No problem . . . if they were cute enough. The problem is most of the Commie-Dems are Fugly, which is the reason they’re siht-disturbers. They can’t get laid so they’re gonna take it out on the rest of us.

How wold ya like to wake up next to Rachel Lavine, Gina Raimondo or Janet Yellen ? All definately two-baggers!

Thanks, Andy, clear and terrific, unlike our government here. I think even Kafka couldn't have imagined the labyrinthine ways in which our government spends our tax money to pay for ever more jobs within the government - that take away ever more actual jobs that might pay for real people to live here.

Outrageous overreach by unelected bureaucrats. These are the same environmentalists that deny the citizens of Lompoc the use of their beach due to the “Snowy Plover.” Anyone aware of the status of their population? Are they being saved? Or is this yet another environmental con job?

I used the analogy a few days ago, what if we are under thermonuclear attack? Does the President and Joint Chiefs of Staff have to ask permission from the Country to respond to our enemies?

The California Costal Commission is made up of environmental extremists. Unelected, unaccountable, liberal wack jobs. Talk about the “tail wagging the dog!”

BTW, where is Salud Carbajal? Should he not be the one responding to this bureaucratic mess, concocted by Pedro Nava and his band of Greenies? What’s next, mandating electric space vehicles?

You answered the why they are difficult, “essential to both the private sector and National Security”

After watching how the government has treated service members over the last few years driving out the strong & welcoming the weak I’d say they are trying to weaken our national defense.

That’s how they get rid of the Constitution is by losing a world war, purposefully. But I know that’s a bit much for most people to comprehend.

Or is it simply our local government is trying to extort fees from them?

“The APCD is tying up the project in red tape”

As you pointed out “It is hard to believe the emissions’ tradeoff between idling offshore or the back-and-forth to Ventura”

But just as with “green” agenda. As long as the filthy pollution that goes with manufacturing “green” isn’t in our back yard who cares.

And of course SB has been driving away businesses for years. It’s their MO. Why? Not sure except perhaps they want SB just to be a resort town for the wealthy.

Building small lower rent places, not family housing.

They are driving out businesses so what jobs are left here? Yep, gardeners, maids, cooks, etc. that is consistent with the housing they are pushing through.

That is consistent with their unfriendly business practices.

Spot on Brian…“After watching how the government has treated service members over the last few years driving out the strong & welcoming the weak I’d say they are trying to weaken our national defense. It’s all part of the ongoing plan to collapse Our Country… https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/197-military-officers-purged-by-obama/

Why did HUSSEIN attempt to destroy our military (WEAKEN)? Why did HUSSEIN install traitors at the highest levels of our Gov't? Think DOJ, FBI, CIA, NAT SEC…Why did HUSSEIN bring people into the WH who HATE AMERICA and what we stand for? What years did ISIS expand? Why did HUSSEIN put restrictions on US MIL COMMAND re: ABILITY TO ATTACK TARGETS AT WILL > WH DIRECT APPROVAL REQ FOR EACH ACTION? FACTS NOT FICTION.

AMERICA WAS SYSTEMATICALLY BEING WEAKENED. OUR MILITARY WAS SYSTEMATICALLY BEING WEAKENED.

Insurgent activity is designed to WEAKEN government control and legitimacy while increasing insurgent control and influence. Insurgents require supporters, recruits, safe havens, money, supplies, weapons and intelligence on government actions. A robust insurgency can be waged with the support of just a small percentage of a given population.

NEXT:

Counterinsurgency may be defined as ‘comprehensive civilian and military efforts taken to simultaneously defeat and contain insurgency and address its root causes’.

And on a related note have we noticed how our west coast port cities have been weakened over the last decade or so? Seattle. Portland. San Francisco. Oakland. Los Angeles. They haven’t quite succeeded in San Diego, yet.

Also, strategically, Santa Barbara coastline would be a perfect place to land part of an invasion; it’s the one clear place you could easily cut off the 101, the RR, and with a small effort, the 5.

Remember what a tiny county Japan was when they thought they could cripple us and take us out with attacking one key harbor? Well, China is just right over that a-way.

I’m not being paranoid. The governors of the Western States have sold out our strength in myriad ways; defund the police, legalize drugs, allow homeless nastiness, create a woke populace (I don’t imagine any of them picking up arms in a invasion). Liberal politics are weak, unpatriotic, and anti-American. As former military I am seriously concerned that we have weakened ourselves to such a point that a multi-pronged invasion from multiple points, and from multiple unrelated forces, is easily at hand.

Mexican cartels are already all over the Western States and are very violent and intimidating. I imagine they would have an easy time taking over large areas of the south west and claiming them without a fight.

We have PLA basically being invited in by Commie Harris. Muslims have taken over a number of mid-west cities, and known ISIS operators are here.

Frankly, under Biden, I’m surprised the shit hasn’t hit the fan already. Maybe they are waiting for the election to get closer. My advice? Buy more guns. Buy more ammo. Look closely on securing your property and loved ones and think hard about what you might do if the worst happens.

Don't overlook the strategic value of deep water port Port Hueneme, just south of us - access into Central, Northern and Southern Calif . Together with Vandenberg, both can provide significant coastal defenses.

Except coincidentally, now both Vandenberg and Hueneme are under "environmental" attack.

Yes…excellent points Ma’am! The systematic subversive acts have been well planned and carried out for decades. 16-year plan to destroy American? Presidencies of Obama + HRC? Imagine if HRC was installed in 2016: [2+] Supreme Court Justices, 200+ judges, rogue elements expanded inside DOJ, FBI, CIA, NSA, WH, STATE, …….removal 2nd amendment, border etc. ……… America for sale: China, Russia, Iran, Syria…….ISIS & AL Q expansion…….expansion surv of domestic citizens…….modify/change voter rules and regulations allow illegals+ballot harvesting w/ SC backed liberal-social opinion………sell off of military to highest bidder to fight internal long-standing wars……..

Why didn’t HRC give a concession speech? They never thought she would lose. Hussein/HRC (& many more) must be terrified!

I don't think an invasion of America is necessary. I imagine that China will make a move on Taiwan, The US will mount an initial resistance but will lose an aircraft carrier to a hypersonic missile and the Chinese will suffer some initial losses. The war will be declared too big to fight and for the good of humanity we will negotiate with China and Russia to form a global governance where the spoils will be divvied up. No 2024 election and Trump will be jailed.

Thanks for writing. As government grows, so do the laws and regulations. Since there is no profit or loss to determine outcomes of decisions, a SNFU'd government can "function." Instead of making our lives better by reducing costs characteristic of free enterprise, government creates ways of increasing costs using complicated reasoning. Your piece is another example of this. My hope is that an elected will read and take action.

It feels good to fight for the environment. What could be nobler than to save the planet for the unborn? At least those that avoid abortion. There is also plenty of money to be made. Straight from the government coffers to your pocket funding is available to build charging stations, to capture carbon, to reimagine leaf blowers. The best part is that nothing need come from your effort, yet the money flows. Politicians can bloviate as politicians bloviate about how they will save the environment while polluting my mind with nonsense. I received a telephone call recently from a candidate for a local political office who claimed part of her platform was to fight sea level rise. I suggest she stop pissing into the wind. How absurd. I remember when global cooling was the threat but that has now changed with better models that predict global warming. But the environment has been hotter and colder in the past and carbon has been higher and lower in the past all before those nasty humans and their desire to live got in the way. The climate is a chaotic system and is not amenable to modeling. A model can say where the climate might be in 100 or 1000 years, but it cannot say where it will be in 100 or 1000 years. The farther into the future one ties to predict, the less certain is the prediction and this is true universally. The output of a model is at best only as good as the integrity of the human modeler. There are so many adjustable parameters that are unknown assumptions that make up the model inputs that the result is at the pleasure of the human imputing the model parameters. The model results are in no way free from the bias of the human creating or running the model. Review the film An Inconvenient Truth and you will see that the model predictions of a snow free Mt Kilimanjaro or rising sea level threatening coastal cities or a spate of hurricanes has not come to pass. Yes, the climate change bruhaha is a hoax. It does however provide many opportunities to make money and to make others miserable while feeling good about yourself for saving the planet for those yet born. What is a greater threat to the unborn, global warming or Planned Parenthood?

Why did Biden choose to leave tens of millions of military warfare equipment in Afghanistan knowing g terrorists would seize it?

Why did we give $6 Billion to Iran weeks before the Israel invasion that kicked off another war.

We are in world war now, the world is at war. Other countries are sneaking upon their pray, stalking them.

Buckle up, we will be going to war.

The question is what will the catalyst be? An airplane into a building? Bombing of another us military post? A nuclear missile launched from a sub headed our way that we destroy?

I will reply to Mr. Caldwell excellent article titled "Black Hole Threatens Vandenberg’s Future"

that should be titled "The Black Hole Threatens Santa Barbara County" Since my family friends worked

at Vandenburg and I have been on base with my military family members I will comment. Vandenburg is not going anywhere because of its "High Priority" in the Department of Defense. Mr. Gilbert's comments are uninformed. The real issue here is Santa Barbara County's utter failure to immediately provide the US Government with Known "Subversive Threats" in the County and in fact concealed them. That will get the SB County the "Idiots Award" for stupidity where just now we have all sadly seen the Secret Services utter failure of the Known "Threat" against Donald J. Trump. The similarities in the failure to act on the known Threats is Catastrophic for both SB County and the Secret Service. I informed everyone that VP Harris was not at Vandenburg to see "And the Rockets' red glare, the Bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our Flag was still there;" because quite frankly VP Harris knows NOTHING of Vandenburg and Santa Barbara like our County So-Called-SB-Leaders per Sargent Schultz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34ag4nkSh7Q "I SEE NOTHING"

VP Harris and Carbajal were doing "Damage Control" in Santa Barbara County.

If you read this Mr. Carbajal you know EXACTLY of what I say.

The gibberish from the green left continues. More requirements, red tape, mandates, all adding to the costs consumers must pay.

The net effect is on our economy and the cost of goods and services. It is in effect, a “green tax,” we must all pay.

The availability of clean, cheap, abundant energy is key to the MAGA agenda that hopefully makes the US energy industry, independent and a net exporter.

Yes, the green movement is big business and has become the religion of the left. Much like Methodist, Baptist or Catholicism. They worship on the alter of fear mongering, unproven theories and chicken little mentality.

Locally, radical groups like the Environmental Defense Center, have close ties to the Dem political machine. Those running for office have NO chance of being elected without the blessings of the EDC, Surfrider and the Sierra Club. Time to expose these groups as to the effects on our local economy. As it is, THEY decide if we are to have a local energy industry, by way of denial of pipelines, drilling permits, methods of energy transportation etc.

Time to “drill baby drill,” and REJECT the ban on fracking that Harris supports!

Musk is using the Air Force to steamroll our environmental protections related to launching satellites from Vandenberg .All for private profiteering.

Of the 71 Falcon9 rockets launched since 2018 , only 14 were military related. Yet Vandenberg is using their muscle to say the County of SB and the State of California have no jurisdiction because Vandenberg is a federal military entity.

There are massive environmental impacts involved in every launch.

Caldwell, in typical fashion , would have us cast those concerns to the wind in his crusade to wipe out the protections in place that make Santa Barbara County the exceptional place to live that it is.
