Carbajal spews hate, lies and permanent division to satisfy his Democrat part handlers. His own lack of self-awareness is both stunning and troubling. California has suffered greatly from similar, highly partisan and ugly copy-cat attacks in every single contested race in this state.

This is not America. Clean up your language, Carbajal. Do something besides letting your party use you as their perpetual yes vote. Drop the Democrat buzz word salad, and tell us who you really are and why both America and California has gone downhill under your watch.

Hello Mr. Livingston I presume.

I think you better tell us EXACTLY how you feel about the Current CALI REGIME. Maybe we both can get together and have a nice civil sit-down with Mr. Carbajal about the serious problems in SB. Problem is if Mr. Carbajal will not debate I am certain he will not "Meet and Confer" to use a legal term since lawfare is what these Folks are all about.

The key word here is "transparency" when it comes to Measure P, I am voting "NO" as I had no clue what they were going to spend all this money on and it reeked of corruption. This article gave me some insight into what their plans are.

The Carbajal versus Cole debate will never happen for the same reason that Brett Baier didn't get answers from Kamala on any of her policies. They have only one policy which is "deconstruction" of the United States (read "destruction").

Thank you, Denice, Thomas, Dale and Jim, for these letters. I'm amazed you're able to move forward with the positive goals you have when you are constantly put in a position of defending yourself against insane accusations. And I'm using the word “insane” because these people - the local media and elected officials like Carbajal - are insane. And dealing with insane people is exhausting.

They're insane because they're terrified. The Democratic Party is coming apart on the national level. And it's coming apart in California. Even our governor, Newsom, is obviously scared that he's losing power. He's trying desperately to appear to be a loyal party member, yet siding with a Trump supporter - Musk - over the Coastal Commission. I wouldn't be surprised if Newsom is privately trying to figure out how to leave the Democratic Party.

Because the Democratic Party is rapidly losing its cult sway. More and more people are leaving. And it's resorting to whatever means it has to cheat, harass, use lawfare, intimidation, smearing tactics.

I see evidence of CA moving away from blue lunacy. I hear from friends in Santa Barbara and other cities about young people - often their grandchildren - being fed up with woke policies, inflation, war. I see more and more Trump stickers and signs. But we are still going to have some rough years as they try to gouge us every way they can.

Thank you again Denice, Dale, Jim and Thomas for going through this and writing about it for the sake of California, Santa Barbara and for us abused taxpayers. We do deserve better. But at least we have you - and the others who've written brilliantly here - on our side.

Mr. Cole is providing a "common sense" approach to his campaign. Everyone with common sense should support him. Accusing him of "hate" refelects the desperation of his opponent, who has no positive remarks to make about his own current democrat stances or policies....because he has none.

Having watched the Measure P debate it became obvious that the same game is being used here as was used in the deceptive County wide extension of Measure D (roads etc.) now callep Measure A. It was and is smoke and mirrors. They have to have the money to "fix" what the current Board was unwilling to address over a decade ago. Remember they backed the scholarships for all regardless of the expense. Denice has always had a "cut to the chase" view of the world. Dale, as a multi-term City Councilman was never shy in directly asking of other council members "Why" would you back what was and is failing? Just look at Downtown Santa Barbara and you can see the decades stupidity that is being continued.

Regarding Salud his answer was and is saddening. I first meet him and Schwartz's Chief of Staff. I watched him do his job (and behind scene cringe when she would intentionally deceive). This should be a local guy succeeds yet I have watched him become someone I do not recognize. If he was that secure in his positions then Mr. Cole should be easy pickin's.........

Regarding the "press?" what can you say. I stopped commenting to KEYT years ago. They run the easy let's not be controversial with anyone on the Left. They backed for instance the new Goleta Train Station when all the objective numbers are against it, and never once looking at LOSSAN failed justifications and massive inflation that blows rail right out of the ball park.

Good compilation of positions. Thanks.

Many busy workers and moms, plus lesser formally educated, ask me how to vote. They tell me, “you do your homework, all these measures are complex and there’s too much to know. Can you help me?” I made copies of the SBCurrent Recommendations on a 2-sided recipe sized cards (8x11.5 card stock cut into fours). I give them the card , answer questions. Thus far, over 130 cards distributed. Added bonus: meeting friends of friends all seeking truthful info, guidance, and explanations on specific issues (unintended consequences).

Maybe in 2026 and 2028 schedule multiple one evening SBCC Adult Ed neighborhood outreach Civics events to give interested voters a chance to learn. I attended one Noozhawk hosted for 50 guests tables of 7-8 persons with CalMatters facilitating and it was insightful hearing from other participants.

My own experience with the SBCC Board of Trustees and their treatment of often lone voice of reason Trustee Veronica Gallardo told me we are not dealing with sincere, accountable stewards of a community treasure, but ideologues who see an institution they can use for their political agendas. I believe the board broke the law in agreeing to a policy of hiring 10 new faculty who were "diverse". Civil Rights Law does not permit discrimination against "white" people, but I think they believe their superior social justice ideology makes them above the law. SBCC Trustees like Jonathan Aboud, Robert Miller and Charlotte Gallop-Moore demonstrate contempt for people who don't agree with their orwellian ideology which excludes in the name of inclusion. As a parent of a student concerned about mandating untested gene therapy injections without disclosed safety studies, I found my concerns fell for the most part of deaf ears. Gallop-Moore joined after the COVID policy period, but her obsession with DEI which she equates with an "ethical lens" is narrow minded and not the kind of vision that can sustain an institution. If you have never attended a meeting, I recommend you view the youtube of the meeting from 7/20/23 where the board voted to Censure Trustee Gallardo for continuing to raise questions about completely unprecedented and likely illegal COVID policies. I suspect if you do, you will urge a no vote on measure P and hopefully get more involved to help us get more public accountability and responsibility on the SBCC board of trustees.

Excellent summation of realities at SBCC. Trustee Gallardo was wrongly censured for attempting to protect all District student from the dangers of the Vaxx Mandate required by the globalists and DEM left as effectively a surprise domestic terrorist attack on everyday Americans. Fortunately you Aimee, StandUpSB Justin Shores, and SBCC alum who’s internationally famous Robert Malone MD, cofounder of RNA, courageous spoke out. You three are unsung heroes!! SBCC was then controlled by interim college president #7 Kindred Murillo who shunned Malone: “educating the public is not the job of SBCC, everyone must be vacxed.” We had to hold Malone’s event in the park, rather than message nationally to inform to save lives. My monthly lunches w Murillo had to be off-campus too because I’m not vaccinated and had published warnings not to vaxx and to get loved elders out of institutions group living arrangements starting in 1/2019. SBCC is not interested in educating. Rather, it is high paid employment for self-serving ideologies supported by politically ambitious

Trustees.

Gallop-Moore came to Montecito from Shanghai and is a DEM controlled puppet. Like Jill Biden, don’t forget it’s Dr Gallop-Moore, even tho in CA it’s unlawful to call a nurse Dr to avoid patient confusion. She capitalizes on the color of her skin. Taxpayers paid for , as militant faculty celebrated, a separate costly graduation for 8 black students.

SBCC is a soap opera; a hit sequel to the Lord series filmed at SB High.

Comment: When I see the cost of things such in the amount of a number followed by a lot of zeros, I'm immediately suspicious. For example, someone says a building will cost two hundred million, or $200,000,000. Really? What are the chances of anything costing something with a single number followed by eight zeros? Is this a rounded-up estimation? Maybe the real cost or bid is for $176 million, and the politicians round it up to $200 million to fill their pockets with the difference of $24 million (just to be safe as they might say, of course). Afterall, you'd think the politicians would be sure the dollar amount would be on the lowest possible side and at least look "real," so not to make the public suspect. But no, expenses are often appearing on the high side with some unbelievable amount (so the polli-tickers pockets can be stuffed with money). You can see how politicians can do well when dealing with chump change in the millions.

I read this interesting post by Jim Buckley titled "Letter to the Editor"

Now we learn one building scandal exposed a major racketeering scheme resulting in tens of millions in lawsuits. It is not JUST the School Bond Industry or Schools that has serious problems in this state but almost

every Institution that is run by a Political Monoply and has run the State of Calfornia into the ground.

Over the course of a decade, taxpayers invested $13.34 million in salary as they advanced to leadership ranks. The FBI which I affectionately call the Fee Bees are in cahoots with Santa Barbara. I'm a witness to that. SB is well protected from any Federal investigation till at least when Trump is in power.

Expand full comment

Hello Bill, I find your use of that term FEE BEES, Feebee for Federal Agents, very very interesting because it has a historical context that few know about or USE but you do. There is only one other person I know that used the term FeeBees and that was my Mother and she lived to 102, way older than you and I. The Term came into use when the Federal Agents were assigned to investigate a serious criminal matter during the 1920s to 1930s which was a Big Deal at the time. My Mother vividly remebered Al Capone, Baby Face Nelson, the Chicago and New York Gansters, prohibition and the beginning of law-less Society, think Santa Barbara. Well FBI and FEEBEEs came into existence by President Roosevelt when Crime accelerated, the assassination of President McKinley, Public Corruption like Tammany Hall, again I will refer you to the Santa Barbara fo good examples of Tammanyism. For Tammany's history I refer you to WIKI https://tinyurl.com/2s3sw6ax and I quote from same>>>>

"..... as the Tammany Society. It became the main local political machine of the Democratic Party and played a major role in controlling New York City and New York state politics. It helped immigrants, most notably the Irish, rise in American politics from the 1850s into the 1960s. Tammany usually controlled Democratic nominations and political patronage in Manhattan for over 100 years."

Interesting how History shows the Democrats using Immigration, the Irish, in New York to do it's Corrupt Bidding to complete Corrupt Power.

In 1908 that is when the FBI came into existance and the FEDs or FEE BEEs by President Roosevelt's Reform Movement which was badly needed at the time.

https://www.fbi.gov/history/brief-history

I quote from above link>>>

"And though no one knew it at the time, America’s cities and towns were also fast becoming breeding grounds for a future generation of professional lawbreakers. In Brooklyn, a nine-year-old Al Capone would soon start his life of crime. In Indianapolis, a five-year-old John Dillinger was growing up on his family farm. And in Chicago, a young child christened Lester Joseph Gillis—later to morph into the vicious killer “Baby Face” Nelson—would greet the world by year’s end. .... But violence was just the tip of the criminal iceberg. Corruption was rampant nationwide—especially in local politics, with crooked political machines like Tammany Hall in full flower. Big business had its share of sleaze, too, from the shoddy, even criminal, conditions in meat packaging plants and factories (as muckrakers like Upton Sinclair had so artfully exposed) to the illegal monopolies threatening to control entire industries."

Does the above sound familiar because it should.

To the Point Bill ........ what you have now in Santa Barbara is a major Public Corruption Investigation in Santa Barbara by the FBI or FEEBEEs.

Hi Howard, actually I thought I invented the term Fee Bees. But I see now that it's been used before as you describe. I can't now explain why, but I have interaction with the FBI. As you mention, the FBI was originally founded to fight gangster crimes in cities. But ... now the FBI is political ... can you say Dems ... and is engaged with "working" with the Dem cities along with "volunteer." They've "worked" with the City of SB ... as an observer over time. I've connected the dots to readily come to that conclusion with engineering certainty of 100%. Go to a branch office website and ask yourself, "Why does the FBI seek "volunteers?" I know why, but it's hush hush for now. My interpretation for the use of a volunteer is to let others do some of the "dirty" work so the FBI doesn't get fully blamed. Nothing like passing the buck, you know? The New York mayor event is a case where the mayor wasn't being a good Dem. The SB mayor is a good Dem in the eyes of the FBI.

I was already planning to vote Thomas Cole to send a message to Carbajal about his being out of touch with his constituents. From his controlled "Town halls", to his letters that fail to address the concerns raised, to his diabolical deception of bragging about getting aid to the people being intentionally starved in Gaza while voting to send more weapons to those besieging, bombing and blocking this aid, the Israeli government, he has not shown himself to be an honest representative. Given the lack of awareness about the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict in our area and the large number of deceived Christian Zionists in our conservative circles, I have no hope in those who support Trump and the Republican party having the discernment and capability to protect us from Netenyahu dragging the declining US empire into fighting Iran, which could easily escalate into nuclear war. I suspect Thomas Cole doesn't agree with me on the danger we face from the Israel Lobby's hold on our society, but I do think he is more likely to listen and treat his constituents with respect, so he has earned my vote.

I'm sure some of you are aware that Jill Biden got her PhD in education, specifically "Her dissertation, Student Retention at the Community College: Meeting Students' Needs, was published under the name Jill Jacobs-Biden. (wikipedia). I don't have any more to say about that, but there are education experts who've made some sense of it in the past.

It's clear that the City Colleges are slated to go the way of local public schools eg be gutted for "online" learning aka "distance" learning using ye olde military technology commonly known as Zoom or the likes thereof. And the billionaire class like Musk and Zuckerberg rejoice at this! They can influence elections and make even more billions keeping the proletariats divided. Win-win for tyranny.

I'm not a TRINO (Trumpist Republican In Name Only) nor am I am willing to affiliate myself with any political party or politician. I try to think critically, and I'd like to encourage others to think critically and refrain from partisan divisions, which are 100% manufactured. Truly, as human beings what do we have that is in common??? We surely have more in common than differences. Well, maybe we do have some steep differences on some topics, but remember the general public is intentionally denied access to information that could save a whole lot of wonderful things in this world.

The San Francisco Unified School District is slated to close multiple schools, despite being the richest city in the richest State in the USA. One of the schools is a dual immersion Cantonese school. For those who follow education and language, Cantonese is a masterful language with considerably more tones that Mandarin. What an absolute blessing people fought for it to be immersive in public school setting... now it could be erased from the wondrous history and educational profile of California. Coincidentally, SF residents (often Chinese Americans) successfully recalled three school board members. Asian Americans stayed down on behalf of the Republic of California and we owe them a debt of HONOR. I respect them so much. They also fought and got Algebra back in the schools.

At this point it doesn't matter to me who wins in November, I'm bracing myself for how to detect more lies.

Listen to yourself- when the citizens of San Francisco try to take back their schools from the scandalously corrupt SFUSD you trash them.

Chinese Americans value education more than many other ethnic groups and are highly, highly intelligent people. You can see their strengths in the fact they were able to recall as many as they did/ they would’ve recalled THEM ALL but the law didn’t allow in for some board members based on how long they had been in office.

SF was my magical city by the bay growing up in the Bay Area, until it became a corrupted one party town, regardless of its ethnic and racial diversity which was long its shining characteristic. Political mono-culture became SF’s downfall.

The technocracy killed the spirit of the city. Democrats are surely there as midwives to this, but that’s about the political economy. It’s vast.

The Republic of California owes a debt of gratitude for the recall success of the citizens. They would have recalled absolutely all of them if the laws had afforded it. What an amazing feat!!!

The corruption of the core of our Republic- our public education system- can be rectified, but only with studied and passionate appeal to the masses. Effective actions can be done overnight. What if Oakland and Montecito were on the same page about the billions being made off of data mining children? Wouldn’t that be beautiful? 🇺🇸

We have the opportunity- we will have the opportunity, but not for long- to have a public school system run not by Google but by local organic educators.

I want this country to be richer, not bought by interlopers from Silicon Valley. No one even needs to vote for this as I aforementioned.

People need more than ever to think about life magically, beautifully, with an eye to save taxpayers billions by doing the unthinkable and liberating ourselves by liberating at the very least K-6 from the clutches of globalist technocrats- those that DESTROYED our lives in 2020.
