Another example of why Donald Trump is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, president America has ever had.

DLDawson's avatar

To my mind, Trump is the greatest president of all time. Washington kicked out the crown and allowed for the creation of the Greatest Country in the History of The World. Trump has fought off the CCP, the mother WEFers, & the other elements that have captured all three branches of our government over the last three or four decades. Beyond that, Trump is shinning The Light and freeing the entire world. Trump will go down as one of the greatest humans to ever walk the Earth.

I’m going to ask your pardon, because I may end up rambling myself, but there’s just so much here that is just not right. I will be addressing a lot of the comments here as there’s just too many to pick and choose from. Many of you still think trump is the greatest president ever. Sorry to disappoint, but the real world knows the truth. He is not even a candidate for so-so president. It seems theres a lot of conspiracy theorist on this site, along with some people that sound like plain old cultists.

As usual, many blame the lawless Democrats, you want lawless look at the corruption and lies in the trump administration. Just in case, some of you were not aware the presidents wealth, after only one year of office, grew by over $1,400,000,000. Makes me wonder about all those trips, trump and Jared Kushner made to the Middle East, Kushner’s wealth also seems to grow after he’s been to the Middle East a few times, makes me wonder what kind of deals were made. They want us to believe what they say, not what we actually see. You can disparage Joe Biden as much as you want, but if he were still president, the United States would still be respected by most countries in the world, not a pariah standing alone with most countries, laughing at our present president.

His speech at Davos, to our allies, was nothing but insulting, hateful, and ego driven. He has had many occasions to speak to the heads of state, one on one, but he chooses to throw it out there for all to see, and hear this does not help his case. He has surrounded himself with the same kind of people with his mentality, hooligans like Steven Miller, a racist, Stephen Chung, racist, Kristi Noem, dog killer, hungry for attention, Pete Hegseth, warmonger, Pam Bondi, a personal puppet in our Justice Department, to carry out his personal vendettas, and the list goes on and on. The people surrounding him urge him to have people treated like animals. US citizens are dying at the hands of thuggish, rogue, marauders that have been unleashed by trump and his minions.

Someone mentioned that Washington DC is being ran by racist politicians (anti-white) , really? As we know, white privilege still rules.

Trump speeches are always the same. The election was stolen, I ‘m great look at all I’ve done, it’s Biden or Obama‘s fault, fear mongering about the Democrats, rambling about nothing to do with anything. He needs a thorough cognitive test, not just heresay from him and his minions.

trump could have been the greatest president ever if he had had an ounce of humility, empathy, diplomacy, intelligence, and statesmanship, but his ego and greed wouldn’t allow it. What has he done for the United States of America? He has gilded the Oval Office, divided the country even more, caused chaos in the streets, building a ballroom, defaced the White House and JFK’s memorial. He’s acting president of Venezuela, he covets the peace prize, he wants Greenland. He wants to get rid of Cuba and Columbia. He’s doing something with Iran, he’s after oil, so what have any of these bettered the life of the citizens of the United States of America?

Prices are still high. The job market is nonexistent. No one seems to be doing any better than they did four years ago, except trump and his administration.

Excellent summation, Julia!

Thank you, Robert. There are so many on here with their eyes closed and blindfolded who refuse to see what is truly going on.

I gave you a "like" for trying, Julia. Since this is the area of complaints, I'll make one from observing today's news. Tom Homan, the I.C.E. Director got his butt finally out of DC and went to MN. I'd say a week too late. Why wasn't Homan their earlier? Homan is sharp and knows how to make the power Dems pee their pants. Maybe Trump needs to involve his best people when things get tough. Being into politics is all about power and money and that includes all of them across the party spectrum. Trump is a no-nonsense guy and I like that ... he's at least ten times smarter than Biden on his best day. With Biden, I was always worried he'd trip on his shoelaces and/or die on television.

Julia Gonzales's avatar

I appreciate it but I don’t need any pity “likes”. Tom Homan is just like trump and all the other “I am a big tough guy” magas. Back when he was put in this position he was doing all the tough talk. He’s gonna take care of the problem and get rid of all the illegals, no matter what. He was putting on an act today, like he might have some sort of compassion and empathy, but he’s just like the others. I really hope he can do the job with some humanity. I hope he gets these masked thugs some proper training, on how to handle and Descalate situations.

Bill Russell's avatar

Homan is great. I.C.E. has proper training, it's the protesters that don't have any training and get themselves shot ... you gotta call the protesters "STUPID!" They, the protesters, are all dumb-dumbs, let's face it. The illegals were allowed into the country for one reason ... future Dem votes.

Julia Gonzales's avatar

Yeah, just keep telling yourself that.

The British astronomer and physicist Sir Arthur Eddington told a story about a fisherman who wanted to do a scientific study of fish in the sea. Everyday for a year he would go out, cast his nets, and in the evening study the fish he had caught. At the end of the year he proclaimed two conclusions: all fish had gills, and there were no fish shorter than two inches. The first is a characteristic of fish. The second arose because the mesh in his net was two inches.

When I was an impressionable kid my father started emphasizing one thing to me: don't look at what people say, only look skeptically at what they do, and don't rely on what you believe or desire. Instead, ask yourself, "what is really going on?" When one sees the world through ideological filters, all that one sees is the filters. Drop the filters and a more accurate picture appears.

As I see it, what Trump is doing in foreign policy is just a ham handed continuation of what has been US policy at least since the senior Bush. Withdrawal of the US from the role of world cop. Can't afford that in perpetuity but need to restructure the international order in a way that still keeps US secure and flourishing. If there is no world cop (UN can't do it) then what order will best preserve relative peace and economic prosperity. Spheres of influence is the likely result, with conflicts restricted to "border spats." The prime issue is resolution of the Middle East which until recently was caught in the North/South split between Iran and Israel with the need to improve relations between Israel and Arab states (especially the Saudis). My guess is that the Hamas attack was aimed primarily at preventing that rapprochement. That was a last gasp and now Hamas, Hezbollah, and Assad's Syria are toast. Second is identification of the main competitor, that of course being China, begun to be addressed with Obama's Pacific turn. Also, a reset with Europe, insuring a close relationship, with Europe strengthened and paying it's agreed share of NATO expenses. Couple that with a goal of shutting China out of South America to give a secure Western Hemisphere with outposts in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.

China, on the other hand, has problems. Let's look at who are likely to be the major powers twenty years from now: US, Europe, China, India,... Russia? Russia is in a bind, stuck between China, India, and Europe I'm guessing it becomes caught in a resource tug of war between Europe, China, and India. China also has to deal with Indian competition in Southeast Asia and the Middle East (and note the recent European - Indian trade agreement). In the late nineteenth century the major powers were England, France, Austria-Hungry, Russia, and Germany. The German chancellor Bismarck had a slogan: in a world of five, be one of three. Later, when the Kaiser started building up the German navy that alienated England and triggered a Thucydides trap leading to WWI. Perhaps the order twenty years from now will be US and Europe as tight NATO allies with India partially onboard and China-Russia on the "other side." In that sort of order, perhaps attention can actually turn to the climate.

Trump's domestic actions, on the other hand, are leading to a dictatorship which one hopes does not materialize (Robert A Heinlein predicted a religious dictatorship in the 21st century US). If it does, the spark of freedom will have to be maintained on the boundaries.

Jeff barton's avatar

Climate? There is a vaccine for that.

Burton H Voorhees's avatar

Dream away, I'll go with the science. The massive rains last fall were a result of warmer oceans.

Jeff barton's avatar

Warmer oceans sometimes lead to more rain and sometimes they do not. Note the el nino la nina cycles do not always correlate with wetter or drier years. The weather patterns required to manifest as rainfall may or may not obtain. The real question is if warmer oceans are the result of human activity or anthropomorphic and this is where it becomes religion like vaccines. This is why I made the joke refering to vaccines which I am sure with your significant academic credentials you appreciate, or not. The rub in all this climate pseudo science is that the planet was warmer than now through most of time before nasty humans burned fossil fuel. Why are the conditions that led to higher temperatures in the past not dominant today? CO2 has also been much higher in the past before fossil fuel but now all "blame" is put upon fossil fuel. Life has thrived on this planet through much hotter periods than today and life has faced exestential threats. Mass extinctions have never been associated with climate change from CO2 but most likely from volcanism or meteorite strikes. How do you put that in your climate model? Of course you do not. Academia today are a confederacy of whores giving the customer exactly what they want. As an academic you have no intrinsic value because you produce nothing, so it is natural that you are a whore. But don't try to convince anyone that your position is one of virtue.

Burton H Voorhees's avatar

You are insulting hundreds of dedicated hard working professionals who do their best to get it right. You, on the other hand, are seeing only through ideological glasses. Do you even have the capacity to read the research papers and understand them?

Jeff barton's avatar

You have not addressed any of my questions. Yes, I have the capacity to read the research papers and understand them. I have the same education as you same major, physics. As the great Scott Adam's said we are watching two movies on one screen.

Burton H Voorhees's avatar

Dilbert was sometimes very funny, but I prefer Bloom County and Calvin & Hobbs. They had much more heart and far less cynicism. In any case, of course over the history of Earth global climate has been warmer, and colder (snowball Earth anyone) and the current warming won't lead to human extinction (I don't go down that panic road), although it will lead to the need for major adjustments. You ask "Why are the conditions that led to higher temperatures in the past not dominant today?" (1) They don't seem to exist, no massive volcanism, etc., (2) The rapidness of the increase in lockstep with the increased burning of fossil fuels over the past couple of hundred years. But some folk can't see what is obvious, or what threatens to disrupt their comfortable beliefs.

I'll overlook your gratuitous insult about the intrinsic value of academics and whores, I'll put my contributions to humanity up against yours any day.

As a country overall I would respectfully disagree pointing out that the economy has improved markedly, inflation is down substantially with a little more to go, we are making progress in getting men out of woman's sports and preventing the mutilation of babies, THE BORDER IS CLOSED WITHOUT A SPENDING BILL, and so many more accomplishments by the great Donald John Trump. I cannot imagine that you could make a serious argument that we would be better off with sleepy Joe. Very important article. I would add that the Trump administration is slowly uncovering and revealing the Signal Chats which are part of the largest criminal conspiracy in our history, one intended to impede and destroy the government’s effort to enforce federal laws.

Once it is determined who is a part of the conspiracy, who is running the conspiracy, and who is paying the paid agitators, the IRS needs to determine if the employers have issued the required 1099 forms and if agitators have declared their income on their tax returns.

Great article and observations: I am so glad I found SB Current

Scott Wenz's avatar

This is interesting.

I wonder how the gang of 4 on the SB Council would react to what the size of government in numbers is compared to the slow shrinking of the population? What is the cost per a) registered voters and b) property owners of the operation of the city (this could really cause trouble if you asked it for every city and the county government of Santa Barbara county).

Even the Democrats have acknowledged the dramatic drop in homicide nation-wide to levels not seen since 1900. Energy cost down except in Calif. that makes life more manageable.

The President has done one thing. Focused on this country. Cutting laws that strangle the nation. Is that bad?

It is unprecedented to have repeated post WWII White House occupants open borders with the result of weakening the nation. It is unprecedented to have Governors and Mayors allow radicalized private armies roam their streets, with most advocating Marxist Politics. It takes large amounts of money to transport, organize and maintain these anti-US groups. Is it the Democrat Party or some one else?

E.g. Washington D.C. controlled and run by racist (anti white) politicians beat the war drum when the President flooded the streets with law enforcement. You cannot do this!!! Guess what in December of 2025, that mayor stated for the first time in a long time the Streets of the Nation's Capital were safe. Black neighborhoods where the D.C. police would not venture are now manageable.

E.g. The latest death the Democrats are capitalizing on turns out to have a slowly changing story. The Nurse was videoed at a previous anti ICE operation kicking, spitting, impeding, and damaging government vehicles. This was not some mild mannered Nurse. This was a radicalized rioter who entered the fray once again, and was heavily armed. Want to bet Chuckie and the rest in the Senate will use every lever to shut down the government?

Could the words from the Presidential office be a bit more soft gloved? Are the long term beneficial outcomes starting to set in? Are the drops in homicides a good thing? Are the exposure of intentional slush funds draining the wealth of the nation a good thing?

There you go "From the Mountains to the Sea" things to ponder.

Outstanding review. I don’t like President Trump’s insults and would like him to be more Statesman like. But I sure like his policies, especially to wake up Europe that American taxpayers are done with supporting their defence, and then criticizing us. I was born in Europe and immigrated as a teenager with my family. I do think my cousins need to step up. They have it far too easy.

Good Read…yes, Trump‘s Davos speech was a great one, as were his other speeches on the world stage. Trump is taking them to the woodshed (he hold ALL the cards). Great time to be alive!

One of his greatest stateside speeches was given at Pensacola, Florida in the early days. A good one to rewatch. He talked about the US MILITARY providing justice throughout the world…

I read this article titled "Trump in Davos" Brent E. Zepke, Esq.

I have another title "National Emergency in the United States"

that requires "All-Hands-On-Deck"

So what did Trump actually say at Davos and what is really going on

in the United States may we all ask? I provide some quotes from Substack's I follow>

"Waging warfare against the laws and Constitution of America in order to subvert this nation into decadence and defeat as it celebrates its 250th anniversary year"

" Defeating America from within by adding millions of persons entering the United States illegally from foreign foes of America with no loyalty or allegiance to America"

"Pernicious, pervasive propaganda by mobs of paid professional protesters to dehumanize citizens and lawful governmental agents by labeling them as “racists,” “Nazis,” “modern-day Gestapo,”

"Payments made to organized mobs for services and supplies to bring civil discord and widespread violence into the streets of America"

Sound familiar.... it should because the above is happening within the United States that I no longer recognize.

So true Howard. The real threat to democracy are the lawless thugs that call themselves Democrats. I don't think Trump should make any concessions to the rioters (peaceful protesters exercising their first amendment rights my ass) and expeditiously deport every single illegal and all their progeny.

Cash.

How much do foreign countries send to the US for bases?

Strategic locations.

Want to get those huge tanks over to Europe to fight Iran?

This is utter BS. We benefit more from NATO than without it. Trump is destroying it. Under no logic does going it alone look better than having NATO.

Well, the dialogue on Greenland at Davos didn't quite happen the way Brent described. Trump said while traveling to Davos that the US had to own Greenland and nothing else would suffice. He implied we would take it by force if necessary. The next day the US stock and bond market had a fit, which caused Trump to reverse course in his speech at Davos. Now he claimed he had reached an agreement with NATO for a security arrangement with Greenland, which most experts think we already had. BTW, stock traders refer to this as the TACO trade, which is shorthand for Trump Always Chickens Out. Many people have made a lot of money with this trade.

Brent's Journal's avatar

The folks who made money realized it was the art of the deal.

Lou Segal's avatar

No, they knew he would back off to prevent the stock market from panicking. This is exactly what happened last April and what did Trump do? He rescinded many of the tariffs he initially imposed on everyone. Brent, not everything Trump does is three dimensional chess. It's okay to admit that.
