Christy, Thomas and Sebastian- You are completely on target. Thank you for running.

No matter who wins the presidency - even if it is Trump - our fight to save California will not be over. With you three in office, we stand a chance to win this state and this county back.

Too many of my friends have fled California. I'm not going to. I love this part of the universe more than any other place. It has broken my heart to see it beaten up by the Left - for what they claim is social justice, but which is really just about them abusing this state for money and power.

Btw, a friend just sent a photo from Huntington Beach today. Beautiful clean streets, orderly crowd of people, American flags and Trump signs. And we all know what some Leftie troll will respond to this with: “BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL FASCISTS!”

Excellent range of issues, Thomas Cole. They all need new scrutiny by new faces in our US Congress. More Democrat business as usual is bad for everyone.

We need Thomas Cole to join new California congressman Kevin Kiley and ensure the new fiscally astute coalition in the US House has real power over the purse, closest to the people mandated every April 15 to continue funding it.

Salad Carbajal only knows how to spend our money. He knows nothing about growing this money in the first place.

Remind Washington DC, this is our money. Not their money. Support Thomas Cole and support all fiscally conservative California candidates up and down this state. Make California the leader in responsible government again.

Out of nowhere a few years ago a conservative coalition did win a majority number of seats on city council: Francisco, Hotchkiss, Self….. This caught establishment Democrats by total surprise and they ushered in a critical new look at city operations and expenses.

It happened because they had the right message to the right number of voters. The Democrat establishment reacted in shock and swore to never let this happen again. So far they have been viciously successful using every dirty trick in the book when any form of opposition appears. City at large supported the moderate voice of Randy Rowse. Squabbling voices from a majority of self interested districts, by design, are undermining the at larger at-will of voice of the voters.

Bottom line message, the Democrat status quo was overturned once in recent history. Nothing to stop this happening again. Our local non-partisan institutions are not doing well in what has recently become a stagnant one-party town after we were forced to accept district elections, by threat of “election reform” legislation.

Agree, but that rare conservative block on the SB City Council was also helped by the off year election and a strong turnout-out by dis-affected local businesses support of those candidates. It would be tougher to accomplish in the current political environment with District elections and vote by mail.

Glad you took another look at SBCC candidate Sebastian Aldana.

I too have worked with him on past community volunteer projects. He is a doer with an exemplary track record of volunteer community support. Re-directing SBCC to serve local community needs, and enhanced vocational training will be a very welcome new voice on the SBCC board of trustees.

Dear Ms. Lozano,

First, if you want to run to oversee education in Santa Barbara County, you might want to first brush up on your own skills, as the flyer that you distributed around my neighborhood is filled with grammatical errors (e.g. apostrophe errors, comma errors, and comma splice sentence constructions). See this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/SantaBarbara/comments/1g5wa80/i_wonder_if_christy_lozanos_campaign_lacks/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Second, and more importantly, context is missing from your claims. The schools the SB County Office of Education runs are for incarcerated youth, or, in the case of the Santa Maria school, where students go when they are facing significant disciplinary actions. Of course these students aren't going to be performing well on standardized tests; by definition they are at-risk youth. It's like using the scores of students at La Cuesta to make a point about education (again, note the correct use of an apostrophe). If you are at La Cuesta, by definition you haven't been successful in the traditional school setting.

Education was always linked to mind and body. Professional sports and favored student recruitments has taken away from the values of just encouraging a healthy, active body in support a heathy mind. Both need attention.

Brava Christy, for supporting both values. You very effectively made the case.

I loved hearing the stories of the kids who benefited from your physical education program! Tom, you are already marked on my ballot and I will look forward to seeing you officially take office. Good luck to you both!

I support both Ms. Lozano and Mr. Cole in seeking office. I wish them well and all the luck, but I can’t help but feel what an uphill battle it is. Those locally that get a paycheck from government or as discussed, get a paycheck from government contracts are overwhelming and dominating in SB County.

How are we as conservatives EVER able to turn the tide politically with so many on the public dole?

The Dems have designed and put in place a Ponzi scheme which is rock solid and unfortunately, will be in place for decades.

Our only viable constituents are those retired from non-government jobs and young people seeking to start a business or buy a home. ALL other bases are covered and built into their system!

Yes. That covers our beliefs as well. We reached out to the parents, young people, church and business owners.. on the grounds they were not beholden to democrat government checks. We did create a ruckus with our many YouTube ads. Causing Salud to bring in Soros backed Media Matters to run a smear campaign against Cole in the north counties and SLO. Fact is we did better by attacking Salud than trying to get along. Our numbers beat the last two conservative candidates by several % points. And we had only 1/20th of the million and half budgets they had.

We are currently producing a Salud Watch web page on our campaign site.

Looking for support to educate voters year round, not just the month before elections. Thx for your support

Thomas Cole

At this point, the way to replace the current leadership is to Vote and win. Your job and my job are to help with either being a candidate or supporting a candidate. I am a candidate (for 4th time in 2 years) and I am supporting all the candidates around me. Can I ask what you are doing to support? If we have an army of active people, we will make a difference. It's the only way.

Yes, it is an uphill battle that needs to be fought, LT, and voting is one of the ways. I know the state of things are depressing but you have to keep on trying. I would like to think that even the government workers will start taking a good hard look at things and maybe some of them may realize that if certain things don't change they will eventually end up on the loosing end just like the rest of us. Ponzi schemes eventually fall.

Calling it a Ponzi scheme is correct. In the UK the people on the dole are called WOGs, "wards of the government" with the entitlements and weak acquiescence that defines. Now we are importing an entirely new underclass who have every expectation that once crossed over into the El Dorado they have their fortunes made.

Christy and Thomas have my vote.

Most people are simply voting along party lines. Unfortunately, there is no critical thinking or understanding of a candidate's policy.

What I really like to ask the 2 candidates is whether we really have the majority in this county that can vote for them? and if they do get elected they need to work with others to make those policy changes. What happens if the others (democrat leaning officials ) are not on board with their policies?

Trump was making a very realistic assessment about how our schools have deteriorated and how family life has deteriorated and how, given that, teachers need to protect students. It's symptomatic of everything wrong about the Left that they've decimated much of family structure and turned our schools into mean streets - and then they have the gall to say the answer is to take our guns away. Bravo to Trump for saying it like it is.

Have you seen the Dave Chapelle routine where he talks about how they're giving classes at his son's school in how to protect yourself in case of a shooting? He gets the absurdity perfectly.

I give you lots of breaks, S 2. I read your rants against Trump and they're always misinformed. You take everything MSM says about Trump, all the quotes from him they love to spew and then call him Hitler, all taken out of context. You take this crap as gospel - and not once did I tell you to stop it. You know why? Because I believe in free speech. The most recent Gallup poll shows that only 8 percent of Americans still trust the media. So I just let you rant. You are part of a tiny group of idiots still left in America despite 4 years of the Democrats doing everything they can to ruin the country and control thought.

S.2, what keeps any teacher from opting out of their teachers union membership today? They can do this immediately and online.

Prop 98 will still funnel in the same amount of money to this state’s commitment to public education.

Teachers, like all professions, earn their respect. They cannot just demand it. The teacher union iteration of the teaching profession has lost its way.

It needs to heal itself, because it has created its own untenable negative images on their own, along with appalling student success numbers. Best thing to happen is for enough teachers to finally opt out of teacher union membership so the sorry state of public education in this state can get a fresh new start.

The disparity between the voices of teachers and the teachers unions has become untenable. Only the teachers themselves can repair the breach.

Good start. But only one party has come to recognize this, and one party created and is perpetuating most of the future generation debt mess.

Don’t blame the new GOP coalition on prior RINO free spending war mongers or the fallout caused by Obamacare, let alone the trillions of unfounded public pension liabilities rung up to support 99% Democrat voting government employees.

The lines today are clear. It is disingenuous today to blame ….both parties. One party finally woke up. The other remains only “woke”, now used as a fiscally corrupt smokescreen.

It is comforting to learn you as a younger person have awakened to the huge government debt rung up in your name. You have a right to scream your outrage. In fact, it is welcomed and encouraged.
