Wow unexpected read this morning! Thank you Nick for highlighting the contrast with my opponent.
You accurately captured how I evaluate a healthy system of systems here on the Central Coast. If we don’t get some big picture thinkers in office soon, I don’t believe we’ll recover from the long term harm.
We are getting the worst results in the country. Just pick any topic that nature doesn’t provide here and ask if we are best in it. Housing? Roads? Water? Fire prevention? Insurance? K-12 Education? Jobs? Cell coverage? Energy costs and reliability? Poverty? Homelessness? Veterans services?
Highest taxes for the worst results.
There’s absolutely no top regional leadership from our congressman. A complete waste of a congressional seat.
I like the direction and planning of the candidate Bob Smith.
Here is a basic problem laid directly at the feet of every Democrat administration in the State of Calif. There is only so much land. As a commodity, the more who want it with a shrinking supply, the higher the cost. It has been so throughout the history of Mankind.
WWII opened the eyes of the nation to Calif. The Cold War encouraged the defense industry to move into the now vacant WWII plants. Boys and Girls and Children of all ages the days of adequate property is GONE. Encouraging the less capable to move here with Welfare is a smoke and mirror game. It also leads to the carrot dangling before illegals. Again which is almost directly laid at the Democrat Party.
The Left toyed with the idea of Socialist / Communist economics because it was attractive. The Left says sure what was the rule, Citizenship before voting, we'll get rid of it for swamping the hard working middle class voting block. The quiet knock at the door has now led to a full forced Kick the Door Down swing by the Democrats with DSA leading the way.
Should Mr. Smith go to Washington? Of course. If Salud is elected will he fight against the Communist and Radicals who strangle the Democrats? That is a great question and I fear he will not stand up for this nation.
It will come as no surprise I voted for Mr. Smith and encourage you to do the same.
Insurance deserves scrutiny! At 70 years old, I pay more for insurance (home, umbrella, car, medical) than I do for food for me and 3 cats and utilities combined. And I have high deductibles. God save anyone who has to file a claim bc this only results in denials (for whatever insane reason they can find), and higher premiums. My agent said dont file a claim unless its a total disaster bc it will just give them a reason to deny you any insurance at all. My 2013 honda fit costs $90 a month bc Im required to "have it all" bc of my umbrella home insurance policy.
Well, the day has finally arrived. The day in which the Democrats flip the House, and maybe, God forbid, the Senate. I for the life of me, cannot come to grips with having Hakeem Jeffries as the new Speaker of the House, replacing a very balanced and level headed Mike Johnson. Jeffries by contrast, has shown an unwavering contempt and hatred for the President and Republicans in general. His continuous hand gestures and hip hop gyrations are unmistakable. How did he EVER get to this level? (I think I know). I honestly believe Rep. Jeffries is functionally mentally deficient (a complete moron) and a bigot to boot!
Regardless, here we are. Our Congressional choices are very clear. A career politician who takes his marching orders from the Unions and Environmental Groups, one who has little to show voters in terms of legislative accomplishments other than renaming a Post Office in Santa Maria and refuses to debate his record. This, versus a career, decorated Naval Officer with years of experience in dealing with complex engineering challenges and proven leadership.
Our manufactured energy crisis should be easy to solve. Nuclear power, supplemented by fossil fuels, simple, that’s it. Wind, solar both a colossal waste of time and money.
Housing, building affordable units where land is much cheaper. Lompoc, Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Buellton, Los Alamos, Cuyama and possibly federal lands. Augmented with public transportation. STOP the land giveaways to special interest and environmental groups such as the Land Trust for SB and Northern Chumash Tribal Council.
Jobs, open up light manufacturing anywhere but Santa Barbara. Promote VSFB as a regional spaceport, technical training through Allan Hancock, aerospace engineering degrees and internships through Cal Poly and UCSB. Promote manned space missions at Vandenberg. And to think that pint sized imbecile, Robert Reich recently advocated for Federalizing Space X!
Agriculture, get off the backs of food producers by way of tax incentives, promote training in local high schools and stand firm on Agricultural Development and zoning. Promote County as a regional wine appellation.
That’s it, hope for the best, prepare for the worst and hope like hell the children in the Democratic Party don’t flip the Senate. Vote as if your wallet depends on it, because it does!
Good comparison. Now it is up to each registered GOP & NPP to get out the VOTE FOR BOB SMITH! Only 33% of registered CD-24 voters have returned their ballots: 35% of registered Republicans, 24% of NPPs. Moreover, the under age 45 are NOT voting in proportion to their registration numbers. The length and complexity of the 2026 ballot is intimidating, but that’s no excuse.
70% need to be texted, called, contacted to Vote for Bob Smith, and told ‘leave blanks rather than not vote’.
This election will not deliver a win or even come close without an active push today from us. We each have emails and text numbers of hundreds of people including from clubs, schools, mailers and directories with contact info. ACT: contact a few dozen now!
To thank Bob for running an exception race, for putting in many thousands of hours and traveling thousands of miles weekly from SLO to Ventura, join me in helping repay Bob’s family for their $100K+ to sustain the campaign — one last gift at BobSmithForCongress.com.
Bob gave this campaign his all 24/7, responsive to all. I’m indebted knowing CA is doomed, if together we don’t turn it around.

Best of luck today, Sir!
