I believe the unions are some of the most corrupt organizations running around these days. At one point they were in necessity for men and women to receive fair compensation. But with laws that protect everyone from any illegal hiring/firing to protect them now they are unnecessary. Government unions, particularly are the devil and must be stamped out as well as the teachers unions. They set the prices for everyone else and our one of the biggest drivers of inflation that there is other than fuel / energy prices.

It is simpler and closer to the truth that our standards have dropped accros the board in business life and indeed many if not all walks of life. Our western version of human kind has woefully low standards. If it makes money then all ok. Business is about satisfying wall street and capital. The CEO's get rich exporting jobs overseas and the staff get fired, local communities whither and die, and ultimately so does the country too as it can no longer make stuff. MAGA will not solve this. Once upon a time honesty, integrity truth, character mattered, now all that matters is "personality". The Kardashian clan appear to give little back to society but make a fortune. Trump is a self centered egotist who at best is a flim flam artist, closer to PT Barney Banum circus.
I’ve been sounding the alarm over self-interested public employee unions influencing election outcomes for years. Standing up to bullies is the only way to stop the bullying. When someone gets an endorsement from a public employees union, that should be a huge red flag to voters but most voters are not aware of the way things work in politics. The conservatives need a local version of Joe Rogan; a podcast that is interesting, entertaining and informative.
Yet another example of how Union Goon Squads use bullying tactics to get their way. They lean on elected officials by endorsing those who play their game. Those that don’t are subjected to bullying, intimidation and harassment. Somewhat how organized crime leans on shop owners in extortion rackets. To top it off they hide behind the American flag in their election campaigns!
Public sector unions have really become the adversary of the unsuspecting public, pushing smaller municipalities to the brink of insolvency. The ONLY politician to stand up to public unions was Reagan when he decertified Patco, the bargaining unit for Air Traffic Controllers and brought in military personnel to fill the void.
The only way CA can ever truly be turned around and elections be fair and power shared is if we eliminate government unions. Government unions is an oxymoron. The government is ostensibly the people, so a government union is by definition working against itself. The union dues collected are used more to curry political favor and power than they are for the worker. It's a tremendous scam.
As a retired letter carrier in Santa Maria, the town has become a traffic jam from hell! 100 plus unit apartments springing up in unlikely places. While the outside is attractive, within 6 months, the carrier can’t even deliver the mail due to vandalism. If you figure 2 cars per unit, let alone the strain on electricity and water, the streets are wall to wall cars. While in CVS on Main Street, I was looking for cotton balls! They were under lock and key! As I exclaimed “wow”, the clerk said the whole store will be like that soon! If the town is attracting residents who simply can’t afford to live or have no respect of any kind, no wonder the masses are leaving my beautiful state. I prefer not to go back to the days of the “wild” west. It’s really sad on Stowell there is a flashing sign the informs us the a red light means “stop”!!!! Unfortunately, when the residents realize there are no consequences, this is the result. Small business owners are fed up!
Why do firefighters receive such exorbitant salaries & benefits, while at the same time it is so tough to join the force? Their pay packages would be significantly reduced if free market supply/demand for those positions were not influenced by the decision makers + union forces pulling together and grifting the system.
True, also will make a dent in the $83,300,000.00 jury award to E. Jean Carroll currently under appeal by Trump’s latest group of lawyers. Perhaps she’ll take some collectables as payment.
I believe it was FDR who said that public sector unions were a dangerous concept. JFK Started us down this road to perdition of government unions.
Also, Schwarzenegger (sp?) tried to counter the unions at the beginning of his term as governor but lost. He gave up after that and he abandoned his earlier conservative bent.
