Earl Brown: Your idea is a winner. That kind of thing should be Republicans only campaign tactic! You make your point without rancor so people won't be so quick to mute the message. The need now is to carpet bomb mainstream channels with these kind of messages. For Fox, NewsMax and others, Republicans only need to concentrate get-out-the-vote ads during the last six weeks of the election season.

One more downside to "universal mail in voting". This has extended the campaign period now from weeks before the ballots are mailed, all the way though the arrival of the ballots until election day - when the polls allegedly close.

This makes campaigning very expensive and create a far less concentrated messaging time compared to the former single election day- vote in person system. This fundamental change was probably intentional by design, since only the very well-funded, special interests candidates can afford this extended mail-in balloting campaign period.

Plus knowing over-saturation of "campaigning" can lead to voter fatigue and even disgust except for those with the greatest personal and direct interest in the election outcomes - such as the virtually exclusive Democrat-voting, 22 million taxpayer-funded government employees (and their families and friends), for whom winning elections has become existential. Not what the Founders intended.

If you register as a "Republican" you are a Republican, even if you previously registered for years as a "Democrat." That's what Trump did. I don't know Trump personally, I never met him. I first heard of him when I was stationed in Maryland in the 1980's: fair-housing violations, bankruptcies, non-payment of contractors building "his" buildings, whoring around, a full-page ad in the NY Times calling for the execution of 5 Black youths for a crime they did not commit, etc. That being said, I defer to those Republicans who better know him personally for their informed opinion - people like his vice president, members of his cabinet, senior officials in his government, Republican senators and representatives, etc. Most of them consider Trump a threat to American democracy and a RINO using the Republican Party as a tool to increase his personal wealth and power. Who I am to argue with them? As a long-time Republican I will not be voting for a draft-dodging rapist who wants me and other Republicans to pay his attorneys and cover the cost of judgements made against him for his many crimes. Wake up, fellow Republicans! Trump is a liar and a grifter.

I of course, don't agree. But, allowing the Biden gang to maintain its hold on the presidency is a fate worse than anything you have conjured. Please reconsider.

Befuddled also by the common sense Jim Buckley observation. I don't get it either: "How anyone viewing footage of what’s going on at the border could be okay with it is a mystery, but apparently 71% of Democrats see no problem with the chaos it has caused in U.S. school systems, hospitals, and elsewhere..."

Open borders provides a steady stream of new K-12 enrollments, which in turn increases the numbers, power and revenues for the massive nationwide teachers unions - NEA and AFT - who are among the largest Democrat party campaign donors .

As they say, follow the money. Including what "free" open borders K-12 enrollments are costing US taxpayers, let alone the severe decline in public education quality and outcomes. Why would any Democrat not want open borders under these teacher union beneficial circumstances?

The porous border not only provides a study stream of students, but also a steady stream of hungry, desperate workers to harvest the fruit and vegetables, process the meat in slaughterhouses, fill minimum wage jobs, perform janitorial work, repair the potholes on our failing bridges, etc. Most of the K-12 immigrant children I know are BILINGUAL, whereas their monolingual American classmates can't do math and struggle with critical thinking. When the border is firmly closed, the books are banned, and birth control outlawed, the corporate overlords and their shareholders finally will have citizens more to their liking - Breeders, not Readers - who are more than willing to accept whatever crumps fall down from their overloaded tables.

good article regarding voter concerns vis-a-vis the upcoming election for President (& other representatives)...while it's a long time until Election Day, my mind was made up years ago...given the rapid decline that we have experienced over these past 3 years, the choice for voters could not be more distinct...

I'll offer two short quotes to express my thinking regarding the upcoming vote:

1. "Worldwide, children are stolen and sold to pedophile rings. They're tortured, raped, and murdered as part of satanic ritual ceremonies. The murderers then drink the children's blood and eat their flesh. The blood of children who were severely traumatized before they died, contains Adrenochrome, a natural drug produced by pineal gland in the brain. Adrenochrome is the highest valued drug in the world. The God these people serve is satan; it's not the God of love and mercy." -- Mel Gibson

2. "My administration will focus on ending the absolutely horrific practice of human trafficking. And I am prepared to bring the full force and weight of our government, whatever we can do, in order to solve this horrific problem." -- President Donald J. Trump

we are at war, a silent war for the hearts & minds of the good people of this world — the good people that are willing to fight off the evils of this world, once awakened to the hidden truths…we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places...

our choice is clear…vote accordingly

Open borders also create population-based "rotten boroughs" that have very few registered legal voters, but get a full voting right anyway. All it takes is an organized political force to swoop in and capture the small legal voting majority in these population-based voting districts.

Democrats have exploited these population-based "rotten boroughs". This leads to their continued Democrat voting majorities in representative bodies. Can or will the GOP reverse this current trend to exploit population-based, but low legal voter registration "rotten boroughs"?

Jim - you’re forgetting one thing - just how stupid and lazy the average voter is. They don’t have a clue what a politician stands for, his policies, practices, voting record or true interests.

We’re going to need Democrats to vote Republican, but instead of getting the facts from Fox News, NewsMax etc, they get the lies and distortions dished out by CNN, MSNBC etc.

Conservative channels are preaching to the choir - how many Democrats watch them? Not many, which means it doesn’t do the job of influencing Democrats to get the facts and change their vote . The fake news Media is telling them Biden is doing a great job, and if that’s all they hear, it must be true.

Here’s how to reach Democrat voters to let them know the truth how Biden is screwing everything up, (inflation, border, crime etc), and why they should vote Republican.

Sell the Republican party like selling a product, with little 60 sec TV spots called “Did You Know”. Make them entertaining and run them on the fake news channels that the Dems watch. These aren’t public service announcements, candidate promotions or Republican informercials, (which Democrats wouldn’t watch), but interesting little spots featuring popular, credible celebs like Tom Brady, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks etc.

_____

Here’s a typical spot:

“ Hi, I’m Tom Brady, and I’d like to tell you a little about inflation which you might not know. Inflation is tough, and it’s affecting all of us, having to pay so much more for gas, food, clothes and everything else. I bought a gallon of milk yesterday, and it cost me $3.56¢. Just a few months ago it was $2.14!

(Ding the Democrats) President Biden doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal - I guess because his people are causing it. They told dairy farmers, (a new regulation or 2). And the cost of gas? Wow! They told our oil drillers to stop drilling! etc.

(Boost the Republicans) The Republicans have a better idea - it’s called the New America. They’re mindful of the environment, but they help the guys who produce the gas we need for our cars (etc). There’s no reason we can’t get the price of gas down to around $2.50 a gallon where it should be! The Republicans have a solid plan for making it happen, and are all set to start right after the election!

Take a look at the new Republican agenda - I think you’ll find getting our country back on track is the way to go!”

# # # #

Produce and run these little spots all over the channels the Democrats look at. They’ll finally get the _real_ facts, and the message to vote Republican!

How could any Democrat support open borders, the endless growth of government, the endless printing of money and the consequent inflation you ask? Elections are won by parties and not by thoughtful consideration of the issues. Parties win elections by personalizing and demonizing the opposition. The Democrat party is much better at this than the Republican party. Democrats choose to be Democrats because they identify with the propaganda cartoon of the party's virtues and are repulsed by the propaganda caricature of the Republican party. Specific issues have little to do with it. A Democrat identifies with the party and supports without question the party platform. Observe how Democrats vote in lockstep while Republicans are often fractured. While Mr Buckly points to some of the important issues of this election, in the end he recommends voting party line. A better title for this piece would be Vote Like a Democrat.

Well if voting "like a Democrat" is what it'll take, then yes, let's vote that way. We've got to win this thing, fighting fire with fire and all that...

22 million government employees today almost universally support and fund the Democrat party, and actively vilify the Republican party. We see this play our locally, as well as nationally. Self-interest is a powerful motivator, on both sides. We want limited government; they want expanding government. Not a lot of middle ground here.

Meanwhile this large number of Democrat-voting government employees, funded solely by our tax dollars, has created a very unique, powerful and self-interested voting block that the Founders did not anticipate.

Our elections have become a personal fight for control of the taxpayer checkbook, rather than what is best for the Republic overall. With this inherent divide, it is unlikely we will ever be...... united, come together, or even all get along. Instead we must tread carefully between these clearly competing self-interests.

Well, the founders did anticipate those Democrat-voting government employees; that's why every president until John F. Kennedy (including the sainted FDR) refused to allow government employees to unionise. You can thank JFK for leading us down this road.

It is lamentable that both parties have flawed candidates (Biden the more dangerous by far as he is clearly compromised mentally and by who-knows-what-they’ve-got on him, his son, his family, etc.).

How did our once great nation end up at this choice point? What grassroots’ change, if any, can we effect? I’m relying more on prayer than polls these days, and staying informed outside of the mainstream media.

Please be specific regarding the "flaws" of Donald J Trump. I am aware of none as regards his policies. In fact in my opinion, Trump's policies were the best from any president I have ever had the pleasure of voting for. I needn't remind you that real income was up for all demographics, the border was secure, we were involved in no wars, there was real progress in middle east peace. While I will grant you that to some his personality might be off-putting, is that a flaw in his leadership abilities? It should not be a consideration any more than the size of his nose.

If you are writing your comments to me, you are definitely preaching to a choir boy. I agree with virtually all of Trump's policies, though I do wish he'd let go of his Truth Social rants!

Oh come on! The man is… uniquely offensive at times. Not addressing the horror of the mRNA shots and lockdowns would be another fatal flaw. Note I didn’t say I won’t vote for him if need be (likely); I just pray he chooses a solid, competent, less thin-skinned and more eloquent VP. That will make it easier.

After what has been thrown at Trump of late, I suggest he has the hide of a rhinoceros and not thin-skinned at all. Just the opposite. Nor has he been proven wrong when he moves in for the counter-punch.

Running for any elected office takes a certain kind of "flawed" personality. Running for the highest office in the land, as an outsider against the combined forces of the partisan media, the deep state, the organized government employee unions, and even powerful forces inside one's own party is not for the faint of heart.

On some gut level the current "hazing" of Donald J. Trump has amply demonstrated his "flawed personality" in fact is the right stuff. Over all, warts, bumps and all, Trump still stands for promises made, promises kept. That forms his continued enduring appeal to voters who sense America herself is at a critical cross-roads which now requires someone like Trump's laser focus and blunt truth-telling.

80:20 - that is the game plan. Over look the 20% you find "flawed", and support the 80% proven track record that best works for the future of this country.

As a LEGAL immigrant and US Citizen, I completely agree that illigal migrants are a disaster to our country. I have many friends and acquantances who are also legal immigrants, and they all agree with this. I am a registered Independent voter and I am disappointed in the two choices we have. Our country should be able to have better, younger choices (btw, I am pretty old). I was hoping for Governor deSantis. Hope springs eternal. I will NOT be voting for Mr. Biden.
