Good for you Pat, sharing your enthusiasm over our newly elected President. Maybe an inauguration party at Mesa or Timbers instead would work?…I’m down for that!

Sorry about the lefty power base putting the kibosh on your parade. It would seem parade permits in our local SB bubble are ONLY granted to those involved with the following approved movements: Environmental, as in GOO (Get Oil Out!) or some similar, other goofy, stupid, nonsensical bullshit. Sexuality, as in your desire to be with the same sex or to somehow play make believe and change your sex or species into a cat, bunny or some other four legged animal. Abortion, as in being able to “pull the plug” on someone you’ve never even met, even at the time of birth or even if you’re Gay and not interested in having children. Race, as in standing up for others, as long as they’re anything but white and even if they’re involved in committing heinous crimes.

That about covers it, again sorry about your plans for a MAGA parade, but hey, I’ll be celebrating the end of Joe Biden and the most corrupt, feckless, incompetent and criminal administration in American history. That’s right, ringing in the New Year with the welcoming of the Trump administration and making America great again with low taxes, lowering government spending, strong national defense and an economic juggernaut, the likes of which the world has never seen before!

Parade we don't need no stink'n parades.

As Sneddon stated in the past she did not want to see any horses on State St.

As Harmon stated in the last 6 months she would like to tear up State St. and plant grass.

A college instructor and a attorney stating they could care less about history and the pride of a great event.

Frankly I’m scared. Do we really want to be a nation? That’s threatening Canada, Denmark and Panama. Not to mention threatening the whole world with tariffs. Let alone promising to separate thousands of families that have been in this country for years.

Do all republicans really like the idea that President elect Trump hopes to erase his conviction BY A JURY. Sounds a lot like Netanyahu to me.

Don't be afraid of Trump taking the bull by the horns. He's a doer, unlike most politicians that can't think beyond filling their pockets with taxpayers' money. Standby and watch, you'll learn something about how a small percentage of the population operates. These are the people that get things done, not just talk about it.

Oh please Castleberg, enough with the hand wringing. It amazes me how lefty’s are enamored with jury decisions, unless it’s an all-white jury in the South. BTW, Canada has had a belly full of the failed, moronic policies of Justin Trudeau. Vive La Pierre Poilievre!

A-M: If some people have been "living here illegally for years", why did they never try to make things right with our laws? They knew what they were doing, and they did not even lift a finger. We then know what they refused to do - apply for legal status and make things right. That is on them; yet you want to make this on us. Why is that?

TakeTrump seriously, but not literally. Good watch words from this time forward. The stage has changed actors, but theatrics still rule the day. Roll with it. The world is begging for a realignment. The prior one was stagnant and dysfunctional. Big Government and Big Brother are on the way out. Speaking loudly and carrying a big stick will set things anew. Join in.

A-MC: You do realize we have a three part judicial system?

The reason is because it is given juries can and do get things wrong. This has always been the way our system works. It is not over until every appeal is exhausted. Jury trial or a bench trail is only step one. Don't overly invest in this.

Have more faith in our US institutions working the way they are intended to work. Just often not when we want them to work, but in the big picture justice does get served eventually. Which this election alone proved we are again back on track.

America in its gut knew something had gone wrong in this country, and they voted overwhemingly to strike out in a new direction and get back to our fundamental basics.

Big Government and Big Brother was never part of our original bargain. That is what America rebelled against when this year they voted for change. We have a 250th birthday coming up. A time for serious renewal of our contract with each other as American citizens.

There are no threats. Just quid pro quo offers put on the table. If Canada is ripping off $200 billion dollars a year and keeping its border open for more hostile invaders into our country, we do need some very serious discussions. With consequences. What do you like best about the current situation that you don't want to change?

The further a society drifts from the truth the more it will hate those who speak it.

How alarmingly accurate this G Orwell statement has become.

Trump is an idiot. Only he will prove how un-intelligent he actually is. He is creating the excited states. He mistakes noise for activity.

To annex canada, panama and greenland. WTF? Aren't they our allies? Why threaten them, even before your in the office?

Has he noted Canadian planes are helping fight the LA fires?

As to Panama, Hutchinson Whampoa Li Ka-shing’s ownership of two of the seven Panama ports, is hardly an ability to set the price point for canal traffic. And there are all the ports on the west coast that would dock, ship and rail the containers to the east coast. Current volume through the Long Beach/Los Angeles Ports is five times more than the traffic through the so-called China ports in Panama. At an average value of about $75,000 per TEU, the annual volume into these leading US ports is worth about $1.5 trillion.

As to Greenland helping security and all those Russian and Chinese ships, so many, so many. The easiest way to track them is to detect the radar transmissions of each ship by satelite. Oh wait this is already happening and has been very succesful by the security/intelligence services for many years.

The Donald also promised today that “big beautiful tariffs” would be coming to a shopping mall near you right soon. While he keeps changing the number, a 20% across-the- board tariff has been promised repeatedly. If applied to just the in-coming Long Beach/Los Angeles traffic, therefore, the Tariff Man’s charge to the US economy would be $300 billion per year.

For crying out loud, presidents don’t create jobs—capitalists and businessmen do. And while most presidents are unwilling to give the free market its due, the egomaniacal poseur otherwise known as Donald Trump was especially eager to hog the credit.

Except, except—there was actually no credit to boast about. There were 145,400,000 NFP jobs in December 2016 and just 142,475,000 in December 2020. The Donald’s tenure, therefore, encompasses the only presidential term when private payrolls in the US economy actually shrank—and by 3 million jobs. Well, at least since Herbert Hoover!

The economic growth rate during Obama’s second term wasn’t anything to write home about, either. But it still computed to 2.18% per annum—a rate 40% higher than that on the Donald’s watch.

We are in for a very bumpy ride and little of it will be good for the people of America.

from same "A Call for a Patriotic Flash Mob" .... "He also said never call it a “parade” or “flash mob,” the protected word is “march.” I suppose for that matter better call it a MLK Jr Day March. The more he talked, the more I could see things were getting problematic."

Wonderful idea Pat, but I can just imagine the city hassle trying to shut down State St. with a March, Parade, Flash Mob or whatever, especially on Trumpy Day! Why not instead try to organize a parade featuring dolled-up cars with freedom banners, flags, music etc.? We could slowly cruise down State then circle back and do it again!

I can’t wait for Trump Day! Finally! Someone taking the Bull by the Balls and telling the whole world to Fu*k Off! He can’t be aggressive or belligerent enough for me after wimp Biden paying, then kissing, everybody’s butt hoping to appease the head moron’s around the world.
