Today marks a significant milestone for Santa Barbara Current as we proudly celebrate our first anniversary!
On November 15, 2023, we launched directly to your inbox, and since then, we have been dedicated to bringing you the latest news, opinions, and insights from our vibrant community.
It has been an exciting journey.
In our first year, we have achieved significant milestones, including a mailing list exceeding 40,000, with more than one-third of these individuals engaging with SB Current daily.
Our platform experiences an average of approximately 30,000 daily clicks, with many readers revisiting stories multiple times, culminating in a total of over 7.5 million clicks since our launch.
SB Current has consistently published content every day since November 15, 2023, featuring contributions from over 30 talented writers. The comments section remains vibrant and interactive, with numerous articles attracting over 100 comments regularly.
Crucially, Santa Barbara Current has established itself as a dynamic and inclusive forum for individuals seeking to break free from the constraints of traditional media narratives that have long prevailed in our community and beyond. We are committed to serving the interests of the public, embodying the principles of being of the people, by the people, and for the people. Our gratitude extends to the citizens who have supported our mission. We are grateful to our readers – without whom our efforts would mean nothing. Thank you!
Who Are Our subscribers?
The SBCurrent subscriber base extends from South and North County into Ventura County.
Additionally, we have knowledge of a couple living in Belfast, Maine, along with subscribers from Tennessee, Florida, even France and the United Kingdom. However, since our subscriptions are managed via email, we do not possess specific data on the precise geographic distribution of our subscribers
Santa Barbara Current extends its gratitude to Jeff and Monica Barton for their generous donation of bumper stickers and SB Current/Trump wine bottles for our Election Night celebration held at Rudy’s. While the wine bottles are currently sold out, those interested in obtaining a bumper sticker may contact editor@SBCurrent.com with their mailing address.
Time to Monetize Our Efforts
Naturally, we have begun to examine ways of staying alive… and afloat… going forward. One of the ways, of course, would be to increase our paid subscriber base. If you believe what we are doing is valuable and you can afford it, we’d certainly appreciate your $100-a-year subscription.
Another way we can guarantee our continued existence is to accept paid advertising, which we have begun to experiment with. You may have noticed Mollie’s Italian Ristorante and the Harbor Restaurant on our last few issues. It seems that has worked very well for them, but we’ll continue to evaluate how and how often to accept such advertising without taking away from our content.

LETTERS, WE GET LETTERS…
SBCurrent Is On To Something
We slowly came together one year ago when Santa Barbara Currents first launched, thinking we were lone conservative voices in this one-party liberal town. But together we became a dynamic branch of the collective national voice that just rode a Red Wave into the White House and Congress.
We are on to something important here, and hope others come to also share ideas, insights and opinions, along with frank disagreements and reasoned critiques. Debate is healthy; partisan diatribes are not. Santa Barbara Current now offers a virtual cup of coffee with conservative voices with the goal of sharing a wider local political spectrum. Try us out.

Will to Win and Succeed
Was it prescience, or just coincidence, that the first anniversary of the founding of Santa Barbara Current occurred so close to the election of the Right Honorable Donald J. Trump as the next President of the USA for the second time?
What courage, resilience, and determination he displayed as he both campaigned and fought spurious lawsuits, up and down the East Coast.
How admirable he was immediately after being shot in an assassination attempt. His standing up when surrounded by Secret Service Agents raising his fist shouting "Fight, Fight, Fight." will be an iconic symbol of his will to win.
What connections and understanding he has with the majority of working Americans, of all origins.
He has flaws as we all do, just like all presidents before him.
But, we expect so much from him in his mission to "Make America Great Again"; we must remain steadfast in our support of his efforts.
Happy Birthday Santa Barbara Current and congratulations to its founders.

One More Thing
Thank you to City Administrator Kelly McAdoo for having the rented Marborg fence removed from Fig Tree Park. A lower fence was placed around the roots to continue the protection from people carving into them and more…
Who is Free to Rally for Freedom this Saturday, November 16th?
Thank you for changing my morning routine, adding intelligent discourse to my caffeine. With Trump's win the whinge of the Woke is slacking off, and Patriots have a renewed sense of the possibility that is this Great Nation revived. We who have been biting our tongues in self-censorship are now empowered to have genuine enthusiasm and a sense that our Community, like-minded and proud, has much work to do.
While attempting to thrive in a mostly democratic town I find SB Current to be a breath of fresh air and a place to feel connected to others with the same mindset..so appreciative ! Thank You !!!!
