President Trump’s speech in Davos, Switzerland, on January 21, 2026, illustrated how his administration is applying “U.S. management policies.”
Davos is a small, semi-remote ski town where in 1971 the 33-year-old German born, Harvard trained, professor Klaus Schwab created the European Economic Symposium.
Over the years, as the number of participants increased, the agendas began to include political issues and, in 1974, political leaders began to attend.
In 1987, the name was changed to the World Economic Forum (WEF).
While the agenda changes annually to reflect what leaders consider the evolving challenges facing the world, the reason for creating the forum remains unchanged.
It was created for European firms to catch up with “U.S. management policies.”
WEF in 2025
On Monday, January 20, 2025, the President and CEO of WEF, Berge Brenda, whose background of formerly being the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, and Environment, was reflected in the topics discussed under the theme of “Collaboration for the Intelligent age.”
The topics focused on globalization and environmental issues such as “forging innovative partnerships and dialogue to enable investment in climate and clean technologies—and work towards achieving equitable, secure and sustainable energy systems,” and “If you want to talk about solutions for Planet Earth, we have the three that have been working for thousands of years---biodiversity, the Ocean, and the knowledge of indigenous peoples.”
The globalization climate duo had been a theme for years. For example, in 2019 when John Kerry arrived in his gas-guzzling private jet to criticize Americans for driving gas-powered vehicles to the grocery stores, the topics included “Globalization 4.0” and “Countries coming together as one big global economy.” Christine Lagarde, president of the European Bank, said that Europeans needed to find a way to work together under the “necessary” regulations.
President Trump Speaks
On January 23, 2025, just three days after being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump decided to break with the tradition of neither President Obama nor Biden speaking at the WEF, and electronically address the WEF on the reason the forum was created: “U.S. management policies.”
President Trump used his 30-minute speech to summarize some of his accomplishments in his first term and outline his plans to close the border; eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI); lower oil and gas prices; eliminate regulations; cut taxes for U.S. citizens; and have the European Union and other countries stop mistreating Americans and great American companies.
He said ,“My message to every business in the world is very simple: Come make your product in America and we will give you the lowest taxes of any nation on Earth.”
In April, 2025, the 88-year-old Klaus Schwab resigned following allegations of financial misconduct and was replaced by co-chairs Larry Fink, CEO of the U.S. company Blackrock, and Andre Hoffman, Vice Chairman of the Swiss company Roche Holdings.
WEF in 2026
On January 19, 2026, the WEF opened with the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue.”
On Wednesday January 21, 2026, President Trump stepped onto a stage in Davos and for more than an hour illustrated how his “U.S. management polices” had transitioned the U.S.
The President indicated that he had followed the policies he had outlined in his 2025 speech, including closing our borders, increasing incomes and business investments, and decreasing crime, inflation, taxes, canceling 129 federal regulations for each new one created, and reducing federal employment by 261,000, just to mention a few.
President Trump said that he, and the U.S., wanted Europe to be a strong ally, but it was currently headed in the wrong direction.
To this former professor’s delight, he then offered recommendation for how Europe could follow the path the U.S. had taken in 2025.
The President said that Europe needed to end – and reverse – the mass immigration of people who did not share their values and to abandon the “climate scam” that was run by China’s profiting from manufacturing the parts for the inefficient windmills that the Chinese do not use themselves. He said the more windmills he sees in a town, the poorer he knows the town will be. For example, English people were forced to deal with extremely high cost of energy because their government refused to use the oil from the North Sea, and industrial development requires lower energy costs.
President Trump said that the U.S., while being protected by oceans, sacrificed American lives and assets to keep Europe free during WWI and WWII, and when Denmark fell in six days and was unable to protect Greenland, the U.S. protected the island.
After the wars we gave Greenland back to Denmark, who promised to protect it, but never did.
I can attest to the U.S. continuing to protect it based on my summer job, decades ago, for the Radio Corporation of America, (RCA) of studying blueprints to identify and order the appropriate spare parts necessary to keep Thule Air Force Base, now Pituffik Space Base, in Greenland operating.
The President said the U.S. still supports and finances NATO because we want Europe to be successful.
Meanwhile, the U.S. has never asked for, nor received, anything in return.
The President said that based on the activities of Russia and China, Greenland was essential for the U.S. to protect both itself and Europe, by creating a “Golden Dome,” which would be similar to the dome built for Israel with which to defend itself.
After his speech, the President announced that he had just reached an agreement in principle with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, who was previously the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, that NATO had agreed to Trump’s terms on Greenland at no cost to the U.S.
In just a single day, President Trump used the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue” to deliver an example of the reason the WEF was created: to teach European firms “U.S. management policies.”

Another example of why Donald Trump is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, president America has ever had.
I’m going to ask your pardon, because I may end up rambling myself, but there’s just so much here that is just not right. I will be addressing a lot of the comments here as there’s just too many to pick and choose from. Many of you still think trump is the greatest president ever. Sorry to disappoint, but the real world knows the truth. He is not even a candidate for so-so president. It seems theres a lot of conspiracy theorist on this site, along with some people that sound like plain old cultists.
As usual, many blame the lawless Democrats, you want lawless look at the corruption and lies in the trump administration. Just in case, some of you were not aware the presidents wealth, after only one year of office, grew by over $1,400,000,000. Makes me wonder about all those trips, trump and Jared Kushner made to the Middle East, Kushner’s wealth also seems to grow after he’s been to the Middle East a few times, makes me wonder what kind of deals were made. They want us to believe what they say, not what we actually see. You can disparage Joe Biden as much as you want, but if he were still president, the United States would still be respected by most countries in the world, not a pariah standing alone with most countries, laughing at our present president.
His speech at Davos, to our allies, was nothing but insulting, hateful, and ego driven. He has had many occasions to speak to the heads of state, one on one, but he chooses to throw it out there for all to see, and hear this does not help his case. He has surrounded himself with the same kind of people with his mentality, hooligans like Steven Miller, a racist, Stephen Chung, racist, Kristi Noem, dog killer, hungry for attention, Pete Hegseth, warmonger, Pam Bondi, a personal puppet in our Justice Department, to carry out his personal vendettas, and the list goes on and on. The people surrounding him urge him to have people treated like animals. US citizens are dying at the hands of thuggish, rogue, marauders that have been unleashed by trump and his minions.
Someone mentioned that Washington DC is being ran by racist politicians (anti-white) , really? As we know, white privilege still rules.
Trump speeches are always the same. The election was stolen, I ‘m great look at all I’ve done, it’s Biden or Obama‘s fault, fear mongering about the Democrats, rambling about nothing to do with anything. He needs a thorough cognitive test, not just heresay from him and his minions.
trump could have been the greatest president ever if he had had an ounce of humility, empathy, diplomacy, intelligence, and statesmanship, but his ego and greed wouldn’t allow it. What has he done for the United States of America? He has gilded the Oval Office, divided the country even more, caused chaos in the streets, building a ballroom, defaced the White House and JFK’s memorial. He’s acting president of Venezuela, he covets the peace prize, he wants Greenland. He wants to get rid of Cuba and Columbia. He’s doing something with Iran, he’s after oil, so what have any of these bettered the life of the citizens of the United States of America?
Prices are still high. The job market is nonexistent. No one seems to be doing any better than they did four years ago, except trump and his administration.
