Merry Christmas, Mary! Maybe Santa might bring your daughter a better boyfriend?

A fond memory. Years ago children (usually around age 5-6) memorized "'Twas the Night before Christmas" in school. I can still recite it. Sending Christmas blessings to all.

Wonderful. Nicholas was a man who became a Saint based on his good deeds.

Tonight marks the 70th year of NORAD tracking Santa!

"...what began in 1955 as a way to familiarize war-weary Americans with Cold War–era defense systems has become an operation in which more than 1,000 Canadian and American military personnel, Defense Department civilian workers, volunteers to answer the more than 100,000 phone calls that come from children around the world on Christmas Eve. Thanks for the history. Just to toss in an ecumenical thought, I note that Santa (as in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and so on) denotes a female saint (male is San, as in San Diego, San Francisco) so that San Nicolas becoming Santa Claus indicates a transformation. Dare I suggest that Santa Claus is trans?

San Nicolas - say each syllable while skipping the O - ,,,San Nic Clas...or Santa Claus

There is a San Nicolas Avenue on the Mesa near Shoreline Park.....most of the kids know it.
