Under Germany’s newest fine-tuning of its transgender laws, it is now much easier to “self-determine” one’s gender than it is to pronounce the law’s title. The Germans call it Selbstbestimmungsgesetz; it translates as “self-determination.”
The “Self-Determination with Regard to Gender” law goes into effect on November 1st 2024, allowing transgender, intersex, and non-binary people in Germany to – on their own say-so – switch gender identity. The sole requirement will be choosing a sex-appropriate first name.
No mandatory psychological consult.
No state check into the applicant’s medical history.
Nothing.
Following a three-month waiting period, the applicant simply appears at the registry office and Voila: Harry is now Sally (or in this case, Heinrich is Ulrike). After twelve months Sally may then legally switch back to Harry. Again and again. If classifying oneself as “male” or “female” seems too limiting, the applicant may select “diverse,” also a choice under the Self-Determination law.
And for those of us observing from the sidelines? The penalty for mis-gendering is a fine up to 10,000 euros ($10,865.00). Simply by mentioning the prior name or gender of someone who has “transitioned” can also result in a punitive fine up to 10,000 euros.
Effectively, one’s past as a biological male or female is erased from the public records.
Those under 18 years of age desiring “self-determination” require a bit more work in the application process, but not so much as to be arduous. For teenagers between 14 and 18, parent or legal guardian’s consent is required. Under 14 years, it’s the parents who make the declaration, not the child.
Again, it’s all about me, the heck with human dignity, let alone biology.
In the words of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz: “We show respect to trans, intersex, and non-binary people without taking anything away from others [emphasis mine]. This is how,” he adds, “we continue to drive the modernisation of our country. This includes recognising realities of life and making them possible by law.” (BBC: “Germany eases gender change rules” 12 Apr 2024).
Real Women Demoted to “Birthing People”
The chancellor’s words would be laughable were it not for the one stand-out claim (among all the other outlandish gibberish): “We show respect… without taking anything away from others.”
My question for Chancellor Scholz would be: “Where is the respect for women and girls? As a woman, I have now been relegated by fiat to ‘other.’ How is it respectful to women when we are accosted by grotesque female impersonators who make a mockery of femininity?”
Here is where the global transgender ideological movement has directed its aim: against the other human. As if it weren’t enough that women have been relegated to the position of second-class citizens and property of fathers and husbands going back to the dawn of recorded history – the past one hundred years of suffrage a mere blink in time – we are told to relinquish that with which we come into the world: our biological identity as female human beings. Literally, our birthright.
Only my sex is threatened: through athletic competition, the relative safety of former female redoubts like restrooms and locker rooms, and in female prisons where women are now raped by male predators masquerading as female. Even our ability to declare “I am a mother.” Yep, we are now commanded to replace “mother” with “birthing person” so as not to offend those born without a womb. Will be the last dying gasp from a soldier on the battlefield be “I want my birthing person”?
And then There’s California
In 2020, the California legislature passed, and Governor Newsom signed, the “Transgender Respect, Agency, and Dignity Act.” Senate Bill 132 codifies the rights of transgender and other sexually non-conforming convicts to request prison facilities that accommodate their preferred gender. The prisoner need not undergo sex-change surgery, nor take hormones. As in Germany, the inmate’s word is his ticket out of male prisons and into – let’s call it what it is – a harem.
Like the German law, it’s all about them. Female prisoners (“cisgender” is the government’s preferred term), are not mentioned in the bill’s text other than to dismiss concerns. For example, if one were to request statistics on the number of transgender sexual assaults on female prisoners, the data isn’t there. To quote the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR): “CDCR’s reporting mechanisms do not track assaults by gender identity… the data is tracked by institution and not by gender identity” (CDCR Website, “Senate Bill 132 FAQs”).
No data.
No problem.
Santa Barbara’s Democrats Voted for the California Equivalent
The law has been in effect since January 1, 2021. Santa Barbara’s then-State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson voted “Yea”; Assemblywoman Monique Limon likewise in the roll call vote. Every Democrat legislator voted in the affirmative. How is their vote comfort for California’s female inmates compelled by law to undress, shower, and cohabit in locked cells with possibly violent males, a good percentage of them with sexual assault on their records? Real women, such as the six named plaintiffs in Chandler v. Macomber: Janine Chandler, Krystal Gonzalez, Tomiekia Johnson, Nadia Romero, Channel Johnson, and Cathleen Quinn. Here is the link to the CDCR’s website under “Senate Bill 132 FAQs”: https://www.cdcr.ca.gov/prea/sb-132-faqs/
Globally, war is being waged against the female human being. That traditional feminist groups have now signed on as soldiers in this war is a travesty. What about those old feminists who remember the not-so-long-ago? Either those women are silenced through fear of retribution, or for those who dare to speak, they are about half a peg down from whatever diatribe is tossed out about the 45th president these days.
In every war, one must take a side. We either stand up for our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives. Or, through compliant silence, we support the ”rights” of sexual predators, misogynists, and the mentally confused, in denial of one’s biological sex and cellular DNA that cannot be sliced, diced, drugged, or legislated away.
Off to the German Consulate at “12:05”
Early this Friday morning, picture me driving south along the 101 and onto the 405 interchange. Shortly thereafter I’ll be joining a small contingent of women outside the German consulate on Wilshire Blvd. At precisely 12:05 pm, Sharon Byrne, Executive Director from WoLF (Women’s Liberation Front, a genuine feminist organization), will deliver a letter of protest to the Consulate. 12:05 is the German idiom for “It’s too late.” Too late for German women and girls.
Domestic protests are also scheduled for 12:05 outside consulates in San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and New York City. In Washington, DC, the protest will gather on the steps of the United States Supreme Court – symbolic of the one place in the world where a woman’s voice is protected under the Constitution.
We will not be silenced from speaking truth: “We are women. Men are not.”
If you’d like to join us, please do. To contact Consul General Andrea Sasse using this link.

Santa Barbara Current’s Endorsement List (Nov 5, 2024 Election)
DEI is spreading across the western world and enabling dictatorial actions by those in power to write and enforce laws through their civil service enablers. Covid provided a test of how far in a democracy today, those elected, could stretch and impose their power.
In most cases, the transgender movement is an attack on women's hard-won rights, a denial of their privacy and denial of their female biological function, the ability to bear children. All to pander to men who want to dress-up as women, but who, mostly, remain biological males under the their clothing. In every sense, they are ersatz.
The mystery is this, why aren't the majority of women and their husband's and boyfriends demonstrating against the government's imposition of transgender advocates trampling on the rights of their daughters, their wives, their mothers and their grandchildren?
George Orwell's depictions of governments in the future are beginning to look prescient.
Thank you for your passion and fight.
The tentacles of Cultural Marxism are working to apply the death grip in Germany...and much of Western Democracy. The tentacles have already permeated much of OUR public, corporate and government institutions. If you've seen television commercials lately you've witnessed the fruits of their labor. Cultural Marxism is an effective tool in the Marxist's playbook. They are at war for the very heart and soul of our nation...and Western civilization. Vote like it is! ILet's not let their "Fundamental Transformation" of our "Shining Beacon on the Hill" be realized.
