President Trump asked the members of Congress, point blank, to stand up if they believe their first priority is the American citizen or immigrants.
He might as well have asked them if they support the people of Iran or its brutal dictators.
He would have gotten the same answer.
I don’t know of anyone who wants a war in the Middle East.
However, that is not the right question.
The right question is, how could anyone withstand terrorist attacks from Iran once it has nuclear capabilities?
Iran has been attacking Americans, Israelis, and many other countries, for over 40 years in its capacity as the leading sponsor of terrorism around the world and against its own people. It is a well-known fact that Iranian officials have been vowing to kill Trump for years after he ordered the assassination of Gen. Qasem Soleimani, who led the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, in January 2020.
Iran is, in fact, the leading impediment to peace in the Middle East and elsewhere.
The Background
On the morning of October 23, 1983, a dump truck packed with an estimated 12,000 pounds of explosives crashed through the front gates of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut. The detonation ripped the four-story building from its foundation, and the barracks imploded in a matter of seconds. The 241 marines and sailors killed in the explosion represented the largest loss of life in a single day for the Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945.
James F. (Jim) Surch grew up in Lompoc, California, where he was a standout three-sport athlete at Lompoc High School (my alma mater). As a result of his accomplishments, he was approached by more than 30 universities from across the nation. He chose instead to become an officer after graduating from the Naval Academy.
He died in the Beirut bombing, and I am gratified that these many years later justice has been served for him and the millions of Iranians who have been brutalized by both the now-deceased terrorist dictator-Ayatollahs (Ruhollah Khomeini and his successor Ali Khamenei) who’ve ruled their country as an “Islamic Republic” since 1979.
Michael R. Davis, in an opinion piece for Fox News, made a couple of key points that I wholeheartedly agree with:
•Khamenei never tried to hide his thirst for American blood. Two weeks ago, he posted on X threatening to sink American ships. He plotted to assassinate President Trump prior to the November 2024 election, deploying a hit squad to U.S. soil armed with surface-to-air missiles.
This forced Trump’s Secret Service team to use a decoy plane.
•Regarding the requirement that Congress must give Trump permission to take action via a War Powers Resolution, “every president since Nixon, whether Democrat or Republican, has dismissed the War Powers Resolution as unconstitutional.”
•Alexander Hamilton explained to Congress in 1801, “When a foreign nation declares, or openly and avowedly makes war upon the United States, they are then, by the very fact, already at war, and any declaration on the part of Congress is nugatory.”
There is therefore no such thing as a one-sided war.
I shudder to think we would need to explain that once again in the aftermath of 9/11.

The old saying “what goes around, comes around,” seems very appropriate when considering the plight of the terrorist, Islamic State of Iran. With the blood of hundreds, if not thousands of Americans on their hands, Iran finally got what it had coming! Yes, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, never knew what hit him and finally was held responsible for the waves of deaths and terror around the world. To which I say, good riddance!
Kudos to the brave men and women in the US military for bringing down this evil regime and keeping us safe. Proving once again, that the US military is the greatest force for good and freedom in the world.
Why is it then that liberal Democrats are chanting for our enemies? Amazing how many on the left seem to actively root against our country. What is the relationship between liberal campus demonstrations, violence, anti American sentiment, and the Republic of Iran? Interesting is the ties Iran has with our adversaries; China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Hamas, Hezbollah, the list is a who’s who of the world’s state sponsors of terror and mayhem.
The fall of this evil empire will bring in a new, golden era of peace, freedom and prosperity throughout the Middle East and beyond, all made possible by one man….Donald J. Trump!
It never ceases to amaze me just how prescient Alexander Hamilton and all, were in the 1800's , to be able to look ahead and imagine the need for these laws being utilized hundreds of years later....Brilliant minds. Only flaw I see, is they missed "term limits".
