priest and his parishioners in a quest for a photo op with a borrowed upside down bible. Daniel, There is a lot to talk about here and I wish we had time to discuss it, but here is an inescapable fact, there is either one true faith or there are not true faiths- there can't be more than one but there can be none, those are the only two choices- If we are not in possession of the one, it is highly unlikely that the "new religion" you suggest is going to be the right one and it would vanity and folly to embrace such a concoction. I do agree with some of your intelligent points, but in regard to self- honesty, why on earth would you trust you on these matters? Or why should anyone trust you on this matter? It is true that most religions are man-made, including your religion, it does not follow that there is not one that is true, real and not manmade. The new religion today is secular humanism, and quite right we need something different that this hellscape making ideology.

And as to persisting to eternity, well foregive me for pointing out church attendance is in decline. In the UK the most attended church is the Muslem faith. America also has a declining attendance and observance of christianity.
