This is Serious Stuff, Don’t You Think?
First, National Review dug up these callous and flippant texts by Jay Jones in which he casually responds that if he had a gun and two bullets, and the choice of shooting two dictators (Hitler, Stalin) or the Speaker of Virginia’s State House, he’d use both bullets on Virginia’s House Speaker (a Republican). This printed threat took place around 2021-2022.
Next, we discover the same guy, Jay Jones, a 2025 Democrat candidate for Attorney General in Virginia, and former member of Virginia’s House of Delegates, running against a Republican incumbent, during the same time period as the murder threat – 2021-2022 – was pulled over and arrested for going 116mph in a 75mph zone after midnight. Any other Virginian would have automatically spent some time in prison for going such a dangerous speed. Jones’s attorneys got the charges reduced so that their client paid a $1,500 fine and submitted to 1,000 hours of community service – a hefty sentence even if it did keep him from going to prison.
But we discover that this privileged scofflaw used up 500 of these community service hours working at his own Political Action Committee which is not a non-profit charity. He probably would’ve spent 500 hours over that time working there anyhow. But that still leaves 500 hours remaining. I’d be interested to know where he did that time. I’d wager it wasn’t scrubbing floors and taking out the trash at a food bank or soup kitchen. (Your humble correspondent did 10 hours community service in 2010. No picnic!) I can’t believe this guy did almost a half-year of community service anywhere. He would’ve fled to the Bahamas before doing 500 hours of real community service.
Tipping The Scales in Virginia
Keep in mind, three or four years ago was during the Biden administration. Democrats were feeling their oats after taking back the White House. On the other hand, Virginia Democrats were feeling the sting of most of the statewide offices occupied by elected Republicans who won their seats because 9% of registered Democrats in northern Virginia gave their votes to these Republicans. That tipped the scales. Biden gave Democrats cover nationally, but in Virginia, they were angry as snakes for having to explain to their comrades in other Blue states why they aren’t in power any longer in Virginia.
In both cases, Jay Jones has profusely apologized for being so stupid. He didn’t mean what he said about desiring to kill the Virginia House Speaker. Next, he promised the judge he would never speed like that again. I think it’s pretty much a pattern with Jay Jones, don’t you think? Act as if laws that others must abide by don’t apply to him, but when caught, just turn on the charm, insist that those actions don’t represent his true values and let’s let bygones be bygones.
Some unelected Democrats in the media have strongly suggested Jay Jones should/must resign from his campaign. If he did win the race, his credibility would be a drag on the office from the get-go. Do the commonwealth and his party a favor and step aside. Bite the bullet on behalf of the greater good. What is truly reprehensible, however, is the fact that as of this moment, not one elected Democrat in Virginia, or any Democrat Party-controlled union or political action committee has called for Jay Jones to abandon his candidacy.
Democrats views elections as simply slots to fill for the glory of the party. Honor, character, integrity, credibility, prestige, don’t mean anything. Even Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar would do. It may as well be the Politburo under Soviet Communism. You fill a slot for the party and give total obedience to its leaders up the ladder. They are not there to serve the voters, but the party.
This is why Democrats appear to march in lockstep without dissent: because they do hang together for fear of being ostracized and canceled. It’s amazing for all the noise spouted by “renegade” Democrat Senator John Fetterman supposedly against Democrat party sacred cows, he’s not once voted against his party when it really counted. Under Biden, Democrat maverick Senators Manchin and Sinema voted against the party when it counted, and they are now employed by lobbying firms and not the Democrat Party.

On another subject, Were I to pick which state – New Jersey or Virginia – Republicans may win – if I could choose only one – I’d pick New Jersey.
I’m saying Republican Jack Ciattarelli has a 51% chance of defeating Democrat Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey.
It would be nice if Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears (a Republican, and black) could succeed Glenn Youngkin (what a dumb rule: every winner in Virginia governor’s race becomes instantly a lame duck) but Democrat Abigail Spanberger (the worst kind of modern female Democrat) is leading.
It wouldn’t be a shock if Republicans lost both races, but the losses would be very narrow. No blow-outs are anticipated either way. Often the party out of power in the White House wins these two gubernatorial races...
...But I believe there are different dynamics in play this time around. Republican registrations are up, and Democrat registrations are lackluster to down.
Progressivism is taking a beating locally and nationally and who out there better personifies left-wing Democrat progressives than rich female Democrats Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger?
Republicans are featuring a legal black immigrant from Jamaica running in Virginia, and a homey ethnic Italian American guy in New Jersey. Ciattarelli will be spending much of the remainder of October walking the streets of Hispanic and white working class neighborhoods in northern New Jersey who feel abandoned by the modern Democrat Party.
Many of those disenchanted Democrats voted Trump/Vance last November. Turnout becomes the issue. Can a digital Republican online machine pinpoint those disgruntled Democrats and get them to the polls in an off year?
Virginia Democrats are still bruised by the humiliating shift to Youngkin four years ago in northern Virginia. These were well-heeled civil servant Democrats who voted Republican. They will be energized to return the favor this time. But they aren’t facing a white, middle-aged Republican male; they’re staring at a surprisingly consummate politician who happens to be black, female and with roots in the Caribbean. She has her own bipartisan appeal. There’s no longer a downside in the South when Republicans run blacks on their ballot line. Almost nobody with Republican registration is going to “protest” by voting for Mikie Sherrill.
If the MAGA movement wishes to maintain its moderate momentum and head of steam, it could be injected with some extra energy with “surprising” victories in New Jersey and/or Virginia.

Democrat: Derives self worth and validation through acceptance by and conformity with the Democrat party. Democrats love to work for the government. Democrats love committees and decisions by committee which remove any individual responsibility.
Republican: Derives self worth and validation through accomplishment and responsibility. Republicans want the government to just get out of the way and leave them alone.
Man-child Jay Jones, threatens to kill his Republican opponent in front of his family and remains supported by the Dem faithful? Wait, he’s black and Democrat so he gets a pass on terrorist threats? The fatigue is so real.
Meanwhile, the current Lt. Governor, Jamaica born, and naturalized citizen, is running for governor, against white, uber liberal challenger who can’t even demand that Jones be pulled from the race? Further, Spanberger can’t even demand that grown men shouldn’t be able to shower with young girls? This is so twisted, you can’t even make this stuff up.
Folks, this is living proof the Dems will say and do anything to maintain power over the rest of us. Including, closing down our government, flood our country with illegal migrants and drugs, free criminals and bankrupt our country in the process.
They truly are a den of thieves. God help us all from Sodom and Gomorrah.
