You have to be careful with a country. Even a nation as vast in size and huge in population as the United States cannot be endlessly experimented upon. You cannot just leave borders open, or allow in large numbers of people with totally different value systems from your own.
This is the mistake many Europeans countries have committed since the ‘90’s Balkan Wars. They have opened their homes to people from every part of their former empires where there is civil strife, war, or just suffocating poverty. The results are everywhere. It’s why Sweden – a homogenous nation which positioned itself apart from its warring neighbors for 500 years, a decent and placid place – has become one of the most violent countries in the world not officially at war.
It’s really the same here in the U.S., though the effects are more dispersed; the problem can be covered up longer.
But two things have happened in the past week that ought to demand every American to reflect on how carefully we must treat the future of this country.
The Case of Somalia
First, is the discovery of vast amounts of welfare and charitable fraud being carried out by Somali immigrants in Minnesota. Somali has been in a state of war and revolution since 1990. As a result, many Western nations – led by the U.S. – were persuaded to give asylum to scores of thousands of Somalis.
Most people don’t change their behavior and experience just because they fly from one country to another. (“You can take the boy out of the South, but you’ll never take the South out of the boy”!) Violence and corruption are an everyday experience in Somalia. These are the habits and traditions Somali immigrants bring to their new homes. There is nary a political leader in Europe who believes their nation has benefited from importing massive numbers of Somalis from their warring homeland.
The revelations surfacing recently show Somali-orchestrated fraud on a colossal scale. The “Feeding Our Future” scheme allegedly stole $300 million from American taxpayers. Other conspiracies targeted COVID-19 relief funds. Much of this loot found its way back to relatives left behind in Somalia. Intelligence suggests the losses have been in the billions - and that a goodly portion has found its way into financing an East African offshoot of Al Qaeda.
Two Questions
Why is such a warlike and unstable group of people permitted under any circumstance for refugee status in the U.S.? Lots of Hungarian refugees in 1956 were turned away. Why should a subset of humanity totally inexperienced in our way of life – in fact, likely opposed to it – be ushered in unvetted for the most part to our hallowed precincts. Congresswoman Omar Ilhan‘s political ideology was forged in Somali, not here. She wants us to assimilate to her.
And, why does a major U.S. political party currently not in power stand almost united on behalf of these people’s criminal activities, against the interests of the very people who elected them to office? Don’t the “bad political optics” cross their minds?
Do they really care?
Can we dare say these leaders are un-American, anti-American, bordering on treason? If true, it would mean that the sizable chunk of our electorate who support these leaders also stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them on the cusp of treason. Thankfully, President Trump announced he is ending their Temporary Protected Status – the umbrella under which Somalis huddle and that makes them untouchable for deportation by the hated I.C.E.
On the eve of Thanksgiving, we got yet another reminder of how careful a nation must be with its immigration processes. Keep in mind we live here as legal citizens. We entrust our government to act in our interests and preserve our safety and peace of mind. Our rights are paramount; outsiders have no rights, only privileges we grant them until such time as they earn their citizenship in our country on our terms.
In the wake of the ambush shooting of National Guardsmen Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe in Washington, D.C., the Trump administration announced it will start over from scratch and assess – vet – each Afghan the previous administration allowed into the country. This should remind us all of the Trump promise made during the 2016 campaign – the one he was most excoriated for – he wanted a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”
The Washington, D.C. shooter reportedly was one of those Afghans who was ignominiously evacuated from Kabul in August 2021 under chaotic conditions by the Biden administration. He was apparently granted asylum in April of this year. The open borders people in both parties argued America must “do the right thing” by these people. Again, keep in mind we had no business staying in Afghanistan after 2003.
The negative barrage against Trump’s response to the attack was bi-partisan and predictable: “Racist”! “Bigot”! The truth is that few people in the West remotely know or care what is going on or what the stakes are. Globalism and open borders occupy such a sacrosanct cornerstone in these people’s worldview that it requires them to look away when the horror reaches a block up the street.
“America First” Inches Ahead
President Trump also recently announced tough new measures against Muslim Brotherhood entities inside and outside the U.S. Way overdue! Funded largely from Qatar, the Muslim Brotherhood has been causing havoc for decades. It’s a far more sinister and subversive subset than the Mafia ever was, and it means business. It’s an organization that seeks to supplant, overturn and replace Western institutions in Western societies. That may appear crazy, grandiose, and beyond doable in our lifetimes, but keep in mind these people are patient and are committed to struggle for the long term.
The Biden administration said it couldn’t tell which Afghans might repay this country by shooting people on the streets of the Capital. Consecutive administrations didn’t try very hard to figure out which Somalis were fleeing Al Qaeda in Somalia and which ones wanted to come here to send money back to support that terrorist group.
After three decades, we haven’t begun to figure out in the halls of power what is really going on. But the president’s Somalia and Afghan orders, and his tough move against the Muslim Brotherhood, shows that we are tacking toward America First in “sensitive” areas that will keep alien ideologies at bay.
Apply the brakes – turn the Ship of State around – move in the opposite direction!

I think one of the first policies that should be attended to is that no one who runs for political office in the United States should hold dual citizenship with any foreign country and that citizens who run for State or Federal office should be born in the United States . I know that there are a lot of foreign born people citizens who would make good American leaders and that some would say we are throwing the "baby out with the bath water" if that is implemented but in the long run I believe that is the safest way to protect our country at this point.
Excellent article. If the US does not proactively start dealing straight on with the cultural Islam train wreck coming our way...we can kiss our country goodbye. I have zero concern with the inevitable name calling and labeling...always from the Left...that comes with accurately identifying the intentional destruction of social and cultural deterioration of Western Society.
Sharia is rapidly mastitizing in our own land under the guise of religious freedom...a fundamental building block of this country's founding. It is every bit as much as a social, political and cultural movement designed to overhaul its "host" society's very core. They are encouraged in no small part by the naïveté and the anti-Americanism prevalent with the American Left. They make subversives like George Soros and his ilk look they are playing small ball.
Readers not familiar with the depth and breadth are encouraged do a little homework. In not just Minnesota or Michigan (and the attendant massive corruption), it is also in states like Texas where 40-50 new mosques are being built in just the last two years and perhaps over 300 within the last five years. While a mosque is not a cause for concern unto itself...but too many are and have been associated with radical Islam...September 11, 2001.
Islam uses America's sacred laws protecting religious rights in this country to achieve their articulated intention is in fact one of the largest threats to religious freedom this nation has witnessed. Ironically, Islamists are threat to Muslims who support living in harmony with God on a personal level, not as a tool for societal and political upheaval. Pay attention.
