The irony is that the Tesla owners are perhaps more likely to be kindred spirits with those keying their cars. They bought their eco/green cars back when Elon was their hero. The idea of saving the planet, by driving a car with limited range and dependent on lithium and other hard to produce materials is ironic. It brings to mind not just tilting at windmills but joining a circular firing squad.

Brent, thanks for an excellent article!

The anti-Trumpers are Don Quixotes.

Trump is their windmill.

Covid is a windmill.

Teslas are windmills.

The media/FBI/CIA keep trying to convert us into Don Quixotes.

LameVav,

Disavow all you want but measles are deadly windmills. The majority of the children infected with measles are from the Covid era. Parents listened to conspiracy theorists instead of science and didn’t have their children vaccinated. So now the kids are paying for it. If you love your children, get them vaccinated. Two innocent children have died from the measles, a disease that had been eradicated up until 10 years ago.

There’s no such thing as measles. It’s a diagnosis based on grouping the symptoms of rash plus fever plus cold.

Plus, the recent deaths in Texas were proven to be bacterial pneumonia and they failed to give the Antibiotic that was available.

Fear of measles is exactly like Don Quixote fighting the windmills that he was afraid of.

I would argue that hostility directed at Musk and Trump is tilting as well. Trump only reflects the will of those who put him in office. Everything Trump is doing, I and I suspect most readers here support. These Mareroic attacks should rather be directed at me and you who support Trump. Perhaps it is best that they direct hostility at windmills.

My take away, which is similar to the Covid mask hysteria is how controllable people are.

Doctors, lawyers, education does not matter.

They are weak minded and will follow someone blindly with no concept of morals, conscience or common sense.

In other words these minions have been militarized to be “suicide bombers”

They know there are cameras all over Teslas and this world. Yet they throw themselves openly at the windmill.

These are dangerous people.

Yesterday it was harass anyone without a mask, today it’s commit physical violence against an object.

What will tomorrow bring?

More violent BLM protests over who knows.

But as Trump stirs the hornets nest things could get more interesting.

Scary times locally. Are we outnumbered or invisible while they are indivisible? At Saturday’s protest no one addressed fiscal crisis, national debt, how they want it addressed. Do the protestors really want chaos and eventual collapse? Who rescues US?

Great article Brent, it immediately reminded me of an odyssey my wife and I made, traveling through La Mancha during our honeymoon. Truly one of the most beautiful places in the world, the hills dotted with medieval castles and windmills. Our trek began in Madrid, driving to Cordoba, Toledo, Jerez, Gibraltar, Seville and ending up in Lisbon. Then there’s the incredible musical, “The Man from La Mancha”made famous by Robert Goulet’s “To Dream the Impossible Dream.”

Fast forward to reality and the left’s war on, wait for it…reality! The unhinged and misplaced rage and violence reminds me of a similar time in local history when hoodlums burned down the Isla Vista branch of the Bank of America in protest for the war in Vietnam. The B of A being a symbol of American wealth and capitalism seem to trigger those “Hippies” which are now in their 70’s and once again attacking symbols associated with the Man! Yes, like Don Quixote taking anger out on innate objects, those on the left are like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Time for these Senior Citizens to get a well deserved time out!

I love this, Brent. “Quixotic” is an adjective that means, according to NOAD “exceedingly idealistic.” In the future perhaps their names will become adjectives with the following meanings:

“Ritenbaughic” - exceedingly Nazi-istic

“Erhartic” - exceedingly unempathetic

“Talbotic” - exceedingly ideologic

“Mareroic” - exceedingly Democratistic

Thanks for the insight, Brent. If I ever buy a Tesla, it will be used and pre-keyed with a sign, "Knock yourself out, please key to your delight!" Some people probably think I have some "imaginary" enemies ... I only wish they were <g>. I'm going to look for a pre-keyed Cybertruck.

With all the Starlink satellites everywhere in the sky, Musk could transmit a lightning bolt down to the keyer, vaporizing the culprit immediately. The Tesla vehicle could provide an early warning to a keyer by playing loud recognizable and chilling "thumping" theme music from the movie Jaws. And as a finality, an audio/visual effect of a very bright "flash" of light followed by an echoing loud "boom." The insane keying culprit should now be prepared for admittance to the Trump's Insane Asylum for Former Democrats.

Funny you compare me to Bill Russell, the basketball player. You know, Harvey (anyone named Harvey, you just have to love them), the "Bill Russell" you speak of moved into my hometown in Reading, MA about a year after we left Reading for Florida ... moved in about a mile from where we lived. It was said the Irish Catholics (which I'm not) harassed Russell in Reading. Russell's kids were well accepted in the Reading schools. All the kids thought it was cool to have the kids of a famous basketball player in their classes. But Russell moved out of Reading because of the crappy neighbors within a few years, as I recall. When we lived in Florida, my dad was the only radio/TV repair guy that took repair calls from the black folks. My oldest sister graduated valedictorian in Reading, MA ... I believe I come from a pretty good gene pool.

If you think I'm dumb, Harvey, take a look at one of my patents and give me a full report about the subject matter contained therein: Google US 7,891,015 B2. I'll keep my brains, thank you.

Another "ata boy" ... good article.

-The all too real objective of all “Tesla vigilantes” is to harm people.- Has anyone noticed the shut down the streets crowd are aligned with these same types? Anyone noticed as cities and communities look like the old Hippy song the Ticky Tacky San Francisco run down piles of junk of the 1960's they want more and more?

The question is when does it end? Well the high density, crush well planned communities, and Shut Dow Main Street juveniles only see what is an inch in-front of their noses.

Sure let's attack property and create mayhem when it suits our minority rule.... Tesla is just the image of what the destroyers want.

Oh, so much about how the left is acting crazy over Tesla's. Protests, destruction of property and violence.

But don't forget the backlash against Bud Light due to its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney two years ago in April

Maybe not to the same degree, but Bud Light displays, kiosks, and all sorts of other property were destroyed because some on the right didn't approve of a trans spokesperson.

Bud Light employees faced verbal abuse, including homophobic slurs and threatening behavior from customers during the controversy.

Oh, and a zillion YouTube videos of folks shooting Bud Light cans. I guess this is why the Second Amendment is so cherished?

So yeah, the Right and Left seem capable of chasing windmills.

Great analogy. Thank you for making this connection. It is a perfect fit.

First thought is weak people attack inanimate objects. Conflating those objects into noisome monsters in their own imagination, has also been a signature hallmark of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The power of story telling. How many times do we still reflect on the simple morality lessons from early childhood fairy tales, that life has proven to be accurate and timely?

As many of you may know, some 5.2 million Americans across 1,300 cities gathered in peaceful protests on Saturday for "Hands Off" demonstrations, including the massive rally right here in sweet Santa Banana that filled State Street from De la Guerra to Sterns Wharf. There was no violence. There were no trashing of Teslas. And yet, upon watching some four hours of Fox and Newsmax Saturday evening and Sunday there was curiously no mention of the events; instead all they showed were the same old tired footage of the handful of burning Teslas from a month or so ago. Fair and balanced or purposeful censorship? -- you decide.
